Chapter 0

Off the Coromandel coast in the Bay of Bengal was an island. One of the biggest ones on the planet. It had everything a country could ask for - minerals, fertile soil, gold veins, diamond mines and natural gas, although not distributed well.

Since ancient times two nations have inhabited this land, the twin nations of Dharma Ksiti, the Land of Dharma on the west and Bhadra Ksiti, the Land of Protectors on the east.

As neighbours, the two countries had fought since ages. Bhadra eyed the gold veins of Dharma and in turn Dharma wanted Bhadra's diamonds. The Murdhan/Kudhra range that ran across the island formed the border of the two countries, confining the fights to the coasts. Dharma called it Murdhan. Bhadra called it Kudhra. The two nations never agreed on a single thing.

Yet to young children all parents told that was the Paru range. It was the old and original name of the mountain string.

However, these mountains did not keep the two countries from conflict for long. With technology came better access. With that came contiguity. With contiguity, as in any other case, came an opportunity for a great pillage and a much needed precursor to that, a great war.

An imminent great war.
