Forgiveness (6)
The next morning Willow called Rhea and they set up a time and place to meet for lunch. As noon came around, Rhea kissed Gage on the cheek and left to meet her sister.
When Rhea got to the restaurant Willow was already there waiting for her.
“Willow.” Rhea called out.
Willow turns her head towards Rhea and smiles. She stands up and gives Rhea a big hug before letting her go.
“I hope you didn’t wait too long.” Rhea said as she sat down.
“No I just got here myself.” Willow told her. “I ordered us a drink, if you don’t mind.”
“Of course not! I’m not picky.” Rhea tells her.
Willow and Rhea spend the rest of the lunch catching up. Their excited voices could be heard as they share their lives with one another.

Willow smiled wider at Rhea as she takes her glass of water and drinks it.
“Blaine?” Rhea asked as she saw from the corner of her eye the familiar face of her best friend. “What are you doing here?”
Rhea frowned and worriedly look over at Willow, however Willow did not show any of her feelings on her face. Willow continued to act as if she wasn’t bothered and had not heard Rhea speak, nor look towards Blaine.
“Rhea. Willow.” Blaine said before he sat down at their table.
“Why are you here, Blaine?” Rhea asked as she looked at him suspiciously.
Blaine stared at Willow the whole time, hoping that she would look at him and acknowledge him.
“I need to speak to Willow.” Blaine told Rhea, but his eyes never left Willow. “We have some unfinished business to take care of.”
Rhea looked between her sister and her best friend and she wasn’t happy. She didn’t want the past to repeat itself and cause another 5 year long distance relationship with her sister.
“You need to leave. Willow doesn’t want to speak to you.” Rhea told him.
“Willow can speak for herself. If she doesn’t want to speak to me, then she can tell me herself. Right, Willow?” Blaine told Rhea, before addressing Willow.
Rhea looked back at Willow and Willow still continued to ignore Blaine.
“Now is not a good time, Blaine. Maybe you should try again when she’s ready to speak to you.” Rhea tried to mediate between the two of them.
“She’s ready. She’s always been ready. It was me who didn’t realize what was in front of me.” Blaine said out loud.
Willow’s eyes finally flicked up to look at Rhea. Her stone cold face changed within a second and she smiled gently at Rhea.
“It’s okay, Rhea. I’ll give him a chance to talk.”
“Do you want me to stay close by, just in case you need me?” Rhea asked as she felt herself worry.
“It’s okay. I’m a big girl now, I can handle him. You go home to your man and I’ll call you tomorrow. Maybe we can grab dinner after you’re done teaching.”
“Okay. I’ll give you a call when I get home from work.” Rhea told Willow.
Willow gives Rhea a hug before Rhea leaves and sits back down. The waiter clears up the table and Blaine orders a drink. The silence between the two begins to build up as Blaine struggles with himself. He doesn’t know where to begin.
“You want me to set up a timer so you can begin talking?” Willow asked. “That is why, you’re here today, aren’t you? To talk to me?”
“Now that I have your attention, my words and my thoughts can’t seem to be formed.” Blaine confessed. “I’m looking at you and I’m just filled with so much happiness and love, but I also know I need to apologize to you.”
“Why don’t you start there.” Willow suggested.
Blaine sighed out loud as his drink was brought up to him.
“Thanks.” Blaine said to the waiter before he took a sip of his whiskey before setting it down. “I’m sorry, Willow. For all the hurt I caused to you and your sister, but mostly, I’m sorry to you. I approached you with false intentions. I lied to myself about my feelings which in turn caused me to lead you on and make you believe that I have feelings for you. I broke up with you because I thought it was the right thing to do, but I didn’t realize how much my actions affected you. Because of this, I seperated you and your sister for 5 years and caused you even more pain. Can you find it in your heart to forgive me.”
Willow sighed and thought about it for a moment.
“Thank you, Blaine, for apologizing to me. I accept your apology.”
Blaine suddenly smiled which caused Willow to look away. The light in his eyes was too alluring, she couldn’t take it.
“Now to continue about what I said yesterday. I like you, Willow. Really like you. I want to properly date you, for you. Not because you look like Rhea, the two of you are nothing alike. But because you’re you.”
“You know nothing about me. We haven’t spoken or seen each other for the past 5 years, how can you like me?”
“Because,” Blaine said desperately as he leaned forward to her. “The you five years ago, was not the woman my soul loves and recognizes. The you today, in front of me, is the woman I moved mountains for, blocked the winds for, shielded the rain for, and ran through the fire for. You are the woman I traveled through space and time for. The woman my heart yearns for. The woman, my soul seeks and follows after. The woman before me today, is the woman I have always loved and will forever love. So can we stop pretending for a second, so I can hold your hand?”
Raine felt her whole body freeze for a couple of minutes, not believing that her words last night would cause Lui Wei to remember their past lives together. She had planned for Lui Wei to slowly remember their memories during each transmigration mission. She had spent lifetimes, planting seeds in his memories, giving hints, repeating conversations, trying to remind him of their past. And last night, when she told him to remember, he did.
To be able to remember her and their love, Raine wasn’t ready for this moment that she dreamt about for so long.
[Host… did Lui Wei break you? Knock, knock… is anyone home?]
