Report

It was a miracle that we left the White Witch's camp in one piece. Well, two pieces. We were two people. Sorry. Attempt at a joke. A bad one.

As you may already know, I made jokes in serious situations. That was just who I am. Most of them were bad but at least they helped me calm down.

We ran back to the place where we had started walking on foot and we got on our horses to rush back to the castle to inform Caspian and everyone about what was happening.

A lot of questions were on my mind and on Trumpkin's. But all that mattered was that we got to the castle in time and warned everyone. We handed our horses to Mr. Henry. "Please keep them in the stables." I told him. "Thank you so much. We're in a hurry." I said really quickly before Trumpkin and I ran to the castle.

Everyone was talking in groups as we entered. People tried to stop me to have a talk but I excused myself, hopefully politely. They could see that we were in a hurry and in shock. "Your Majesty-" Reepicheep started walking with us.

"We need you." Trumpkin interrupted him.

"That is awfully polite of you but-"

"Get Glenstorm and everyone." I told him.

"But-"

"Just do it!" Trumpkin ordered as we made our way to the library.

"Professor?" I called out as I entered. Don't ask me how I knew they were in the library. It was instincts.

"Sophie?" Caspian's voice came out from the end of the room.

"We need to evacuate the kingdom."

"We need to get our troops ready." Trumpkin said.

"What happened?" The Professor asked.

"The White Witch is back." Trumpkin and I said at the same time.

Caspian looked confused. "What?"

"Glenstorm told me that the constellations indicated for a war. I thought it was between Narnians but it is against her."

My eyes widened up as I realized what I had said. "Sophie?" Caspian came towards me.

"That's what the hag said." I whispered, lost in my thoughts.

"Sophie?" He touched my arm.

"There was a hag in my dream." I started. "The nightmare yesterday." The whole thing came back to me. It started to make sense. How hadn't I made that connection before? Of course she had asked someone to bring her back!

Trumpkin and Caspian looked at each other. "Hags have always supported the Witch." The Professor said. "What happened in your dream?"

"We need to talk to the woman."

That was the same woman I had seen in my dream. The hag went to her house with one intention in her mind - to bring her back. She was scared to speak her name and even refer to her as the Witch.

We met the woman in one of the rooms and I talked with her. "We need to talk." I said, entering the room. "What happened last night?" I asked as I sat next to her.

"There was a hag that came to us." There was a blanket wrapped around her and she looked better then. Nina and everyone had given her something to eat. "It was the middle of the night."

"Did she have a broken staff with her?" I asked, which surprised everyone.

"Y-yes." The woman was startled. "How did you know?"

I paced the room as I nibbled my lips. It was a habit when I was stressed and was trying to think. "What did the hag do?"

The woman started to sob again, still in shock. "She attacked us!"

"And she took your son."

"Yes." The woman started crying again.

I had heard enough. I knew enough to know what had happened. "We need to go." I spoke and left the room. I held my forehead and tried to breathe. They were an innocent family. They only had each other.

"How did you know that?" The Professor asked me, following me outside.

"Because that was what happened in my dream last night." I informed. "I saw the hag attack them."

How did I dream something that actually happened? Did that mean that my nightmare about Caspian would come true? Actually, first of all, would that mean that I actually met Aslan at the bridge in Beruna?

"We've asked everyone to gather at the edge of the woods." Trumpkin informed the Professor and Caspian.

"We can't attack them now." Caspian said.

"Why not?" I asked him.

"Everyone from the Council is here." The Professor said. "We need to inform them."

"But-"

"I'll get the Council together." Caspian acknowledged. Before leaving, he looked at me once. His eyes said it all. He was concerned for me.

I thought that was strange because we could have attacked the Witch's camp right then and won. We didn't need the Council's permission or anything. We had the Narnians. But they were against 'diplomatic relations'.

And guess what happened at the meeting?

"This is outrageous."

"These are tattle tales."

"How can we believe someone who has just been identified to be a part of the Prophecy?"

"How we know that this isn't a war for the throne?"

"We cannot believe them."

"Please, listen to me...." I tried to talk to them. I really did.

"Where is the proof that she is really back?"

"We know that she was defeated by Aslan and the Kings and Queens of the Old."

"She cannot be back."

One thing I understood that day was that the Council was stupid and trusted lies more than human nature. In the end, we ended the meeting because it wasn't leading anyone anywhere. The Council chose not to ignore me. They were just annoyed that I had stopped the ceremony halfway because of some woman that interrupted us.

I knew that the members were against me for some reason. I didn't blame them and I didn't try to bring them on my side like I had done with the people in town. I knew they were supportive towards Caspian. That was all that mattered.

"I don't believe them!" I exclaimed inside the Professor's study.

"They aren't always like that." Caspian announced. Everyone was seated while I was pacing in front of them. "Why don't you sit down?"

"I can't." I said. "Why are we even waiting for their approval? We can take on the camp if we leave right now. They won't even expect it."

"I'm ready for it." Trumpkin said.

"Maybe she isn't back." Caspian said.

I turned to look at him. "What?" I hoped that I had heard it wrong. I prayed that my ears were deceiving me.

"Maybe you saw someone else-"

"You don't believe me."

Trumpkin just turned towards Caspian and gave him one look. He couldn't believe that Caspian said that either.

"It's not that I don't believe you." He started. "It could be someone else."

I scoffed. "I don't believe you." I shook my head.

"Sophie-" Trumpkin hit his arm.

"Out of all the people that I thought would not believe, you were not one of them." I turned away from him.

"Wait-" He tried to stop me. He had gotten up and was going to come towards me.

"Don't!" I shouted before leaving the room.
