Chapter twenty three: The new age
Life at the Japanese headquarters of the Speedwagon foundation was quite different from the American headquarters. (Y/n) quickly learned the language and got settled in, though. She actually liked how peaceful Japan could be and usually was at night when she would wander. Every culture had its ups and downs, but every one was interesting. The plum haired girl would go see her stepsister at night. She was quite happy when she found out her stepsister was pregnant. She was about to have a nephew or niece! The young pillar was happy for her sister and brother in law. She congratulated them.
The girl still traveled to Italy to visit the actor she had saved almost fifty years ago. He would ask her questions when she visited. Things like, "How is Jojo doing? Are he and Suzie Q. doing well?", "Is Holly okay?" And "are you doing well with your training?"
The actor still looked good for his age, he must have not stopped his training, even though he had given up mostly all of his energy when the girl saved him from being crushed all those years ago.
(Y/n) answered all the questions she could. "Have you told Jojo about me yet?," the blond actor asked as he talked to the little girl again when she came to visit him. The plum haired pillar took another bite of gelato before answering, "Not yet. I don't know how he will take it, he thought you were dead." "I thought I was as well.," The Italian said, "But you saved me. Even though your uncle was trying to kill me."
The girl looked up to the man she was sitting beside, "Because I have respect for human life, Caesar. Wamuu had a little respect. Esidisi and father lost theirs the night mama was murdered by hamon users." Caesar took a bite of his gelato as he listened to the child. He looked basically the same as he did all those years ago. "So, Jojo is an old man now?," Caesar asked. "Very. He has a beard and everything.," The girl chuckled, "At least he keeps his beard trimmed though. Mama Suzie is doing well, she aged gracefully."
"I always knew Jojo was easygoing.," the Italian man chuckled and leaned back.
Caesar smiled and ate the rest of his gelato before standing up and stretching, "Well, it was nice to talk to you again. It was a good break from the shoot. Would you like to see the set or do you have to go again?" "I have a little time.," the little girl replied and hopped up onto Ceasar's shoulder, "So I don't mind hanging around you for a little bit longer." The blond Italian walked back to the partially enclosed building he was filming in with the girl on his shoulder.
He was greeted by the film crew and other actors and actresses. They did not question why he suddenly had a horned child on his shoulder. Not until the director came looking for Caesar. "Zeppeli! Why is there a kid on your shoulder? Is she supposed to be another extra for the scene?," the director asked and pointed to the girl on the man's shoulder, almost pushing against her nose. "That actually sounds like a good idea, (y/n), how about being an extra in the scene we are about to shoot?," Caesar asked. The plum haired girl nodded and hopped off if his shoulder, over the head of the director and landed lightly on the floor. "What do I have to do, Caesar?," the red eyed girl asked. The blond man pointed to a place for her to be at and explained that she could play with some of the other child extras on the set in that area. He explained that they needed some kids to run out in front of him and the other lead actor.
The plum haired girl understood and waited for the cue to run across the set with the other children, it was easy to as one of them started tickling the rest and chased them. They passed by the actors at the directed time, all laughing and trying to get away from the tickler. Thankfully, that scene was good enough to keep and they could keep shooting as the kids ran around in the background of the scene a bit more. They all legitimately played through the filming of the scene and had a little fun. (Y/n) jumped out of reach when the director yelled cut, over the set and back onto Ceasar's shoulder.
"Was that fun?," Caesar asked. "Doing the scene or scaring half the people here with my stunt?," (y/n) inquired. "Both.," Ceasar replied with a small smile. The child pillar shrugged, "It was kind of fun. But I like scaring humans better." Caesar chuckled as he walked to his dressing room for a costume change, he figured she would have had a little fun with the humans on set.
"Are you going to stay here for a little bit more or..," Caesar asked. "My flight back to Japan leaves in two hours. I can make it.," the girl replied and dropped off of the blond. "I can take you to the Airport.," Caesar offered. The girl shook her head, "You have your work here to do. I have to go back to Japan. But I had fun playing with you this morning."
She gave him a smile and a hug to his leg, "You know the phone number and postal address if you want to contact me again! I'll tell Jojo. We can meet up again. It will be fun!" Caesar smiled as he watched her run off into the streets of Rome. A gentle breeze blew past him as he did, with it came the faint memory of the wind warrior and the kind feeling of forgiveness. With a warm heart, Caesar turned his attention back to the movie he was acting in. His resolve restored after remembering the noble warrior he had fought years ago.
The blond Italian knew that everything was okay. He took a deep breath before exhaling, the charge of hamon he got surged through his body. A noble and proud hamon warrior to the end. This was Caesar Zeppeli.
(Y/n) ran straight to the airport and was able to catch her flight. Her small body ran to Holly's home, she jumped over the wall and right into the yard. Quietly she followed the scent of her nephew. Due to timezones, it was night in Japan when it had been only noon in Italy. She felt a small human wandering around and heard some sniffles. She found a boy wandering around the house and crying softly. He must have had a nightmare. The pillar girl walked up to him quietly, his ocean green eyes turned to look at her. He had some small tears on his cheeks.
He seemed a little startled by her sudden appearance. Neither had seen each other since he was a toddler. He seemed to be about five now. The plum haired girl offered her hand to him. He stepped back and shook his head, "I don't want to be spirited away, Kijo-chan." (Y/n) pulled her hand back before snickering, "Jotaro, I am not a demon. My name is (y/n) and I am your aunt." The little boy did not seem to be convinced. "I won't hurt you. But, you need to get back to sleep.," the girl said and held her hand out again, "You can choose to believe me or not. It is your decision."
Jotaro did not seem to trust this girl who seemed to just appear in the house. The girl used her sense of smell to locate Jotaro's room and stayed with him until he went back to sleep. She wandered quietly through the large traditional house her stepsister and brother in law owned. Her brother in law was not around. He must have been on tour again as a jazz musician. (Y/n) found a sitting room, a Zashiki, she could use this to wait in for her sister and Jotaro to wake the next morning.
She did not need to sleep again for a while, so she took her small treasures out of her bags on her belt and played with them. The horns that her uncles left behind when they died were still warm. Warm like they were still alive. She played with the doll that she had for one hundred years. The girl waited and waited until the sun came up. (Y/n) felt the warmth of the sun on her skin as it rose over the horizon. The morning was beautiful. Like the morning her father became the perfect creation.
Her red eyes looked over the yard as she listened to the sounds of the awakening inhabitants. The girl heard her nephew telling his mother about the Zashiki Warashi he saw the previous night. The pillar child smiled as she listened to her family, this human family. The girl looked as her stepsister walked by the door and jumped when she caught a glimpse of the little girl. Holly grasped her chest and sighed, "You scared me, (y/n). Did you get here last night? I'm guessing you were the Zashiki Warashi that Jotaro saw last night." The plum haired girl nodded and looked to the child peeking at her from behind his mother's legs.
(Y/n) put her treasures up and stood. She was easy to see in the morning light. Holly introduced Jotaro and (y/n) to each other. The two bowed a greeting to each other. Jotaro was polite but seemed to have a little of a hard edge to him. The pillar told Jotaro more about herself as Holly went to cook breakfast for the boy.
"You're much much older than you look?," Jotaro asked. "I am over 4,000 years old.," the ancient girl answered, "but, in my species, that means I am just a young girl." "You're not human?," the boy asked and got a head shake from the girl.
"I'm one of only two left of my species. The other one is alseep.," (y/n) explained, "There were once others. My two uncles and my father. They have all been defeated. I was adopted by your grandfather after my family was defeated." Jotaro seemed a little more relaxed, "Do you have any stories from the old days?" The red dyed girl smiled and looked off into the morning light, "Do I ever. I have stories of your great great grandfather, Jonathan, I was found by his family during my hibernation. I woke up during the Victorian Era and lived with Jonathan." Jotaro looked really interested in what she had to say, she pulled out the old photo of her, Jonathan and Dio with George Joestar. She let the boy look at it.
"Wow. You are really old. Who are they?," the boy asked and pointed to the blond and George. "Their names are Dio Brando and George Joestar.," (y/n) answered, "George was Jonathan's father and he adopted Dio and I. He was such a good man."
"Would it be too much for you to tell me about Jonathan?," Jotaro asked. His ocean green eyes were kind and gentle with a spark of curiosity in them, (y/n) gave him a smile. "No, it is no trouble at all.," the girl answered and began to tell Jotaro about the noble and gentle Jonathan. She told him that he was a strong and just man, that he was empathetic and generous. "I want to be like him! He sounds like a great person!," Jotaro said excitedly. (Y/n) looked down with saddened eyes and a small smile on her lips, "He was. Right up to the day he was killed."
(Y/n) stayed with Holly and Jotaro for a few weeks. She helped Holly around the house and played with Jotaro, telling him stories and singing him songs from ancient cultures long forgotten. Sometimes she thought she heard someone else joining in with her songs as she sang to Jotaro.
She also liked to explore the area that Holly and Jotaro lived at. Walking around and watching people was one of her favorite things to do. During her walks, she noticed that this one child was perpetually alone. He played by himself on the playground. This went on for a few days before the plum haired pillar decided to introduce herself. She had her cloak on to protect her from the sun's rays as she walked, her hood over her head hid her horns and obscured her face slightly.
The child hopped over the fence and walked to the where the red haired lonely boy. He seemed to be scratching the image of something in the ground. It looked like a human but with weird eyes and a mask over its face. "That's a nice drawing.," the little girl said and startled the little boy. He looked up to her and gave her a soft, 'thanks'. Her horns felt an energy of a being with them. It felt similar to the boy's energy.
"Is your friend going to come out of hiding or is he going to stay hidden?," the girl asked as she watched the kid draw some more. He froze and looked up at her, "You can see him?" (Y/n) shook her head, "I can't see him, but I can tell he is there. I can sense life energy and there are three of us where while only two of us are visible, meaning your friend is either only visible to you or that he likes to hide."
"People think I'm weird if I tell them about him.," the redhead said as he was still crouching down to draw in the dirt. The plum haired child smiled and leaned in closer, "You want to know something, I'm considered abnormal too." The redhead's violet eyes widened as she lifted her hood up to show him her horns and smiled to reveal her fangs.
"Are you a Kijo?," the red haired boy asked. The pillar girl laughed, "No. I am not a Kijo or a vampire. I am something much more powerful. My name is (y/n)."
"Noriaki Kakyoin.," the boy introduced himself, "What are you?" The pillar put her finger up to her lips, "Something that humans would call a legend. Promise to keep this a secret between us friends?"
Noriaki smiled slightly and nodded, "Yeah. I promise."
A woman's voice called him away, his mother was telling him to come home because it was getting late. The two said goodbye to each other and parted ways.
