“What is Natural Magic ?”  Raine asked as she saw her list of options.  

[Natural Magic, involves the knowledge, manipulation and control of magic that can be found in host’s surroundings.  For example, on Earth, Host is surrounded by wind, water, fire, dirt, light...etc, all sources are from natural environment.  With Natural Magic skills, Host is able to use the natural environment surroundings of the transmigrated world to Host’s benefit.]  

“Then I choose Natural Magic and Poison Knowledge.”  Raine decided. “Spend 5,000 Soul Force Points to upgrade system.”

“What the hell!?!”  Raine asked as her body came back to her room.  She was only in the Training and Transformation center for a second before being thrown out.  

[Please wait while system is upgrading…. please wait…. please wait…]

“Scam System!”  Raine shouted into the air.  “Couldn’t you send me to the Training and Transformation center WHILE you upgrade?!? ARGH!  So frustrating!”

Raine pounded her chest to calm herself down.  Raine laid down in her bed and watched the red city skyline.  Slowly her eyes became heavy and she fell asleep.

The moment she woke up was the moment she became angry at the Scam System.  The Scam System sent her to the Training and Transformation center right after it got its upgrade.  Without warning, she was in a soft, warm bed, then the next moment, she was flung into training her Natural Magic in a frozen waste land.  

She had to learn how to manipulate the natural resources around her and once she learn how to do it, she was then thrown to another place, where it was a desert to do the same.  From one world plane, with different environments to another, she learn how to manipulate and control the elements.

She spent 3000 years to learn Natural Magic and another 3000 years to learn Poison Knowledge.

When she was finally transported back into her room, she fell asleep the moment her head hit the bed.  It was too tiring to master each skill. She needed to rest her mind and body.

When Raine woke up, her eyes met a ghostly sphere that hovered over her head.  Her hand passed right through it and Raine watched as it quickly moved around her head.  

[Welcome back, Host!  System Upgrade has successfully downloaded.  Would you like to learn about new system features.  Yes/ No.]

“Yes.”  

[ With new System Upgrade, Host is able to name system.  Would you like to name your system now? Yes/No]

“Yes.”  

[Please say system’s new name.]

“Scam System.”

“Great.  Is there anything else I should know about your upgrade?”  

[ Host is now able to see Scam System.  Only Host can see Scam System and Host is able to send Scam System on missions to help Host succeed in missions.]  

“So… you can now be my little lacky…”

[Helper!  Helper! Scam System is Host’s H.E.L.P.E.R.!!!!!]  

“Okay, little “helper” lacky.”  Raine said as she smiled at the ghostly sphere.  “Anything else new with your upgrade?”

[No.]   

“Scam System, send me on my next mission.”

[ ‘Cannon Fodder’ Mission accepted.  Transfering… please wait….]

Raine’s eyes opened and she immediately looked around her surroundings.  

There were six guards standing throughout the tea room at all exit and entry points.  The young man in red, who sat at the head of the table, was not in a good mood. His eyes stared angrily at Raine and blamed her for her incompetence.  

“That young lady, find out who she is and why she’s here.”  

Two of the guards immediately were dispatched and left the room while the young man began drinking his tea again.  

“Nyx, you have failed me.”  Yoru said as he stared down at his tea.  “Since this is the first time you have failed, I’ll overlook your mistake.”

Raine immediately kneeled and bowed her head.  

“Thank you, young Master for your magnanimity.”  

“Go back to your room and reflect on your mistake.”  

“This servant will obliged.”  Raine said before standing up and walked out of the tearoom.  When she closed the door she turned around and stopped in her tracks.  The lobby was filled with blood and men with missing fingers, hands and arms.  

The first floor was a chaos as there were guests leaving without paying, staff apologizing and cleaning the mess.  Raine walked towards her room and entered.

“Show me the ‘Last Dying Wish’ request.”  

Nyx was a maid for a cannon fodder character in the book, Second Chance.  The main character of the book, met her character in a restaurant, near Parker Forest.   

She was the lowly maid, who was sent out by Young Master Yoru to get the main character to meet him, after giving out a hand to help the main character.  However Nyx’s request was quickly dismissed and Yoru was not able to find out who the young lady was.

Afterwards, due to Nyx’s incompetence, she quickly fell out of favor with the Young Master Yoru and he sold her off to a brothel.  Her life became even more tragic, when she hurt one of the patron’s and was then sold off to him, where he left her to his friends to be tortured.  

When she died, she wished that she could be strong, so she would never be taken advantage of ever again.
