Chapter 5 Marinette's Iron Accident?
Two months later, Adrien and Marinette both still live in the house that use to belong to Bridgette Dupain-Cheng. They still have their own separate rooms. They bicker and argue, but not as often as they once did. In fact their arguments are down to twice a week.
Marinette decides she wants to get the wrinkles out of the curtains, along with some clothes. She sets up the ironing board, and iron. She waits for the iron to heat up, so she may use it. She gets out the things she wishes to press. She places them down neatly on the board.
Adrien smiles when he sees her. He does not notice the effect she has on him just yet. He notices she is about to steam press a few things.
"Here, would you mind doing these for me?" Adrien ask as he hands her a few shirts, and pants.
"I suppose I could do those. It will cost you fifty cent though." Marinette remarks.
"Here then, you can keep the change." Adrien responds, as he hands her a five dollar bill.
"Thank you!" Marinette says.
"Your welcome. I suppose I will get to work on the repair job in the downstairs living room area now." Adrien tells her.
"Wait, just a minute there Adrien!" Marinette says.
"Now, why would I do a thing like that for Miss Marinette?" Adrien snears at her.
"It is just you have a bit of ketchup on your lower lip. Let me help you with it." Marinette says. She takes a washcloth, wets it and wipes it off. She sees to her dismay another red smudge appear.
"It is not ketchup. That is where I got a bit of nick when I was shaving this morning." Adrien says.
"Oh, you poor dear!" Marinette says. Her eyes widen.
"It is no big deal!" Adrien says.
"Yes, it is. You got hurt!" Marinette remarks. She puts a hand over her mouth when she realizes what she just blurts out.
"It is alright, really. It will heal up just fine. Besides, it gives me a less beastly look anyway!" Adrien says.
"True, you do look less hairy. You look rather nice actually, I mean you are o-okay." Marinette says.
"It is okay. I know very well what you meant." Adrien says. He tips his hat to her and goes to sit on the front porch. He sits there and thinks, ugh! Why is she so pretty? What? He shakes the thought away.
Marinette does not notice that he struggles with his feelings. She just gets to work. She finishes the curtains in no time. She smiles, and hangs them back up. She thinks, there! Much better! Why even Adrien will not be able to find fault with them now! She goes back to work right away. She gets a huge stack of clothes down.
An hour later, she finishes the last item,a green jacket. She does not recall this. She shrugs her shoulders. She figures it is non of her business, when it comes to his things. It is not like she has a calm on him anyway. She accidentally sets the iron down on her hand as she gets to the end of the item. She whinces from the pain. She unplugs the iron, sets it down on the kitchen counter to cool and puts away the board.
Adrien comes inside to see what she has gotten done. He smiles when he sees the nice stack of now wreckless clothes. It pleases him to see how well she is with this sort of thing. However, he can sense she is hurt. He walks over to her and frowns when he sees the huge red mark as it appears across the bottom of her hand.
"Marinette, what did you do, woman?" Adrien scolds her.
"It is no biggie! I mean accidents like this happen all the time." Marinette yells back.
"No biggie, are you kidding me?" Adrien scoffs. He picks her up and carries her to the kitchen. He sets her down gently on the counter. He turns the sink on and gently pours some cold water over the burn to clean it. He turns the sink off four minutes later. He dries the wound with a clean paper towel. He picks her up again despite her protest to put her down. He takes her to the bathroom and sets her down near the sink. He gets out some ointment. He applies it to her burn. He bandages it up too.
"I will change the bandages for you and apply the cream to it as often as you need it." Adrien says.
"Why do you fuss so? I told you it is not that bad!" Marinette remarks.
"Not that bad? How could say that to me? Marinette, you are remarkable!" Adrien says.
"What? Me? Remarkable? I am not. I am just a clumsy girl who can not even do a simple chore without getting an injury." Marinette says.
"Do not say that about your self ever!" Adrien says angrily.
"I am though. I am not good at anything. I just manage to mess everything up." Marinette argues.
"Do not be ridiculous! You are more than that Marinette! you are a beautiful woman!" Adrien blurts out. He blushes when he sees her face turn pink. He can not believe he just spoke this out loud. He looks away from her in shame.
"Adrien, you think I am beautiful? I am not. I am ugly, immature, girl and that is all I shall ever be, so there!" Marinette says.
"Take it back!" Adrien yells.
"What if I do not. Then what?" Marinette argues.
"Then, I shall have to kiss you!" Adrien thinks, opps there you have gone and done it again!
"Why do you not then?" Marinette remarks with a smirk.
"Why do I not what?" Adrien responds.
"Why do you not kiss me?" Marinette teases him.
"Okay, but remember you were the one to ask for it." Adrien teases her.
"Ask for wh-what, A-Adrien?" Marinette mutters.
"For this!" Adrien says. He leans in closer to her. Before he can stop himself, he puts one hand beneath her chin, and the other on her right cheek. He can hear her sigh. He can not stand it anymore. He sees her close her eyes. He thinks, now she is made me want her more. He closes the gap between them as he kisses her on the lips. He expects her to move away, or push him away.
When Marinette just remains there in all her beauty, he pulls her off the counter and onto his lap. He feels like can barely breathe with her lips under his own. He does not know what this means. He just knows whatever it is wonderful! He gasps as he feels her return the kiss. He deeps the kiss. His tongue feels hers meet his. He hears her moan, and smirks. He takes that as a good sigh.
Adrien feels her wrap her arms around his neck. He undoes all the buttons on his shirt. He does not know where this leads only that in the moment, he does not want her to go anywhere. He feels her arms go lower and moans as she touches his chest. He removes his shirt. As it falls to the ground, he holds her in his arms. He feels her shift a bit. He opens his eyes. He sees her kiss his chest.
"Mari, I never meant to love you!" Adrien says huskily.
"Adrien, I love you too!" Marinette says huskily. She takes off her outer shirt to reveal a small red tank top with white stripes across it.
