Marinette POV
I was talking with Alya and Nino when Adrian and Kagami came back from their talk. I saw that Kagami looked like she was about to cry so I made a mental note to check in on her later. Adrian came and stood next to me and Kagami said she was tired and had to leave the party early. Oh yeah, I am definitely going to see what he said later on . I thought watching her go. Instead for the moment I settled for torturing Adrian a different way, by confirming embarrassing facts about him that I'd learned from his friends. I turned to him and wrapped my arms around his waist before sweetly prompting,
"So, Adrian, Nino and Alya here tell me that you're a bit of a comedian." He shot the two of them a hate filled look and nervously replied,
"W-well.... that may be a slightly exaggerated claim, I may make a joke or two but calling me a comedian is going a tad far." Alya threw her head back and laughed before saying,
"'Exaggerated '? You used to take every opportunity to make one of your terrible jokes." Adrian bristled slightly and indignantly replied,
"I will have you know that many people have called my jokes hiss-terical." The moment the words left his mouth he slapped a hand over it. I stared at him for a moment before bursting into laughter. I removed my arms from around his waist and instead began to hold my stomach. I straightened up after being bent double and wiped my eyes.
"That was terrible, haha, that pun was really, truly bad!" I said still wheezing with laughter. Adrian began to pout and looked away from me.
"I don't need to hear how much you hated it my lady, I didn't mean to say it anyway." He said sullenly and I giggled slightly using my hand to turn his head so that he was facing me again.
"You didn't let me finish silly kitty, it was a terrible joke, but it was also adorable." I said smiling at him. I went on tiptoes and kissed him on the cheek before turning back to his friends who were smirking at us.
"What's that look for Alya?" I asked suddenly having a flashback to the first time Lila found out about my crush on Luka. She looked between the two of us and suddenly I was glad that phones didn't exist in this world.
" 'my lady'? 'Silly kitty'? Nino and I have been engaged for two years and we have never even thought of giving each other pet names, yet you and Adrian have been together for less than a month and you already have names like that? You must be really in love with each other to be so close." She said smirking. I blushed at the statement and briefly glanced up at Adrian's face which was completely red and he seemed like he was frozen, staring into the middle distance like he was in a trance. Oh no, we broke him. I thought feeling guilty and worried. When he didn't respond to either of our statements after another minute the three of us helped him over to a low wall around some valerian plants. We tried to snap him out of it and each used different methods: Nino used the time honored method of waving a hand in front of his face, Alya tried slapping him and I tried to shake him back to reality. When nothing worked Alya turned to me and said,
"I think you may need to use your power Ladybug." I practically jumped out of my skin at the words. Power?! I've never used any powers before! I don't even know if I have any! I thought anxiously. As I panicked I heard a small high pitched voice somewhere in the back of my head.
"If you need your powers only think of your objective and it will come to you, clear your mind and think of what needs to be done." The voice said. Well, what have I got to lose? I thought before following the voice's instructions. I closed my eyes and cleared my mind before focusing on bringing Adrian back to normal. As I thought about it I slowly felt some kind of energy starting to fill my body and I instinctively pushed it out through my hands. I felt a strange weight in my hands and looked down to see, A pillow? What in the hell am I supposed to do with this?! I wondered hopelessly as I looked around me to see anything that might be useful. I noticed a small red feather with black spots on it sticking out of the matching pillow in my hands. I grinned and pulled the feather out before sitting down next to him and started tickling Adrian with it. He sneezed and blinked a couple times before he asked,
"Did something happen? Ow! Why does my face hurt?! And why does Marinette have a strange feather and pillow?" The three of us laughed and I hugged him from the side.
(Meanwhile somewhere far away 3rd pov)
From within darkness a feminine voice addressed a tall blonde,seemingly sleeping, woman stating,
"It would seem that things are progressing faster than I thought, I suppose you'll have to play your role sooner than we'd planned your highness."
