Overuse of Red and Black Colors

The primary colors used in Sonic.exe are red and black. The colors wouldn't be too bad, except the colors are used virtually all the time to describe objects. Red gets used excessively for backgrounds, and the story's game also tends to cut to black a lot. It becomes tiring after a while.

Even though it is not Creepypasta-related, Suspiria (1977) is an excellent example of something that uses a color scheme for the scare factor. The film manages to use not only red but blue, green, and yellow, too. Additionally, no color gets used too often.
