On a farm....

On a farm under the bright shining sun, young Flukey was outside tending to the produce and making sure there wasn't any issues in their development or any unwanted critters snooping there they weren't wanted.

Flukey had been out in the sun working for hours now and the heat was starting to get to him as he wiped some sweat from his forehead but didn't complain and continued to work. 

Eventually a hand would appear next to Flukey that was holding a cup of lemonade.

Flukey noticed it and looked to see that it was from his mother Cecily. 

Cecily: You looked like you could use a drink dear. 

Flukey: Heh thanks Mom. 

He happily accepted the cup as he drunk from it, gulping down the lemonade in one go. 

Flukey: *Sighs happily* I don't know which of yours tastes better Mom: Your lemonade or your apple pies.

Cecily giggled. 

Cecily: Let's just chalk it up to both dearest.

Flukey: Heh. True. 

Cecily: So how is everything out here?

Flukey: So far so good. No bad food or any animals that got in the product. Pretty soon they'll be perfect for harvesting and selling. 

Cecily: That's good to hear. You certainly have your father's green thumb. 

Flukey: Yeah....

Flukey's face slowly changed to a melancholic one and Cecily easily took notice of as she took his hand in hers and he looked at her and Cecily looked back. 

Cecily: I know Flukey. I miss him too. Not a day goes by where I don't think about him and the times we shared together. 

Flukey: Me too. And I hope wherever he is, he's looking down at us with pride knowing that we're still moving forward in his stead. 

Cecily: I'm sure he is dear. Now come inside. I'll make us some lunch. 

Flukey: Okay. 

With Flukey's hand still in hers, Cecily led Flukey inside so they could have lunch together and enjoy the rest of the day in each other's company.

As Flukey sat and watched his Mother cook, a sense of determination washed over Flukey's body at the promise he made to his Father before his passing. 

Flukey promised his father that he would always be there for Cecily and that's what he'll do. 

With no one else in her life, Flukey will be the light for Cecily and help and be in Cecily's corner through thick and thin.
