Awesome had begun to grow bored and tired circling the sky, his eyelids drooping every once and awhile. His ever-blurring gaze scanned the charred Saripea horizon, alert for movement. Or, as alert as an exhausted eagle could be. Something moved near the Saripea tunnel and Awesome snapped into focus, eagle instincts locking in to what he spotted.
Two forms. An arctic wolf and... A fox...
Awesome dove immediately down to the forms, eyes locked on them.
"Little?" He cawed, patterns and color beginning to register. "Little!"
He landed a bit clumsily in front of Little and the arctic wolf.
"Little, we thought you were dead!" He flapped his wings once in distress.
Little gave him a half hearted smile. "And I would be, if it wasn't for Eternal here." She gestured to the arctic wolf.
Awesome bowed a bit in respect to Eternal, smiling. "Thank you for bringing my friend back in one piece."
Eternal smiled and bowed as well in greeting. "I practically had to carry her!"
Little shoved Eternal lightly, though her attempt to look happy was seen through by Awesome.
"Is everyone else okay?" Little asked, glancing around the eagle.
"We- I- S-Snowflake..." Awesome stuttered, not prepared for this conversation. "Snowflake is missing."

Little's eyes widened as she suddenly remembered the phantom chambers. The screaming. The familiar screaming. She knew exactly who it was.
"It was Snowflake!" Little screamed, dropping down. "It was Snowflake who was next to me! I should've saved her! I could've saved her!"
Awesome and Eternal both flinched at Little's sudden outburst.
"What?" Awesome squaked. "You saw her?!"
"No... No.. No!" Little wasn't finished with her breakdown. "She was screaming... Crying out in pain... Begging for mercy!" Little spat. "She was innocent!"
"Little, you're scaring me." Awesome said, Eternal appearing to agree. "Why are you using the word 'was'?"
"No! She's not dead. I know she's not dead!" Little hissed. She then looked up, eyes shining with determination. "We need to raid the phantom chambers."
Eternal opened her mouth to respond, but was cut off by a commotion from the beach.

Awesome whipped his head around, eyes locking into the beach. The rescue mission was arriving... Already?
There weren't as many as there were when they had left, and there were many wounded being carried or dragged. He spotted Blooming stagger out onto the sand and collapse, a large gash in her chest.
Awesome and Little darted side by side to the beach, leaving a confused Eternal behind. Little reached Blooming first, nudging her friend's paw and snout.
Meanwhile, Awesome had spotted someone else.
"Apoc!" He flapped to his friend's side, eyes scanning the many cuts and bruises all over his unconscious friend.

Should I just tell them...? Eternal walked behind Little and her eagle friend, towards all of the other Jammers. Eternal wasn't comfortable around so many people.
Will it help or harm anything? She snuck around everyone to the waters edge, soft cold waves lapping over her sore, blood-crusted paws.
I feel like I should be doing more... Her green eyes shimmered and the wind ruffled her gray coat, her ears flattened to block out the commotion behind her.
I wish Greely had given me more instructions... Eternal dragged her paw through the soft sand. You would think your own father would leave you better prepared...
