Chapter twenty two: Reunited.

(Y/n) knew her father had been defeated. She had felt his terror and rage as she felt him get further away from her. The little girl knew it was over. She walked the halls of the hotel and looked in the room that she and her father had used as a bedroom. It still smelled like him slightly. The girl heard the team moving Caesar's body to transport it back to Italy so he could be given back to his family. The child heard the rest of the Speedwagon foundation special forces and Speedwagon himself come to the old hotel. Smokey must have been staying on the transport with Lisa Lisa.
The blond elderly man walked the halls, perhaps looking for the child or observing the hotel where the ancient beings had habitated. He had no idea that the daughter of the leader of the pillar man was at the top of the stairs and watching him. "Where is Jojo?," the girl asked and made the old man jump. He held his hand over his chest and looked up to the child. He knew she had lost everything, the only one left standing of her race. Speedwagon took off his hat, "Stronheim reported that Joseph did not make it. The volcano that he and your father were fighting on erupted and shot both into the upper atmostphere."

Her red eyes closed and she bowed her head, "I'll allow myself to be taken back to the foundation headquarters without a fight." She descended the stairs and followed Speedwagon, she still trusted him. She knew he truly did not want to hurt her. Speedwagon felt a small hand wrap around one of his fingers. He looked down and saw the little girl had reached up to grab his hand. She was not trying to eat him or anything. It was just for comfort during this emotional time for her. All four of the people she had lived with and cared for for so long were gone. Speedwagon did not need to say anything. Neither had to say anything. They both understood. Speedwagon led the girl back to the transport to be checked for injuries just in case. Luckily there were none.
(Y/n)'s eyes looked to Lisa Lisa, she was unconscious still... "I know that Lisa Lisa is Joseph's mother.," (y/n) said, "I smelled it on him. Daddy said that mama and Lisa Lisa looked similar. I don't know if that is true. I don't even know my mother's name or who she was. All I know now about her is that she was a human."
The child took the horns of her two fallen uncles from her bag, they two horns were still warm. Like they were still attached to the men they came from. She hugged the horns before she put them back into her bag.

The plum haired girl's hand brushed against something that had not been in her bag before. That's right. Her father gave her something before the battle. Her small hands grasped the object... no... objects and pulled them out. It was a necklace shaped like a Cresent moon and a bead circlet with moons, a sun and stars on it. It was too big for her head and it looked older than she was. Her father's scent and another's was on it. A woman's scent. The girl looked to the moon pendant and flipped it over, in ancient lettering was a message. 'For my human. -Kars'
Her father must have given it to her mother before she died. These were her mother's. The little girl put the moon pendant on and put the circlet back into her bag. She was quiet as they made their way back home. Lisa Lisa was taken to a hospital in London, she recovered from her injuries quickly. She woke up the next day. (Y/n) felt ashamed of the injury her father inflicted on the woman and the child refused to go see her with Speedwagon. She instead stayed with Erina and Smokey.

Smokey was polite as he spoke to the child, no doubt shaken up by learning who her father was. The girl was polite but hesitant to be as friendly as she was before, perhaps scared of changed opinions of her. Erina did not treat the child any different, even after learning of who her father was and the connection to the mask. Erina, who was a schoolteacher, taught (y/n) on lessons she had missed before. The girl knew that things were strained. Joseph was gone. Erina's son, George, was also gone. Jonathan was gone. All because of the mask that Kars had made and given to his daughter. The plum haired child could not help but feel that this was all her fault.
She could not even look at Lisa Lisa when the woman was allowed out of the hospital, the child just waited for that hamon strike that would kill her. But it never came. Lisa Lisa was on her knees in front of the child that had her eyes closed and waiting to be killed. The hamon user saw the two horns in her hands and knew they had to belong to Esidisi and Wamuu. "I'm not going to hurt you.," Lisa Lisa spoke gently to the child, "I can understand what your father did to protect you, I don't blame you for that. I don't blame you for anything that happened."

"I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Your son, your student, they were hurt by my family.," (y/n) cried to the woman who was before her. The brunette did not strike her or berate her, Lisa Lisa pulled her into an embrace. It was an embrace that felt warm and parental, what the little pillar had been missing her whole life. The embrace and care of a mother. Her hands still clutched the warm horns that her uncles left behind after their deaths. Lisa Lisa held the girl as she continued to cry. Lisa Lisa, Elizabeth Joestar, gave this child the motherly support she never had as she cried.
Speedwagon and the Joestars continued to care for the child pillar and treat her like another one of the family, even though she felt like she had no right to their kindness. The plum haired girl continued to stay with the Joestars and went to the funeral for Joseph two months later. Smokey and Lisa Lisa's servant, Messina, also attended as they knew Joseph personally. (Y/n) stood next to Lisa Lisa and Speedwagon as the priest read passages from the Bible during the funeral. It was a grey and rainy day. The guests all left while the remaining Joestars after the funeral, Smokey and Speedwagon stayed behind for a bit to look at the gravestone a little while longer. The air around them was heavy and solemn. (Y/n) looked at the stone headstone that sat above the empty grave. Joseph's body was not found. It probably burned up in the atmosphere.

The sound of a car approaching came before the vehicle was shut off and doors opened. Speedwagon leaned down to Erina and suggested that perhaps it would be a good idea to get out of the rain. Erina said she was fine and would want to say goodbye to her grandson a little longer. Lisa Lisa held (y/n)'s hand as they looked at the headstone. A heartbeat made the young pillar look up, she felt a human man approaching with her horn. Behind her, she heard a familiar voice speak, "Guess who?"
The red eyed pillar girl looked behind her to see Joseph covering his grandmother's eyes. Joseph had a grin on his face as he greeted everyone. (Y/n) kicked his shin and made him topple over onto the wet ground, she grabbed him by his shirt. Her red eyes looked like a mixture of anger and sadness. "You idiot! We thought you were dead!," the little girl yelled at him and gave him a headbutt, knocking him back. She felt one of her horns crack and a trickle of blood come from it. "Dead? I sent a telegram!," the British man said as he rubbed his head. "There was no telegram!," the little girl said angrily as Joseph stood up and got a whack to his thigh by the little girl's umbrella.

Joseph looked to the headstone with his name on it and to the woman walking up behind him. The woman was telling Joseph that he should not be in the rain and that he was still recovering. She gave him an umbrella. Messina recognized her and said her name was Suzie Q., Lisa Lisa's maid! The matching rings between her and Joseph tell everyone that they were married. (Y/n) watched as Joseph chased Suzie around, demanding an answer for not sending the telegram. So she was ditzy. The plum haired pillar looked back at everyone, they were just as much in shock of Joseph being alive as she was.
The girl watched as the newlyweds walked back to their family and friends, she stared at the blonde woman that Joseph had married and sniffed at her. She smelled a little of Esidisi's scent on this woman. The woman looked down at the little girl with wide eyes, she backed away from the girl. Almost like she was scared of the child. Esidisi must have used this woman as a puppet as a last ditch attempt to give the stone to Kars. The girl stepped up to the woman, "I'm sorry what you had to go through. I want to apologize to you for my uncle's actions."
Suzie looked down at the little girl and nodded, she must still be a little traumatized from the experience. Joseph nudged his wife, "(y/n) is not like her family. She's not going to hurt anyone." (Y/n) could see how uncomfortable Suzie was and returned to be by Speedwagon and Lisa Lisa. "You're going to have to tell him soon.," the little girl said to Lisa Lisa. The brunette nodded, "I will."

(Y/n) moved to America with Joseph, Suzie Q. and Lisa Lisa. She mostly lived at the Speedwagon foundation for almost a year before being legally adopted by Joseph and Suzie. Lisa Lisa told Joseph that she was his mother, Elizabeth Joestar. They had become a happy family together. Suzie later became pregnant with a daughter. Their family had grown. The pillar child was protective of her human stepsister and made sure she was not bullied by anyone, even putting herself in danger to keep her safe.
She had gotten into fights at school to protect her sister. Joseph had told her to at least hide her superhuman strength and horns if she had to fight the bullies off. The plum haired girl agreed to do at least that. She was able to scare off the bullies after the first few fights. The girl got into trouble for fighting and for correcting the history teachers. After elementary school, Joseph and Suzie Q. knew that it would be hard to hide that she was not human from the rest of the kids and pulled her from school to home school her.
Thankfully, Holly, her stepsister, was no longer being bullied thanks to how kind the girl was.

Their family suffered loss when Erina died. She passed peacefully, thankfully. The plum haired pillar prayed that she and Jonathan had a happy reunion in heaven. Everyone mourned for the loss of Erina. (Y/n) stayed with Speedwagon and at the Speedwagon foundation for a while after that. She found him after he had a heart attack and called the foundation members. His last will was in his desk, the will telling what he wanted the foundation to do after he died. As a lifelong bachelor, he had no family to give his wealth to. The final one of (y/n)'s friends from the time she lived with Jonathan died. She attended his funeral and said goodbye to him.
The child pillar returned to living with Joseph and Suzie. Holly was happy to have her sister to play with and talk to again, but she was growing up so fast. The red eyed girl stayed with the Joestars before she got the itch to go explore and train on her own for a while, coming back to check on her family or get a checkup at the Speedwagon foundation headquarters.

During her travels, she returned to Italy and met a blond actor who thanked her for saving his life. The girl said it was the least she could do for him and that he should focus on his life now that he had a long one ahead of him. She did give him the addresses of places to write to if he wanted to stay in contact with her. When they departed, he tipped his black and white checkered top hat to her and smiled as a twinkle of friendliness was in his green eyes.
She returned home to America a few years later and found her stepsister met a Japanese man and married him. Holly moved to Japan, much to Joseph's disapproval. (Y/n) lived with her adoptive parents for many years before going to live at the Tokyo headquarters of the Speedwagon foundation to be closer to her stepsister.
