Chapter Twenty five: A cherry on top.
Dreams spun about in the head of the pillar child. Dreams of her past. Dreams of her father and her. Nightmares of the horrors she had seen and repressed inside her head. She was asleep, yet she was aware of those around her as she did. She felt her sister, her nephew, her adopted papa and someone else... But, that did not matter to her as she slept. She was safe and she was asleep. Her mind twirling and dancing through the visions that softly played and swirled within her mind.
Lingering connections that allowed her to sense her father and his sorrow. His loneliness. This time was the only time he could ever feel some sort of companionship from the depths of the cosmos he was drifting in. (Y/n) felt warm sun and cool shade in succession as the sun rose and set, the rays touched her skin and warmed her small body.
She could hear voices lightly through her slumber. The plum haired girl was aware of when her adopted father Joseph found her and moved her onto a comfortable mattress. The child felt warmer after having both a mattress and a blanket over her. She was happy. The sun rose again and hit her skin, her red eyes opened to a sunny day before her. The plum haired girl rose from the mattress she had been set on and looked around. She heard her half sister humming and felt two other energies there that were not her nephew. (Y/n) yawned and rubbed her little eyes before getting up and putting the mattress away. Once done, she wandered around the house. She wandered around before finding her adopted father and a dark skinned man in a reddish coat. Joseph looked behind him when he felt a small body run into him, "You're awake! You slept through a lot." The plum haired girl had her head patted by Joseph.
"Here, let me brush your hair for you.," the man said and took the comb out of the child's bag. He began to comb her hair out and detangle the mass of fluffy hair, being careful not to hit her horns.
"Who is this, Jojo?," (y/n) asked Joseph and motioned to the dark skinned man. "This is my friend, Avdol. Avdol, this is my adopted daughter, (y/n).," Joseph introduced them to each other. The girl's red eyes looked at the man and she pointed at his face, "Inferior Esidisi." "(Y/n)! No!," Joseph scolded, "You don't call someone inferior just because they vaguely remind you of someone else."
"I bet he can't even boil his blood.," the little girl said and stuck her tongue out. She got a flick to the back of her head. It was kind of hard. Joseph had flicked her with his mechanical hand. "Ow!," the girl held the back of her head before turning around and smacking his arm with her little hands. Joseph held his arm up to keep her from hitting his chest, he was laughing at her face. She had her cheeks puffed up. The little girl kicked his leg and ran off into the house as she heard the chuckling from the two men.
(Y/n) ran around the house. Her small footsteps tapped on the wooden floors as she did. She ran into the legs of her nephew and looked up at him. His ocean green eyes looked down at her, "So you're up now? Good. We have some things to catch you up on." Her red eyes looked to the person he was carrying. A red haired teen in a green uniform. Jotaro walked past her and to somewhere else. The small pillar caught a familiar scent from the unconscious and injured teen. She followed her nephew cheerily, "You don't have to tell me anything. I'm more concerned about my friend that you are carrying." Her small feet padded on the wooden floor as Jotaros steps sounded a little heavier.
"Holly! Jotaro brought someone home!," (y/n) called out to her sister as she ran by Jotaro, "Can you get the first aid kit?" "I need to find the old man.," Jotaro said to the child as he walked behind her. "Papa is in the tea room with mister Avdol.," Holly said as she looked put of the room she was in. She gasped when she saw the bloodied redhead teen. The little girl ran out to the tea room.
"Old man! Jotaro beat a classmate up!," The little girl called into the room and got both of the men's attention, "He has brought him here!" Her smile was wide. Joseph sighed as the little girl moved aside for Jotaro to walk in and place the red haired teen on the floor. The plum hair child sat by the redhead and sniffed him to confirm the scent she smelled and the face she saw. It indeed was the one she thought he was. The others talked as she focused on smelling him.
Her nose caught a second scent. One up on his forehead. It was a scent from the past, something she had not smelled in one hundred years. She scooted closer to his head and sniffed again. (Y/n)'s small hands moved his hair aside to see a mass of cells on the teen, this was what was giving off that familiar scent. She could not help but to try to taste it, only to be pulled back from the unconscious teen by Joseph. "It's no good. He will be dead in a few days. That flesh bud that (y/n) found on him has been eating at his brain and making him act like an enemy.," the old Man explained, "This spider like mass has been controlling this young man through the power of that monster's charisma."
The plum haired child was able to wriggle out of her adopted father's hold and scamper back to the teen on the ground. Her red eyes looked at his face. "Is there a way to save Noriaki?," (y/n) asked, "He's my friend. I played with him for years before he just stopped going to the park. Isn't there something someone can do to help him?"
"It's not that simple, Miss (y/n).," Avdol said, "This flesh bud is implanted directly into his brain. There is no easy way to remove it. He is going to be dead in a couple of days." The red eyes of the child looked down to her old friend as Jotaro stepped up. "Dead? He's not dead yet.," Jotaro said and grabbed the face of the red haired teen, "I'll pull it out with my stand!" The flesh bud squished and squirmed like it had been grabbed by an unseen hand. Joseph was going to stop him before Jotaro yelled at his grandfather to not touch him as the flesh bud was removed. (Y/n) sat still beside Jotaro as the vile mass of cells was removed from the forehead of her friend. Tendrils shot out of the flesh bud and impaled into Jotaro's hand, another shot into (y/n)'s arm.
Joseph tried to get them to stop. But Jotaro kept using this 'stand' to pull the flesh bud from Noriaki's forehead. The tendril in Jotaro's arm climbed up through his flesh and towards his brain. Avdol and Joseph could only watch as the tendril got closer to his brain. The one in (y/n)'s arm seemed to be cut like butter, like the part that touched her melted right into her flesh. She had eaten the fleshbud. She knew she could have eaten the fleshbud right out of his head, but she would have a hard time discerning what was fleshbud and what was brain matter thanks to the consistency of the material.
Noriaki's eyes opened and he was staring straight at Jotaro as the teen ripped the rest of the fleshbud from his head. The tendrils were pulled from the dark haired teen's skin by his aunt absorbing the fleshbud into her small body to feed on it. She was immune to the toxins In the bud.
The red haired teen sat up after the flesh bud was removed, he rubbed the wound on his head before looking at Jotaro. "Why? Why did you save me?," Noriaki asked, "Why did you risk your life to save me?" "Who knows?," Jotaro replied as he walked out of the room, "I'm not so sure myself." Noriaki looked down at the floor to contemplate what just happened. Holly looked into the room with a first aid kit in her hands.
The woman got to work patching up the red haired teen in her home as her stepsister helped. The blonde woman told Noriaki that he was welcome to stay the night as he felt a small warm body hug his arm. He saw a small child when he looked to see who it was. She only let go when Holly asked her to get the futon for their guest. The plum haired child did as asked. (Y/n) could hear her adoptive father and stepsister lightly arguing as she went to get the futon. The red eyed child came back and saw that Noriaki was in pajamas.
Noriaki's violet eyes saw the little girl place the futon roll down and unroll it. The child's own red eyes looked back at him. The teen faintly remembered a face like hers from his past. The girl had a smile before she ran back into the large house with a giggle. The red haired teen felt his head again, "This house has a Zashiki Warashi? Or am I seeing things?"
He unrolled the futon that was kindly provided and heard the small steps of a child again running up behind him. "Noriaki.," He heard a child's voice. The girl was back. Her smile widened, "It is you! It has been a while. How is your ghost friend?" Noriaki's violet eyes watched her come in and sit beside him. She looked like the little girl he played with as a child. "Do I know you?," the red haired teen asked. The child nodded, "You mistook me for a Kijo when we first met. I'm (y/n). We played together a lot when you were a child." The girl was cheery as she spoke to him like she was his old friend.
"You have not aged a single second in those years.," Noriaki said when he recognized her finally. "I told you that I'm not a human.," the girl said with a wide smile, "I hope my nephew was not too rough you."
"Nephew?," Noriaki inquired. (Y/n) nodded, "Jotaro is my nephew. I was adopted fifty years ago by his grandfather, after he defeated my family in battle. I and one other are the last of our kind." The red haired teen looked down at his lap. His eyes told the child that his mind was swimming with thoughts and questions. The girl got up again, "I'll get some medicine for you. You'll feel a little sore tomorrow, better have something to help you deal with it now."
"(Y/n), wait. The one who did this to me. He-," Noriaki said. "Will be dealt with after we get you better.," the girl said, "Just focus on getting better, Noriaki. I don't want my old friend to suffer." She walked out of the room to look for the medicine. She was not soon out of the room when she saw Jotaro watching her from the other side of the house. His sharp eyes met hers. The small girl walked up to her intimidating nephew, "Do you know where the pain medication is?"
Jotaro motioned the girl to follow him and showed her where the pain meds were. "You already knew this guy?," Jotaro asked. "Yep. He and I are friends!," (y/n) said with a smile, "He looked like he needed a friend." The little pillar girl took the medicine from the cabinet. "You no doubt smelled who did this to him.," Jotaro said, "The bastard." Jotaro looked down to the big red eyes looking up at him. "I did. The scent was familiar. I can't really place it though...," the little girl replied and carried the small bag of medicine.
"You should.," Jotaro spoke, "It was DIO."
(Y/n) stopped in her tracks and dropped the bag of medicine. She did not look back at Jotaro, but shakily picked up the medicine bag. The teen saw shiny liquid drop from the girl's face and watched her walk off on shaky limbs. His sea green eyes saw her shoulders shake as she did.
The young pillar was crying in sorrow of being reminded of her brother's eroded soul and corrupt heart.
