Adrenaline

"Niztal you're not-" my mom starts but Tolx bursts in with a split lip golden blood running from it and a beat up face, with Oyeta and Lolyth behind him also bleeding.
"They damaged the alarm" Tolx says and we all hurry to go up to the emergency room but then I remember that grandpa is still down there so I jump back down.
"Niztal No!" My mom yells and someone lands behind me.
I find my grandpa but I'm too late.
"NO! LEAVE HIM ALONE!" I yell at three Crimson soldiers that are collecting my grandpas blood in small bottles but I'm ripped back and out of the soldiers view as a strong hand covers my mouth.
"There are more that way" someone says and I see the soldiers walk towards my family's emergency room.
I struggle to get free and succeed I run towards them and yell to get their attention and it works because the next thing I know is an arrow flying through my shoulder but instead of bleeding gold I bleed iridescent white.
"She's a Cloud?!" One of them says confused before running towards me but I'm quick and I manage to run despite the pain.
"Niz!" I hear Tolx behind me so I stop an see the soldiers are laying on the ground.
I notice that Tolx has red blood on his hands, chest and axe.
"Tolx What are you doing? You shouldn't be here" I say but he just looks at my wound in unbelief.
"You shouldn't be here ether" he says when he comes back to the real world.
"Foxinir" he states and grabs my hand leading me away.
We sneak around the soldiers and their Qurerolkans to Foxinir.
"Foxinir?" Tolx bangs on the door and a few moments later Foxinir opens and let's us in because his wagon looks like something someone abandoned hundreds of years ago plus he has a secret hatch that could hide two people...but...we're three.
Foxinir breaks the arrow as adrenaline flows through me.
"This is going to hurt" Foxinir says and before I can question what he's doing he pulls the arrow out and puts pressure on the wound, I'm so close to screaming my lungs out but that's what gets you killed so I hold it back and only a small whimper escapes as white blood runs down my black top.
"I thought they were extinct" Tolx thinks out loud.
"Hand me that cloth and that bottle and put pressure on the wounds when I let go" Foxinir points at a piece of complete white and clean cloth and a glass bottle with some black liquid in it.
Tolx obeys and Foxinir pours a bit of the liquid in the cloth as Tolx keeps pressure on my wounds and his grip is stronger than Foxinir so it hurts more.
"Now take that cloth and put it in water before she passes out" Foxinir says and Tolx obeys but as soon as Tolx lets go Foxinir puts the liquid soaked cloth on my wound and I pass out from the pain almost immediately.

I wake up alone on a hard table in the complete blackness.
I feel a sudden stabbing pain in my shoulder and I hold down a scream.
"Foxinir, she's awake" I hear Tolx say to my right in the darkness.
"Tolx? What the-" I say but stop as the pain is too bad.
I open my eyes and adjust to the darkness.
"Foxinir?" Tolx asks but we're the only two here.
I realize that we're under the wagon so we're trapped.
"Tolx what's happening?" I ask because I can feel the wagon moving.
"I don't know."
After a few minutes we stop and the hatch is opened.
"Good you're up" Foxinir says and helps Tolx up then they help me up.
"Where are we?" I ask but Foxinir just jumps out energetic his white long beard bouncing gently as he lands on the ground and we follow confused.
I pet Angus the horse that drags the wagon but Tolx keeps his distance.
Foxinir knocks on a door to a small house that I didn't notice until Foxinir knocked.
The door opens a bit and Foxinir whispers something before the door opens completely and a tall boy stands in the doorway with blond hair falling over his sky blue eyes and the only thing I can think of right now is 'Wow'
"Who are you?" Tolx asks suspiciously but he's not a Crimson nor an Ivy so what is he? All the features point to a Forester but Arox made sure to kill them all with Qurerolkans loose in Feraty and all the villages and they are still there.
"I'm Rivy and you are?" The blond boy asks.
"Tolx and this is Niztal" Foxinir says Tolx too suspicious of Rivy to say anything more.
"Foxinir why are they here?" Rivy asks politely.
"We need to see your book collection, you owe me" Foxinir says trusting the boy completely but Tolx is still suspicious.
"Come on inside" Rivy says and we go inside and I notice that he has a small wound behind his ear that bleeding silver not black and not white iridescent but silver and I guess Tolx sees it as well because he stops me by putting his arm out.
"How do we know you're not just some crazy son of a bitch?" Tolx asks and the boy traces his finger behind his ear and it is silver it isn't the lighting he's a mix, a Yaalker as they're called, but they are usually killed at birth.
"Because I'm not" Rivy says and he convinced me.
"Well that's enough to convince me" I say and bypass Tolx who just looks more suspicious but he's like another older brother to me so he follows me.
I enter and see Foxinir looking through the bookshelves that seem to be endless.
"Can I get you anything?" Rivy asks with a friendly smile.
"No" Tolx answers quickly still not trusting him.
"do you have some water?" I ask because my throat feels dry and it hurts.
"Nope, sorry Navieta but you can only drink this because of the medicine I put on your wound" Foxinir says holding out a small bottle of some kind of dark liquid.
"Is that ink?" I ask just to be sure.
"No it's a mix of herbs and...well you don't want to know the rest" Foxinir says and I suddenly don't feel as dry in my throat.
"You know what I think I'm good"
"So how old are you two?" Rivy asks trying to start a conversation.
"I'm 16 he's 18, you?" I ask curiously.
"18" Rivy says and he's exactly the opposite of every boy in my village, they're all big tough closed off fighters because that's what encountering the Qurerolkans at least three times a week and mostly three times a day does to you, but Rivy is big yes but he looks like a softy, he's open, he also looks like he wouldn't even know what a Qurerolkans is and he also looks as if he wouldn't even kill a spider in his house or a fly in his face.
"So where are you from?" Rivy asks
"All over the place" I say as we sit by a table and Tolx keeps giving Rivy the death glare.
"Could you tell your partner to back off?" Rivy asks feeling uncomfortable with Tolx staring at him like the enemy.
"He's not my partner he's my friend and is more of a brother really" I say as Tolx face is unchanged.
"Really?" Rivy asks.
"Niztal? Can you come here for a moment?" Foxinir asks so I stand up and Tolx follows like some sort of a knight bound to protect one person and one person only.
"No, just Niztal" Tolx sighs irritated and sits back down.
"What is it" I ask when I get to him.
"Here read this out loud" he points at a line and I do as I'm told,
"The one who seeks to destroy what cannot be destroyed must sacrifice something bigger than everything in their eyes" I read and I think of my mother, brother and sister.
You're probably wondering why I'm not freaking out? It's because we're taught to stay calm, come up with a plan and finding the family that way because patients is the key to most things.
"I knew it! You're a Witch" Foxinir whispers so the boys can't hear.
"What?! How-? But-? What?!" I'm in shock, I don't really know how to finish a whole sentence.
"What is it?" Tolx asks behind me now.
"Can we get this book and two others? Thank you." Foxinir says before Rivy can answer.
"Niz? What is it?" Tolx asks worried
"He's lying" I say taking a deep breath
"Wait, you're a Witch?" Tolx whispers so Rivy wouldn't hear.
'Damn his hunting and people reading skills' I think
