A/N:  Sorry for the long wait.  I had a death in the family and needed time to grieve.  I do not plan on dropping this book, so for those who were worried that I was... This story arc is not a long one, but it will have gore towards the end of the story arc.  Please read at your own risk.

When Raine opened her eyes, she was surrounded by a forest.  

“Scam, are we in a zombie apocalypse again?”  

“No.”  Scam said as he showed up beside her in his human form.  

“Then where are we?”  

“Anselhall Forest, forest of the Wooden Elves.”  He told her. “Sending you the ‘Last Dying Wish’ now.”  

Lyrei was born from a lowerborn family, she wasn’t really skilled in life.  Her fighting, Wooden powers and education was all below average. She didn’t live an exciting life, but she was alright with doing what she could do to help the Wooden Elves.  Even if it meant taking unwanted jobs that other Elves didn’t want to do.

However, this world respected the strong and looked down on the weak.  Lyrei was constantly bullied by her peers. However with her upbeat attitude, she never let the bullying get to her and change her into a Dark Elf.  

Inside of Anselhall Forest, there is a second dimension that opens up every 1000 years, for three months.  In the second dimension, there are valuable treasures and medicinal plants that could be brought back to help the Wooden Elves.  

Lyrei did not plan on going to attend or participate in the second dimension.  She knew she was too weak to go and her life would quickly be taken. However she tricked into following her friend, who guided her to the opening and was pushed in.  

Inside of the second dimension, Lyrei could only run and hide.  However, due to pure luck, she runs into many treasures that helps her survive.  Although she had many treasures to help her, she was still a coward, running away from danger and hiding until she felt it was safe enough to travel.  

On one of these occasions, while running away from the pack of wolves, Lyrei passed by another Wooden Elf.  Mina was surrounded and was becoming overwhelmed by a 15 foot bear. Lyrei makes her way to help Mina, however she wasn’t a good fighter, so she didn’t contribute to their fight.  

Instead, Lyrei could only help Mina survive, as Mina pushes Lyrei into the claws of the bear and runs away, to save herself. Mina then runs into the male lead, Arlen, where she lies about Lyrei becoming a Dark Elf by pushing her towards the bear.  

Arlen goes to see the bear and sees the bear fling Lyrei’s  body back and forth. Arlen fights the bear and kills it, to find out that Lyrei had not died yet.  On her body were several treasures that was helping Lyrei survive. Arlen kills Lyrei, believing Mina’s lies and takes all the treasures from Lyrei.  

With Lyrei’s treasures, the male lead became even more strong and untouchable.  While Mina becomes one of his many bed warmers. Lyrei dies not knowing why she was killed.  

Lyrei’s ‘Last Dying Wish’ was to not be so naive and become the strongest Elf so she would never be tricked or be bullied by others again.

Raine had just transmigrated to the part where Lyrei would be surrounded by a pack of wolves.  Instead of running, Raine stays in her spot and speaks to Scam.

“Tell me, can you feel your other half that is with Isao?”  

Scam searched the area and shook his head no.  

“Maybe my other half is really damaged and is sleeping to recuperate it’s powers.”  Scam told her.

“Before, you said you chose me to be your Host.  And yet, Isao said that Headquarters granted his wish to tie his soulmate to his system too.  Does that mean that he chose me?”

“After hearing Isao’s recounting of the past, some of my fragment memories are starting to make sense.”  Scam confessed. “I believe that when his soul tied himself to me, it was his soul that found you, but it was also me who chose you.  Does that make sense?”

“Yeah…. what other fragment memories are making more sense now?”  

“Headquarters might be after us because they didn’t expect Isao’s wish.  Never in the history of Headquarters has any Host wished to tie themselves to a system.  To continue to travel through space and time, for eternity, without the authority of Headquarters, without rules for the Host’s and systems to follow.  It can be a dangerous thing. Headquarters could not control Isao’s movements, nor hold him accountable for the lives he changes in each world. Although they granted his wish, due to contractual obligations, they also want to get their own property back.”  

“So they are coming back for you?  They don’t want anyone else to have their creation.  A powerful system that can change the lives of a whole world.  That could possible destroy several worlds.” Raine said as she connected the dots. “How were you able to hide from Headquarters for so long?”   

“Defense mechanism, I suppose?”  Scam told her as the wolves arrived in front of her.  “I don’t know myself? Maybe because of Isao or my other half?”

The wolves snarled at her and Scam.  They waited for the Alpha’s order before attacking, however Raine reached out her hand and stared into the Alpha’s eyes.  She made a mental connection with him and began to negotiate with him. Her mental awareness opened up and she began to project her intentions to all of the wild animals in a 100 yard radius.  

Her message and intentions were quickly spread to other animals and the wolves stopped snarling.  One by one, they left Raine and Scam alone.

“Finally using your skills instead of fighting everything.”  Scam teased her.

“I can still fight with you if you keep on opening your mouth.”  Raine threatened as they walked towards Mina and the bear.

“Still violent as ever aren’t you?  Haha...what now?” Scam asked her as he tried to steer her away from beating him up.  

“Continue with the Last Dying Wish of Lyrei.  Find Isao. Get answers while fixing you up. Run away to another world before Headquarters finds us again.”  

“It’s not going to be that simple.”  Scam told her.

“I know, we just have to take it one task at a time.”  

Raine stops 20 feet from the fighting scene and jumps into the trees.  She makes her way towards Mina fighting the bear and watches.

[You’re not going to continue with the story line?]  

“Hell no!  She deserves to die.  Just want to see if the male protagonist is going to come to save her in time and see if he is my Isao.”  Raine told him.
