Heiress (8)
He felt jealous knowing that Addison couldn’t get over her ex-boyfriend’s death. How great of a man was he that Addison couldn’t move on with her life? Craig could never settle for being second best in anything.
They became silent as the both of them fell into their own thoughts. Craig was thinking about his relationships with Silver and Addison.
Silver and him had a complicated relationship. Their intense relationship as friends with benefits made courting other woman hard for him. Although he wanted to quit being friends with benefits with Silver, Silver knew what he liked too well, for him to break it off with her.
It wasn’t all of Silver’s fault, it was his fault as well. They brought out the best of each other and the worst of each other.
As for his friendship with Addison, he wanted it to grow and be more than friendship. She was everything that he wanted in a woman. She was his dream girl.
Everytime she came to Pleasure and sat alone in the VIP area, he could practically feel the loneliness that she wraps around herself like a shield. She was hurting so much, but she buried that hurt while she was around others and only showed it when she was alone. It was only when she was alone that she showed her true self.
He wanted to hold Addison close to him and tell her that she would never be alone with him by her side. However Silver would show up and remind him that he and Addison could never be together as long as he has a relationship with Silver.
As for Raine, her thoughts ran with memories of Valentin. The way his eyes shined when he smile. The feel of his hands against her body and how intoxicating his scent was when they were in each other’s arms.
Raine didn’t know if she would be able to be intimate with anyone, anytime soon. Her succubus soul was constantly hungry and the sexual energy she absorbed at Pleasure Nightclub was barely keeping her alive.
Their lunch at Chez Luis was restrained and polite. The both of them were hiding their true thoughts and didn’t really pay attention to their surroundings.
If they had, they would have seen Silver sitting with some of her friends at the back of the restaurant. They would have seen her glaring at them while her friends where encouraging her to confront them.
It was only when Silver came up to their table that they both of them noticed Silver’s presence.
“So.” Silver said as she sat down at the empty seat next to the both of them. “What a coincidence that we all are eating lunch here, today.”
“Silver.” Craig said as he was surprised by her sudden appearance. His eyes quickly looked from Silver to Addison, then back to Silver.
“My feelings are hurt that I wasn’t invited.”
“It was a last minute meet up. I had a meeting near Addison’s company and invited her to lunch spontaneously.” Craig said as he tried to clear up the situation.
“Really?” Silver said as if she didn’t believe him.
“Really.” Craig said as he became annoyed. “Besides, my whereabouts are not your concern. And who I spend time with is none of your business either.”
“You’re right.” Silver said as she looked over at Addison. “However as my friend, you should have told me Addison.”
“We’re just having lunch.” Addison said back with a bored look. “Don’t make it a big deal, when it’s not. Besides, you don’t report to me about what you do and who you’re with. So I don’t have to do that either.”
Silver glared at Addison silently and Addison didn’t break her gaze. Addison could see and read Silver’s feelings flicker from jealousy to guilt to confusion in Silver’s eyes.
Why did Silver feel guilty towards Addison. Did Silver do something to Addison that she feels so guilty towards Addison?
“Silver, if you don’t have anything good to say to either of us, I think you should leave.” Craig told her as his patience wore out.
“And if I don’t do as you say, are you going to take me to the back to try to fuck me into compliance?” Silver taunted. “Are you going to try to show me who “the man” is? Or are you going to try to see who here wears the pants between the two of us?”
Raine had to drink her wine to hide her smile. She really liked Silver. Her smart and defying mouth was very agreeable to Raine’s personality.
“I think you should leave before I get really angry.” Craig warned her.
“My, my, my. Is the impeccable gentleman, Craig Leafheart, going to lose his cool and act ungentlemanly towards a woman?” Silver pretended to gasp in surprise as she reached up to her neck to hold her invisible pearls. “In front of witnesses and especially in front of Miss Addison Evermore?”
“There’s nothing going on between me and Craig.” Addison told Silver.
“Of course there isn’t. To you there isn’t, but to Mr. Leafheart, between you and me, he so wanted to jump your bones the moment he saw you.” Silver whispered loudly to Addison. “Hell, even I want to jump into your bed, the moment I saw you. But we can’t, because your perfect, deceased prince charming still holds the key to your heart, which in turn, holds the key to your pussy.”
