Demon of Shadow and Flame

-your POV-

The sounds of drums become stronger and louder. I fell the foul smell of orcs increasing by the minute. My head started to hurt lightly and I could hear the stone structure shake violently. That's when I can't take it anymore. I shift into the biggest wolf I've been.

I growled anger at it and pounded on the orcs then barged thru the wooden door. Soon the cave troll came. It was big but not the biggest I've seen. I was a small sight bigger than it so I had a good advantage.

I went straight for its throat. As soon as I had bit down in the flesh, its blood started to pour out on my white fur but I didn't care. If I killed this, we will be a little safer.

Suddenly the troll got enough and grabbed me and slung me against the stone wall. The air got knocked out and I fell unconscious. But before I fell in the darkness, I heard my companions calling my name and the cave troll fell.

-a/n POV-

"Sevgelia! Please wake up.." Legolas called out to the she-dragon. Tears threatened to fall but he hold them in. Aragorn was beside him, checking Sevgelia for any wounds but found only a bit slash in on her stomach.

It was bleeding heavily but soon as he touched it, a light emerged around her and the wound started to heal. "Cín touch na- farn nin beloved men." Sevgelia beamed weakly in elvish as she sat up. Both Legolas and Aragorn took their hands to their hearts and head, in thanks that she's alive.

"Its man na see in cuin, Sevgelia,Legolas said warmly as he helped her up. Sevgelia smiled at soon she was tackled in a hug by the hobbits. But their little moment was cut short as they heard more drums.

"To the bridge of Khazad-Dûm! He shouts. Gandalf leads the Fellowship into the huge Dwarfordelf chamber. "This way!" Gandalf calls again. They hurry towards a distant door ... as goblins start scuttling down the pillars behind them, like cockroaches.

Frodo looks with horror at the overwhelming goblin army that's rushing towards them. Suddenly, a deafening roar fills the air. A fiery light dances down the hallway ... the pillars castings eerie shadows. The goblins freeze. They back fearfully away from the approaching beast ... melting into the darkness.

"What is this new devilry?" Boromir asked. Sevgelia still in her wolven form, starts to growl loudly. She walks in front of the fellowship and stands protectively. Then Gandalf says something that makes the hair on her back stands up.

"A Balrog ... a demon of the ancient world! This foe is beyond any of you." He starts. "Run! Quickly!" He suddenly yells startling Sevgelia who was focused on the new treat she'd started to see visions off.

-little time skip to the staircase of  Khazad-Dûm-

The balrog, a massive creature rises from a chasm, a great 40-foot man-beast, with a mane of flames! On one hand, is a blade... like a stabbing tongue of fire; on the other, a whip of many thongs.

Aragorn leads the fellowship to the top of a dizzying stairway ... Gandalf follows, leaning heavily on his staff.  Aragorn and Sevgelia look at Gandalf, concerned. "Lead them on. The bridge is near," he says but Aragorn and Sevgelia hesitates ... Gandalf looks at them. A stern look on his face.

"Do as I say; Swords are no more use here," he says. Aragorn and Sevglia do as he says. The Fellowship race down the stairway. Aragorn then picks up Frodo... leaping across a gaping chasm ...Gandalf yells to the others.

 Aragorn makes to throw Gimli across the chasm, but he states angrily "nobody tosses a dwarf" Sevglia smile that he at least find some humor in this situation. She feels the balrogs power flow thru the hall. She bites her lip in frustration, hoping that she will maybe be able to help them and get them out of this situation.

Gandalf then suddenly shouts "You cannot pass! " Sevgelia turns 'round and stares at the two opponents in horror. That's when she feels it. Fire swirling around her, turning her into the beautiful beast she is. When she is fully turned, she roars a roar that matches the roar of the balrog but is stronger.

"Gandalf!" She bellow, spreading her wings and takes off in a jump. She crash into the balrog, sending him down on the ground. Gandalf smiles in awe at the beautiful creature that stands before him. He has seen Sevgilia before but now he sees that she's become bigger. Much bigger.

"You will not hurt my friends, Demon of Morgoth. I am Seveglia the White, the dragon queen. I serve those who can not defend themself. I encountered far more terrifying beasts than you, fiery scum." Siviglia spat, fire-spitting at each word. The Balrog seems hesitant but whips its whip and lach it at her. it only a bonce of her hide, not even making a scratch.

The fellowship watches in awe as the giant white dragon stands on her hind legs. Her leather wings spread to their full length, touching the walls around the chasm. The balrog tries again but only earns a menacing growl from the dragon. It then makes its choice to go forward and try to beat the dragon with touch. But as soon the Balrog steps forward, the stone bridge drops away into the gulf... from under the Balrog. For a moment, the great beast remains poised in the air... then it plunges.

Relief floods everyone's face ... Sevgielia remains trembling on the lip of the broken bridge.  She had shifted to her elven form when the balrog lashes out with his whip offire...  The thongs of the whiplash and curl around her knees, dragging her over the brink! Sevgielia just manages to hang on by her fingertips.

"Sevgilia!" Frodo screams. Sevgilia looks him in the eyes. They almost don't hear her words as she says. " I am sorry that I am no longer able to protect u, Nin meld friends. Ech- an i glad -o Lorien" Sevgila lets go of her grip and falls away ... following the Balrog into the bottomless abyss.

"No!" Frodo screams. "Sevgilia!" Aragorn yells. They rush towards an archway only to see nothing more than the bottomless darkness.

-time skip-

The fellowship tumbles out with Gandalf in the front, of the Great eastern gate onto agrassy sunlit hillside. Sam, Merry, and Pippin fall slowly to the ground, sobbing...Aragorn turns to legolas and Gimli. " Legolas, get them up." he urges. Boromir looks at him, heartbreak and sadness burn in his eyes.

"Give them a moment ... for pity's sake!" Aragorn turns and looks at him. His face is almost emotionless but still sadness floods over it. "By nightfall, these hills will be swarming with Orcs! We must reach the woods of Lothlórien. Come Boromir, Legolas, Gimli, get them up. On your feet, Sam." Gandalf says nothing but gets on his feet and helps the others to get the hobbits.

Boromir glances towards Frodo, then back at Aragorn. Frodo is walking away, as if in a daze.  "Frodo? Frodo!" Aragorn calls. Frodo slowly turns... a look of numb shock on his devastated face. The Fellowship marches on.

<DIMRILL DALE HILLSIDE - DUSK>

Aragorn and Gandalf scour ahead of the Company, as they stumble on in the fading light ... in the distance, the shimmer of a large forest can be seen ... Lothlorien!

<EDGE OF LOTHLÓRIEN- DUSK>

The Fellowship runs across a forest floor strewn with yellow flowers... above is a roof of golden leaves, held up by silver pillars... the trunks of huge, grey trees.  Legolas, taking in the surroundings as if a return home.

"Ah, Lothlórien. The fairest of all the dwellings of my people. There are no trees like the trees of this land, for in autumn the leaves fall not, but turn to gold. Not till the spring comes and the new green opens do they fall, and then the boughs are laden with yellow flowers; and the floor of the wood is golden, and golden is the roof, and its pillars are of silver, for the bark of the trees are smooth and grey. So still our songs in Mirkwood say." he tells the fellowship.

In contrast, Gimli looks nervously around... "Stay close, young Hobbits ... they say a great sorceress lives in these woods. An Elf-witch of terrible power. All who look upon her fall under her spell..." he says as he scotches closer to the hobbits. Then suddenly a voice echo in their minds.

"If u call her a witch, I will tear your flesh from your bone and leave the rest of you to burn master Gimli." it hisses. The fellowship freezes. Legolas and Aragorn look around them to see the source of the voice but find no one. The voice is gone.  Frodo hesitates ... a strange voice whispers in his head...

"Frodo..."

"your coming to us is as the footsteps of doom. You bring great evil here, Ring-bearer." The voice echo. "Mr. Frodo?" Sam says behind him. "Well, here's one Dwarf she won't ensnare so easily. I have the eyes of a hawk and the ears of a fox!" Gimli states proudly.

The fellowship is suddenly surrounded by armed elves. Deadly arrows are aimed at their heads. Haldir, the elvish captain,steps forward... "The Dwarf breathes so loud we could have shot him in the dark."

<CERIN AMROTH, LOTHLÓRIEN - NIGHT>

The night is deepening amongst the windy trees. The Fellowship stands on a platform in the trees. Haldir greets them. "Mae govannen, Legolas Thranduilion." he says to Legolas. Legolas answers in the same tongue. "Ovannas vîn gwennen le, Haldir o Lórien.

Haldir glances at Aragorn and says. "A, Aragorn in Dúnedain istannen le ammen." "Haldir." Aragorn answer. Gimli then hiss angrily "So much for the legendary courtesy of the Elves! Speak words we can also understand!" Haldir is about to answer but they are interrupted by a beautiful laughter echo thru their minds.

"Why would they do that, master Gimli? It's polite to speak elvish to those who understand. You, mortals, do not need to understand something like this but I can assure u, they said nothing of importance for your ears." Soon the voice is gone again, but Legolas can see a figure sweep around them.

-Time skip to where Boromir tells Frodo that Seviglia's death is not in vain.-

"Sevgilia's death was not in vain. Nor would she have you give up hope. You carry a heavy burden, Frodo. Don't carry the weight of the dead." This got the voice to laugh, but it soon contained itself and vanished again.

Suddenly Haldir stands before Frodo.

"Very well. Here we will stay awhile, and come to the city of Galadhrim on the morrow."
