Never to return

I don't know how long I cried but my sorrow turned to rage somewhere in that time.
He hadn't left my side, taught me how to hunt, helped me hide my fear when talking to Crimsons, Ivy and mountain folk, he always said what was on his mind, he jumped down after me to make sure I wouldn't get killed and he was always there for me.
He was like a brother to me and he was slain down with a poison blade and the tiniest cut.
"Why couldn't it have been you?" I ask angry at Rivy after he told me how he died saving his life.
"I wish it had been" he says but obviously he doesn't he's too happy to be alive to realize that the world just lost.
"He should've let you die" I say and walk towards the queen,
"Ilverna?" The Queen asks
"Sure" I say
"Don't blame the healer for your friends passing, he will be rewarded for his service by Krelf themself" she says placing her hand on my hand,
"He lead a life of a Hunter Krelf will punish him for every creature he took" I say because Krelf is the most powerful god, they do not have a gender for they are everything and their touch is said to give a person a second chance at life after dying by being allowed to stay as a passed soul amongst the living souls.
"He will not be punished for his actions for he gave his life saving millions, Krelf will with no doubt let him return as a passed soul" she says but that means that he knew Rivy would be important.
"Tharf?" I ask because she can take the future and let the living see what is coming in complex dreams only the wisest can decode.
"If Tolx figured out what she was trying to tell him he was only following the gods wishes as an act of loyalty so don't regret his passing cheer it, he was given the greatest honor to pass in service to the gods"
"He would never have disobeyed a wish from the gods" I say because I know now that Krelf will let his soul walk with us warning us and giving us strength in battles.
"He wouldn't want you to mourn him after an act of loyalty and honoring the gods would he?" She asks
"No he would want me to make sure Rivy does what he died for so his death protecting a Yaalker isn't a complete waist of life" I say because even though I loved Tolx like a brother I knew he had doubts about the gods and dying as their wish would only be to prove to himself that they are watching over us.
"Ilvtan has gone to the war but she will need your help to build the barrier and Ilverna keep a close eye on your sister so she won't look to dark magic" she says and I nod.
She lets go of my hand which means I'm excused.
I leave and run into Ealoxk that is polishing Tolxs daggers.
"How are you?" He asks and I pick up one of Tolxs daggers tracing the skull on the end.
"I'm going to the war" I say and put the dagger down
"What?!" He asks
"Ilvtan needs my help" I say
"I'm coming with you" he says standing up
"No" I shoot out not wanting to lose someone else.
"Niztal you're not allowed to tell me what to do" he says
"I don't want to lose someone else" I say
"And I don't want to lose you" he says
"Rather me than you" I say and take the daggers
"You don't know where the war is" he says
"I have a feeling I'll know where I'm needed" I walk away praying to Krelf he won't follow me.

I'm standing in the middle of an arrow rain.
The grass is burnt and the two sides shoot arrows and giant rocks at each other.
The sound of raging men and women and the clashing of their armor grow as they charge forward into battle.
I find myself holding hands with Ilvtan amplify our powers and the ground starts to shake.
Ilvtan takes control and the ground starts to rise slowly in front of us so I concentrate and it moves a bit faster so I close my eyes.
The sound of arrows and rocks dies as the sound of the ground rising and molding becomes louder while the wall gets higher.
The battle cries die as the warriors stop in fear and shock.
I feel as if someone is crushing my skull and feel my hand start to slip but Ilvtan grips tighter not going to let me go.
Something flies at the wall piercing through it so Ilvtan gets every kind of metal and melts it together with the wall making a skeleton out of metals to hold the wall better.
I can see the melted metals slither up the wall like vines forming small Hexagon patterns.
"Take the witches!" Someone yells but I have a vivid vision of a cage around us and I vision it forming as I hear it form around us.

When the wall is done we both fall to our knees tired.
"Gods help us and keep the wall standing" Ilvtan prays
We both pass out the cage protecting us from the warriors outside.

I'm standing in a field of flowers as a woman stands her back turned to me.
I walk towards her the flowers making a pathway to her.
"Miss Navieta" The woman says looking out over a glass castle down the hill.
"Do you know where you are?" She asks and I look at her, she has dark skin, shining hazel eyes and curly black glowing hair.
"No" I reply and look at the castle,
"You are on the road to the palace" she says
"I've passed?" I ask with both panic and relief.
"No, I called you here Tharf tried to tell you but time is not on our side so I got to arrange this little meeting" she says and I'm speechless
"Mister Rivy will be needed when your war ends and he will not survive without protection so I am asking you to stay by him to make sure he gets to where he's needed" she says and looks at me exposing a scar going down the left side of her face and I realize that I'm speaking to none other than Therlans
I look back at the palace and realize that there are more than just the palace.
All the beliefs are real,
The Remgars who believe that after passing you become a whole called death is a tall figure in black with no face only light under its hood,
The Lemrans who believe that their god comes personally and gets them is a beautifully decorated man in a long white robe with purple decoration and he leads a group of passed souls to the gate which the Death stands by,
The Armjens who believe that a god was born amongst men but could only do and say good not capable of evil and he went into the land of the passed at sixteen only to help the passed in the land,
The Angelmakts believe in no god only the souls of the passed called angels and demons and places called heaven and hell,
And many many more.
It surprises me that they all fit together.
"Why me?" I ask without thinking
"Because his life must be protected and you have been chosen for the job"  she says
"Will you swear to protect and follow him?" She asks "because your gifts can be as easily removed as they were given"
"I swear to protect his life" I say and as soon as the last word leaves my lips everything goes black.

I wake up in the cage and I don't hear anything as the winter sun sends its cold beams through the cage walls.
I inhale the chilling air and exhale creating a small cloud of warmth before it disappears.
I sit up looking around realizing that there's the crystal winter mist over everything.
There's a gap in the cage and Ilvtan is gone probably wondering trying to get back.
My eyes seem to keep looking down the trail that seems to be forming as hooves clap against the frozen sand.
"Niztal Navieta" a Knight in black armor says on an armored...Pegasus?
"The Foster king requests me to see you to his palace" the Knight says and I remember that Rivy is the hair so how long was I out?
I get on the Pegasus back and he takes off.

The Knight explains how the Pegasus and other creatures are alive, apparently Arox kept a male and female of the rarest creatures hoping to use them in battle but never wanted to let them out afraid they'd flee.

We get to the forest palace which is a castle out of black sand and has Ilvtans trace all over it.
The Knight leads me to a large throne room where the king sits but not Rivy.
"You must be Niztal Navieta" the king stands up to shake my hands his long dark hair pulled back in a low ponytail,
"Why am I Here?" I ask
"Rivy request that you were to be taken here when you woke up" the king explains
"Where's Rivy then?"
"He's out in the streets helping the healers"
"He's getting attacked" I say without thinking
"What?" The king says confused
"Excuse me your majesty" I say and he nods excusing me.

I find Rivy in an alleyway bruised and bleeding as he's clutching his hands on his right side.
"Niztal" he says happily before he grimaces in pain obviously drunk.
"We're going away" I say helping him up
"Where?" He asks
"Out of the five kingdoms you are obviously not welcome here" I say heading for the healers center to get him bandaged up before we go to the docks and get on a ship.

I watch as we sail away and my home gets further and further away from me.
I look away walking into the cabin the captain loaned us where Rivy is sleeping his drunkenness away.
