After seeing that battle when they entered the town they believe they know the rules if either the trainer or Pokemon is knocked out then the battle is over and if the trainer forfeits that is a instant loss for that trainer and Now with the rules set their battle begins. Max gets the first shot by telling charmander to use tackle then went running towards Jim for the first punch but Jim with his quick reflexes told squirtle to dodge and he did the same by moving to the side the he told squirtle to use tackle just as he was about to hit max and both were a direct hit sending max and charmander to the ground but then they both get up and like max charmander is using tackle repeatedly while max was still trying to land a hit on Jim finally he hit Jim right in the gut and charmander used tackle and made a direct hit to squuirtle both were sent flying backwards but all those misses really tired both of them out and Jim used this to his advantage when their guard was down both Jim and squirtle hoped up and ran in for multiple attacks which did a ton of damage when they connected and that ended the battle Jim helped max up and said "you are still not even close to my strength" while squirtle helped charmander up then both Pokemon got returned to there poke balls. Later that day when max healed up from there Pokemon battle on a bench they found to rest on in a quiet part of the town at night. They realized they had no where to stay and very little money so they went back to the Pokemon center to heal their Pokemon up then they decided to ask the lady at the counter who worked there and asked her were there any cheap hotels to stay at. To there surprise they ended up walking up stairs and instead of were professor oaks room was it was a big hallway. Full of doors she took them to one of the doors when she opened it they gasped it was a big room big enough for two people and it was very well furnished with slick green couches and chairs accompanied by a awesome flat screen and in the corner it is a big bag of Pokemon food for their Pokemon she told them they could sleep there for free and stay in the morning as long as they needed to. They told the lady thank you as she gave them a key to the room and left back down stairs then they rushed in the room and released their Pokemon to eat and rest. When charmander and squirtle were fast asleep max and Jim decided to check out more of the room they turned the tv on picking their favorite channels then when they were done with that they went to the bathroom and took turns taking showers and then they laid in their own separate beds and drifted off to sleep.

A/n:Hope u like this chapter sorry the battle was not as long as I wanted it to be but I will be introducing a new character and that is Brock the first gym leader they will encounter he is a mid size black man who specializes in rock type Pokemon, he is way into girls ( this is ripped off the tv show Pokemon if you want to you can look up Brock to see what he looks and acts like) but when he battles he tries to teach as well and can get a little over cocky in his battle skills some times hope u love pad this chapter and I will right son my awesome Pokemon trainers.
