Chapter Six: Savior

                    _-_-Little-_-_

Little opened her blurry eyes slowly, finding it hard to do. Her head pounded and she felt sick.
She groaned and rolled over, blinking. Where am I?
She saw the metal bars and felt the slimy floor and memories flooded back into her brain. The phantoms. The fire. The bunny. All of it.
Ooh! I hope we fought off the phantoms from the forest! I hope my friends are okay..
Suddenly, loud agonized screaming filled the cell, so loud Little's head pounded harder and her ears began to ring. It was just horrible to listen to, as her eyes were beginning to mist.
What's going on?! Who is that?! Why are they screaming?
Just as Little was pulling her paws to her ears, the screaming became weaker, fading.
Until it stopped.
Little brought a paw to her muzzle her eyes wet. The suffering was unbearable, even though she wasn't the one in pain.
"No!" A female voice, quite familiar.. "Please, I'll get out and not say a word,"
Little shuddered. Where did she know that voice?
"No! No!" The female voice cried. "Nooo!"
Her roars were cut off suddenly, silence washing over the room.
Little growled her fox growl. What ever had happened to her, it couldn't be good.
"Hey."
Little flinched. A dark face showed in front of the rusty cell bars.
"You're Little Rainycloud, correct?"
Little struggled to her paws and half fell half scooted backwards into the cliche slimy cobblestone wall. A phantom had come to take her away!
"It's alright," The figure looked left and right cautiously, then pulling down a hood to reveal her face.
She was a silver arctic wolf with dark gray lightning bolts and green eyes.
"We don't have much time."
Little padded up to the bars cautiously.
"What is your name?" Little asked.
"Eternal Wingedcat." She responded bluntly.
"D-do you have the keys?" Little wanted to make sure she could be trusted.
Eternal held them up in answer, unlocking the door. "Come. Follow me. If we're spotted, run as fast as you can and don't look back."
"O-okay.." Little followed her as she made her way down the hall. "How have you not been spotted?"
"Apparently, it's hard for them to tell the difference between a phantom and a hooded animal." She snorted. "They don't have good eyesight."
ZZT
A blue flash of electricity flashed on the stone right next to Little's right front paw.
"Run!" Little yelped, powering forward after Eternal.
A phantom popped out of a corridor ahead, making the arctic wolf stop in her tracks. Little didn't stop though. Remembering the move she pulled with Blooming, she ran up Eternal's back, leaping off her head and kicking the phantom hard.
It wasn't dead, but it was dazed.
"Come on!" Little shrieked at the Eternal. "Show me the way out!"
Eternal quickly came out of her daze and bolted forward, baring her teeth with determination. "This way!" She barked. "We're almost there!"
She skidded into a turn into another corridor, Little following behind. Little smacked into Eternal's rear end as she was frozen. Little peered around her to see what was stopping her.
There were five phantoms gaurding a large green swirling portal lined with cobblestone and a tree symbol at the top. The phantoms were moving to surround the two escapees.
Little backed up and hit a squishy body. They were surrounded on all sides. Two of the phantoms ahead were holding chains attached to metal colars in their tentacles.
"Can you fight?" Little asked the wolf.
"Y-yes, a little.." Eternal responded, clearly shaking, her tail between her legs.
"Then we have to fight." Little growled and tried to equip a weapon. Only, she had none. They were gone!
A phantom lunged for Eternal, harshly shoving her to the ground. A second phantom followed suit. Little lunged to help, but a phantom intercepted her. Little growled at the phantom and slashed her claws across its chest, causing it to fall to the ground. They were now outnumbered seven to two.
With the hope that Eternal was faring well, Little took down another phanton by dodging a zap to hit it,.but in the process, recived a blow to the side from an unseen phantom.
Suddenly, she saw a path to the portal.
"Eternal!" Little shouted and shouldered a phantom out of the way.
Eternal struggled to her paws, covered with scrapes and bruises.
"The portal!" Little barked.
Eternal understood at once and they both dashed to it, successfully passing through the portal.
