WWE recapped the events from SmackDown last week which showcased the ominous warning from a shadowy figure along with the Brood style blood bath on the WWE Champion Randy Orton. Still feeling disturbed, the Viper is not in the building tonight, but rather in his tour bus, and the main event for tonight was a rematch from No Mercy as the Scottish Warrior battles the American Nightmare of Legacy.

As Cody walked into the Legacy's locker room, he was stunned to see Randy's locker adorned with religious objects such as the crucifix, Bible and the vial of holy water. Disturbed, Rhodes left the locker room and called the Viper to tell him the situation.

WWE hyped their next premium live event which was SummerSlam, and so far four matches were confirmed for the Biggest Party of the Summer:

Gunther (c) vs. Sami Zayn vs. Chad Gable vs. Bronson Reed - Fatal four way match for the WWE Intercontinental Championship

LA Knight and Jey Uso vs. The Bloodline (Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa) - Tag team match

Asuka (c) vs. Cora Jade vs. Charlotte Flair - Triple threat match for the WWE Women's Championship

House of Bliss (Roxanne Perez, Tiffany Stratton and Thea Hail) (with Alexa Bliss) vs. Damage CTRL (Dakota Kai, Kairi Sane and Iyo Sky) (with Bayley)

Roman Reigns (c) vs. Drew McIntyre - Singles match for the WWE Universal Championship

As for the WWE Championship match, Orton has been informed that he'll know his opponent tonight.

For Drew, his only objective is to win the championship in front of a live crowd, so he used it as his motivation for his match against Rhodes.

As Cody made his usual entrance, nothing seemed out of the ordinary so far, but as the American Nightmare was about to get in sync with "WHOA!" part of his song, the tune glitched and it switched from Kingdom to Rhodes' Undashing version of his theme while the Titantron glitched and flashed a winged figure with red eyes for a few seconds before going back to normal, as if nothing happened.

Cody shook it off and attempts to remain unbothered as he is focused on his match with Drew.

 The Scotsman made his entrance with his sword in hand as he is ready for another round with the American Nightmare; after impaling his sword into the ground, McIntyre marched his way to the ring and wasted no time as he traded punches with Rhodes. Drew used his brute strength to back Cody to the turnbuckle before tossing him over for a belly to belly suplex. Wasting no time, Drew set up for the Claymore, but Rhodes rolled out of the ring to catch his breath. McIntyre pursued Rhodes and slammed his face on the announcer's table before throwing him back in the ring to continue the action.

The WWE Champion came down to the ring to watch the action up close while keeping his head on a swivel in case of any mishaps such as the glitches from earlier. McIntyre fazed Cody with a vicious chop and gets him in position for a powerbomb, but Rhodes powered out and takes down Drew with a Cody Cutter and then a Disaster Kick, but McIntyre managed to get his shoulder up. More trouble came for the Scotsman as Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa came down to scout the action, per orders of the Tribal Chief himself Roman Reigns. Bounded by a common enemy in Drew McIntyre, Orton and The Usos surrounded the ring as the match goes on.

In an attempt to end the match a cheap way, the Viper distracted the referee while Jimmy Uso bounced McIntyre on the ropes, allowing Rhodes to hit Drew with not one, not two, but three Cross Rhodes. As the referee turned around, Rhodes went for the pin, but somehow, McIntyre managed to get his shoulder up at 2.99 seconds, much to the shock of the WWE Champion and the Bloodline.

Cody got the 250 pound frame of Drew in position for a fourth Cross Rhodes, but McIntyre got out of it, pushed Cody to the ropes, ducked an incoming punch and hits a Claymore. But as he went for the cover, the Bloodline broke up the pin, ending the match in a disqualification in McIntyre's favor.

The order the Bloodline received is to hurt Drew so bad that he won't make it or walk properly to SummerSlam and do it by any means necessary, and that includes striking a truce with the Legacy.

The Legacy and the Bloodline unleashed a 4 on 1 assault on McIntyre while Jimmy went to get two steel chairs and use it to crush Drew's right leg, which is used for the Claymore. Orton wrapped one of the chairs on McIntyre's right leg and gave the Bloodline the open shot to hit. But before No Yeet Jimmy can execute, the arena went dark. 

After a few seconds, red light shined down on the ring and on the stage was the coffin that was used for the WWE title match at No Mercy. Then on the Titantron was Playground Alexa Bliss.

Alexa: ashes to ashes. Dust to dust. In the fire, he was destroyed, but in the present... he is... reborn

Alexa lit a match, letting it burn for a few seconds before blowing it out, making the screen go black. Then a lightning bolt struck the casket as a new theme played.

Hands began to rise from the casket while the Bloodline and Legacy are in awe and filled with curiosity. Then a figure began to sit up and rise from the coffin; it was wearing a cone hat that farmers in Southeast Asia used to shield themselves from the sun; it also wore a top with a design depicting a red Philippine sun leaking blood; the bottoms were brown with pieces of rope wrapped around the waist and legs. The arms and hands were all wrapped with white wrist tape.

The creature of the night walked down the ramp slowly as it stared down at the four men in the ring. A name written in blood flashed on the screen while the theme played, letting the Bloodline and Legacy know its name is The Aswang, but the true identity shocked Randy Orton as the Aswang himself was the same man he burned... Alex Auditore.

The lights in the arena went back to normal as the Aswang removed his cone hat and revealed his true face.

Rhodes, Orton, Sikoa and Jimmy don't know what they have standing in front of them. Showing no fear, the Bloodline Enforcer went for an ambush, but the Aswang got him by the throat and manhandled Solo by dropping him with a chokeslam. Jimmy went for a shot, but Aswang Alex stopped him in his tracks by spitting red mist into his face, blinding Uso.

Rhodes and Orton were all on their own against the Aswang and the two tried to use the numbers game on the creature, but Aswang Alex fought out of it and takes Rhodes down with a V-Trigger knee and sends Orton over the top rope. Cody swung Aswang Alex with the chair, but the impact didn't register as the masked man turned around slowly to face Cody; the American Nightmare tried to escape, but Alex got him on his shoulders and flattens Rhodes with the One-Winged Angel, but now renamed the Fallen Angel.

The Aswang got on his feet and bit on his right arm as he stared down at the Legend Killer. The screen then showed the SummerSlam card graphic for the WWE Championship match, revealing Orton's opponent to be "Aswang" Alex Auditore.

The show ended with the Viper starring down at his newly reborn former student turned mythical creature of the night.
