Immortal (3)
Raine felt herself leaning on a warm back as the wind blew through her hair. She had long fallen into a fever and her consciousness was in and out.
When her eyes slightly opened, she could see a worried face looking down on her as the girl wiped her body with medicine. The worried face was one that Raine would never forget. The worried girl had pure white hair and large, black ink eyes. It was as if she was an otherworldly creature. Her her full, pink lips were bitten with her own white teeth with worry as she wiped Raine down, over and over.
When darkness came over Raine again, she lost sight of the beauty and fell into her nightmares. Inside of her dreams were her time in the Training and Transformation Center. What she was put through to increase her mental and physical endurance was too cruel. She couldn’t escape, she could only scream when it got too hard for her.
Somehow, when her nightmares were getting too real for Raine, she felt a soft weight over her body as if she was being held down. However the weight brought a sweet scent along with it, which calmed her down enough to remember that it was only a dream.
Raine relived her nightmares over and over, she could hear herself screaming at the top of her lungs, and that soft weight with the sweet scent was always next to her. She could even feel the warm hand that held her hand.
There were even times she heard a soft voice comforting her while wiping Raine’s tears. Promising Raine a lifetime of companionship. Raine wanted to open her eyes and wake up from her nightmares, but she couldn’t force her body to do so. Ayla’s body was too injured for Raine to completely control it.
Finally one day Raine opened her eyes and the afternoon sun shined brightly into the small room. The window was open and let a cool breeze blow through, bring with it the scent of flora.
Raine looked down at her body and it was completely wrapped up in gauze with a light blanket over her. Her hands came up to her face and it too was wrapped up. Raine knew from Ayla’s memories that Ayla had a scar, from her left eyebrow, down her left eyelid and stopped at her cheek bone. At the moment, Raine could only see through the right side of her eye.
Her head was also wrapped with gauze as well. Where Ayla was hit with a rock, it was still tender as Raine touched the wound lightly, feeling it to see if it was really cracked.
The door opened with a creek as a small girl with copper hair came inside, holding a tray with food and medicine. The moment their eyes met, the girl quickly placed the tray to the table furthest from Raine and ran out of the room.
Raine laid back down and waited for her journey to begin as Ayla. For now, she was only 14 years old. Her physical and mental strength was weak. If she was to get revenge on those who hurt Ayla, she would have to get stronger. Time is the only thing she has now to ensure the success of her mission. Also with time, she would let the villagers think that they are safe, they will forget about Ayla and when Raine takes her revenge, the villagers would remember her until their dying day. She would truly become a red headed witch, just for them.
The sound of several footsteps running towards her room could be heard. The footsteps came closer and closer as her doorway was filled with four shadows.
One was High Master Monk Ece, 1st Disciple Evren, 2nd Disciple Nermin, and 4th Disciple Naz, the copper hair girl from before.
“My poor girl, you’re finally awake.” Ece said as she walked up to the bed and felt Ayla’s forehead. When Ece didn’t feel any temperature difference, she finally let out a long and loud sigh. She smiled softly down at Ayla and motioned for the medicine and food to be brought closer. “You have been blessed by the Gods, that is why you're still alive. If not for Their blessing, you would have long given into your injuries and left to walk the reincarnation road alone. Thank the Gods they are still watching over you. Blessings be upon you, child.”
Ayla looked at the four people in her room, however she kept her eyes on her hands that laid on her stomach. Her shy behavior made Ece want to shower her with love and comfort.
“You are safe now.” Ece said as she took out a pill from the vital on the tray. “No one will hurt you anymore. Not here. Never. Understand?”
Ayla looked into Ece’s eyes for a long time, searching her eyes to see if Ece was lying to her. After a long time, Ayla finally nodded her head in understanding and opened her mouth to receive the pill.
Ece’s smile soften and placed the healing pill inside of Ayla’s mouth. Alya swallowed the liquid down her throat and could feel the medicine begin working immediately.
“What’s your name child?”
Alya bit her lower lip with nervousness before she answered. Her eyes did not meet anyone there when she spoke.
“Ayla.”
“Ayla. What a beautiful name.” Ece said softly as she brushed Ayla’s messy hair back. “My name is High Master Monk Ece. My 1st Disciple, Evren, found you and brought you back with me.”
