My mom was reading my stories and was questioning why all my OCs don't have a real mother, or a nice one at least. They were either all adopted or have motherly figures that aren't biologically there mother. And now she's questioning why if one of the two characters lived, it was always the father.

Honestly I never thought about it. I mean the closest thing I got to a mother daughter relationship in my writing is probably Alex and Iggy.

I guess it was part of the fact that I never connect with mother much, just my dad...

But really mom "real mother"? My characters do to have "real" mothers. Blood doesn't make family. My characters got plenty of moms. Blitz and Wesley got Alex, Alex has Iggy, Hope has Rosalyn, and while she was alive, Cassidy and Omar's mom is still alive and well, their parents just filed w divorce so they don't see her as much, Marius had his aunt (Hope's mother) as his motherly figure up until he was ten. And now Marius has Madame Red as his mother figure.

My characters do have moms. Just not moms in the picture perfect sense
