Use of the Word "Hyper-Realistic"

Seeing this word is one of my biggest pet peeves. People who use it in their Creepypastas think they are all edgy and stuff, but they are just writing cringe in actuality. Oddly enough, the word did not use to be clichéd. The first known instance of "hyper-realistic" showing up in a Creepypasta occurs in Squidward's Suicide. Since the word appeared in Sonic.exe, it has become widespread enough to the point where readers can view it as overused.

Do you know what's an acceptable substitute for "hyper-realistic"? Something like "authentic" beats "hyper-realistic" by a long shot. Even "realistic" on its own is fine; there is no need for the "hyper" part.
