Chapter 12: No Contest
Backlash was going live tonight with a small yet stacked card including the WWE Women's Championship match and the main event, the WWE Championship match.
As the show progressed, backstage cameras caught Drew McIntyre and Legacy's Cody Rhodes brawling in the locker room as the two men still look to up one another given their history outside of the WWE when they were both big names in the indy scene.
As for the WWE Women's Championship match, Cora Jade nearly pulled out the upset victory, but was cut short as Charlotte Flair interfered and took both women out, rendering the match result as a no contest with the Queen standing tall holding the title up while Cora and Asuka were laid out in the ring.
As for the other matches, the Judgment Day retained their Undisputed Tag Team Championship by defeating the LWO; Karrion Kross got the best of Bobby Lashley, but walked away with the win by technical submission due to the All Mighty not tapping out to the Kross Jacket; the Ring General Gunther's reign as Intercontinental Champion continued as he put down a very game Sami Zayn while Chad Gable stares the Austrian down; and "Big" Bronson Reed won a big heavy fight against Alpha Academy's Otis.
The main event is about to get started as both champion and challenger's bloods were boiling. The sadistic Viper made his entrance to the ring and went to the second turnbuckle, but now not doing his signature vintage pose as he only shows his sadistic serious facial expression, giving off 2009.
Then his former student, the current WWE Champion walked out to the stage and stared down at the Legend Killer while he held his title in his hand. Not doing his signature poses, Alex ran down the ramp, got in the ring and tossed the title to the referee as he unleashed punches on Randy Orton.
The Viper fired back with an uppercut, fazing the champion, but the Pharaoh kicked Orton in the gut and slammed his face on the turnbuckle before Irish whipping Orton to the opposite turnbuckle, and looks for a clothesline, but the champion scouted it as he ducked and took down his former mentor with a jumping dropkick, making Orton roll out of the ring to catch his breath.
Alex pursued the Viper, but fell right into his trap as Orton poked the champion in the eyes and slammed him on the announcers' table with a belly to back suplex. Orton grabbed Alex by his hair and top and threw him back in the ring.
The Viper slithered into the ring, and like a real life snake, stalked and measured his prey as he methodically stomped on the Pharaoh's limbs before he got on top and landed mounted punches on the champion.
Orton got Alex up and threw him to the turnbuckle and landed an uppercut to faze the champion in a groggy state. He then proceeded to do his ten punch combination before knocking him down with another uppercut for a quick pinfall, only for Alex to kick out at 2.
(Fast forward)
After nailing Alex with his vintage hanging DDT, the Viper went to that special place and looks to capture his 15th world championship with the RKO, but as he was going to hit it, Alex blocked and caught the Legend Killer with the Rainmaker as both men were laid out.
Alex dragged his tired body and placed his arm on the Viper, but as the referee counted, Orton managed to get his shoulder up for a count of 2.99.
Both men pulled themselves up as they used the ropes for leverage to get themselves vertical. Alex connected a kick on the Viper's gut and attempts to get Orton in position for the One-Winged Angel, however Orton landed punches on Alex's head and got out of the position before finally hitting the RKO on the Pharaoh. Randy went for the cover, but somehow Alex managed to get his shoulder up, much to the shock of the Viper.
The Legend Killer had his sadistic ace up his sleeve as went to the turnbuckle and measured the champion for the controversial Punt Kick. As Alex was in prone position, Orton went to punt kick Alex, but the Pharaoh tripped the Legend Killer, making him hit the turnbuckle.
Alex realized what transpired from the Viper and concluded the Orton tried to kick his head off. The WWE Champion's emotions got the better off him as he sent the Viper over the ropes and took the fight to the outside.
Alex: you tried to kick my head off?! You tried to end my career, huh?! You sick son of a bitch!
The Pharaoh and the Viper traded punches at ringside while the referee counted, but neither man listened to the referee as they continued to trade punches; the referee counted to ten and called for the bell, which resulted in the match to end in a double count out.
Alex and Randy continued to beat the living hell out of each other as the Pharaoh's lip was busted open and was bleeding from the mouth.
Cody and Drew joined the brawl to the ring as Auditore and McIntyre took the fight to Rhodes and Orton as security guards came out to separate the four men.
Alex grabbed two kendo sticks and took out the security guards with whacks while Drew did the same, however Legacy managed to escape.
Scouting the carnage in the ring, Alex and Drew sent messages to Rhodes and Orton as they took out the security guards with Claymores and AKOs. However, something was a little off of Alex as he licked and tasted his own blood that was leaking from his mouth. Remembering what TJP said regarding the Aswang gimmick, Alex must unlock that monster inside that is waiting to be unleashed, and the only way to defang the Viper.
The WWE Champion sent one more message to Legacy as he got a security guard up on his shoulders and takes him down with the One-Winged Angel.
Backlash ended with the shots of a stunned Legacy while Alex raised his WWE title high in the air as he looks to bite his wrist while Drew trash talked Rhodes.
