Chapter Nine | How You Kill a Revolution
[AUTHORS NOTE]
I know you are all used to the casting, and don't worry-- I'm not changing it. But I'm curious to know, when you first started the series, and each time you met a character, who did you imagine the casting to be?
Also, sorry for lacking on my updates-- a lot has been going on in my personal life. But I'm back! Also, This book will be following the movie timeline:)
Stay classy!

The next day started out with a bang right away, early in the morning. Quinn had been expecting a fairly normal morning. But there wasn't anything normal about it. Anyone who was involved with the propo's or in command had breakfast thirty minutes earlier than the rest of the district-- Effy Trinket, the woman who had been Katniss's and Peeta's escort to the Capitol had been given a job that she seemed happy to have. Instead of sitting in what she called a tomb (her compartment), she was able to do small things to make her dull uniform stand out. But she had been given the job to tell the appointed citizens of Thirteen how to style Katniss, Quinn, and Orion. Then there was the members of command, Plutarch Havensbee who talked over the the first propo they'd be doing later that day.
"You've just stormed the outskirts of the Capitol, then you say your line," he said motioning to the piece of paper for Katniss to keep looking at, to memorise.
"Wouldn't it be more...effective if she said something she actually...meant?" Otto asked from his seat next to Havensbee. Havensbee looked at Otto as if it was a personal attack. "Just a thought," he shrugged, "As you were saying?"
Plutarch sighed heavily, giving Otto another glance then looking at Quinn. "I had a brilliant line for you, but President Coin suggested it'd be best to have your presence there with Katniss." he explained.
"And so you don't say too much." Orion said quietly from beside her, "Even though that'd probably do more than this could..." he added, saying it just loud enough so Havensbee could hear it just a bit. Out of all of them, Orion probably hated this the most. He had grown up being styled and fed what to say.
After they ate, the three of them were changed into their outfits. Quinn and Orion were both put in a pretty standard District Thirteen military uniform. Black material with black armor to match. The both had a bronze Mockingjay pin too. Katniss's outfit was much more...visual. It was mostly like theirs, but on her shoulder she had armor that was like bird wings. And unlike the useless guns that Orion and Quinn had-- they were just for show...Katniss had a custom bow and arrow that Effy took time to adjust on Katniss's shoulders and tried to get her to hold it a special way.
"Don't you think it's a bit...strange?" Orion asked. The two of them stood on the raised platform, waiting for Katniss to take her place.
"What?" Quinn replied, raising an eyebrow sharply.
Orion motioned to Katniss, "They're treating her like a puppet." he stated, "I don't think we're just here to be with her."
Quinn looked away from Katniss and up at Orion, "What do you mean?"
"It's just weird. We're just here to be a part of the scenery. Coin didn't want either of us to say anything, she didn't even want you to have a spear or trident-"
"So?" Quinn interrupted.
"You get a type of gun you'd barely know how to use, and she gets a custom bow and arrows?" he said in question. "I just think we shouldn't agree to do anything for Coin...at least not too much."
"You think she has some sort...plan?"
He shrugged, "Maybe." he paused, "Something just doesn't seem right about it." he said as Effy began to walk with Katniss towards the platform.
When she stepped up and took her place between Quinn and Orion, she didn't exactly look thrilled about the entire situation. But she also looked like she was past the point of being difficult and stubborn. At least that was how Quinn felt. There was no point of acting out about something like this. Effy handed Katniss a long pole, and then looked at each of them-- admiring the looks that she had helped put together, then wished them luck and took her place near the door. Then with that, bright lights were turned on and lights in the booth where Plutarch was turned on too.
"Okay, bring up the background..." he seemed to be saying to someone in there with him. "Alright, now, remember-- you've just stormed the outskirts of the Capitol with the other rebels." he reminded them and Orion let out an irritated sighed. "Quinn, Orion-- you two will start with looking back, and then turn around when Katniss stands up from being crouched down. Then Katniss, you hold the flag up, and deliver you line."
"This is how you kill a revolution." Orion mutter as the three of them took their starting positions.
"Ready...action..."
