Chapter Thirty-two: Towards India

Kakyoin and the child walked to Joseph and Avdol's room. The red haired male opened the door and walked in with the tiny girl on his back. Her head was peeking over his shoulder as Joseph and Avdol looked over at them. "Kakyoin! Where were you?," Joseph asked. "I was sunbathing and talking to (y/n), is something wrong?," the cherry red haired teen asked as (y/n) dropped off of his back to inspect the exploded television. She heard a conversation between them. Apparently, Anne and Jotaro had been attacked by an enemy who had disguised himself as Kakyoin. Anne was okay since Jotaro was able to get the enemy away from her. The girl was coming back to the hotel.
The plum haired pillar was still lookin at the television and pointed to it, "Old man. What happened here?" "I used my stand on the television.," Joseph answered, "But thanks to that, DIO knows where we are." (Y/n) looked down before wandering over to Joseph to jump up onto his shoulder, "Where's Jean?" "He was arrested. He should be back soon.," the old man replied.

Anne came back after a few minutes of waiting, followed by Polnareff. (Y/n) jumped off of Joseph and right onto Polnareff as soon as he walked into the door. He smelled like he had been in one hell of a fight. The Frenchman stumbled back when the pillar girl jumped onto him, but he caught her. "Did you miss me that much?," he asked and got a smile from the girl. The little girl gave Jean a hug, "You need a shower. You stink."
Polnareff sniffed his arm and grimaced, "Alcohol and blood is not a good smell."
Joseph allowed Polnareff to use the shower to wash off and change into new clothes. The Frenchman had showered and changed in the bathroom. He came out clean with his hair down and a towel around his shoulders.
(Y/n) was watching him as he dried his hair. He saw that she was watching him, "What?" The girl smiled and pointed to his hair that lay down for once, "Your hair is pretty." "Thank you, yours is quite pretty as well.," Polnareff said and tussled her hair lightly. Anne went back to her room while (y/n) and the men stayed in Joseph's room to talk. The plum haired pillar girl was playing with Polnareff's hair, making it impossible for him to style it like he wanted to.

Jotaro came back later when the sun was going down, he smelled like he was in a fight. He looked really pissed. His eyes went from Avdol to Joseph to (y/n) and landed on Polnareff. He looked at Kakyoin last, "Some bastard disguised himself as you and tried to kill me.," the Japanese teen said and walked over to the couch to sit down, "But, I was able to get a bit of information out of him before I kicked his ass."  "Oh? What kind of information?," Joseph inquired. Jotaro's eyes looked to Polnareff, "I got the name of the murderer that Polnareff is searching for." The Frenchman looked over to the dark haired Japanese teen. "His name is J. Geil.," Jotaro said, "That's all I could get out of him before I beat the assassin into a pulp."
(Y/n) fell off of her place on Polnareff's shoulders as the Frenchman stood suddenly in anger. The little girl picked herself up and stood, checking if her horns were damaged at all. Thankfully they weren't. Polnareff pressed Jotaro to tell him more, Jotaro had to tell him that he did not know more than that. Joseph chuckled at the pouty child standing next to Polnareff. The old man motioned her over to talk, "Go back to your room and rest. We are heading to India tomorrow." (Y/n) followed his instructions.

The next morning, they all left for the train station and caught a train. The adults believed that they had left Anne behind, but (y/n) knew that she stowed away on the train with them. The plum haired pillar did not tell them though. She sat next to Polnareff on the train and played with her porcelain doll. She did not pay much heed to the adults talking around her. She did notice Jotaro get a little uncomfortable around Kakyoin as the redhead played with a cherry. The plum violet haired pillar child felt a tense and angry energy coming from Polnareff. The silver haired Frenchman felt a small hand on his arm.
His blue eyes looked down to the red ones looking up to him. "Pol pol?," the little girl asked. "I'm okay.," the Frenchman said and patted her hair, "Thanks for your concern." Joseph just smiled that his adopted daughter was getting along with someone who was not just part of her adopted family. "The next place we are going may not be quite to your liking, (y/n).," Joseph said and got the child's attention, "It may be crowded and noisy from what Avdol told me, but I want you to remember that you are not allowed to kill anyone... Unless they are enemy stand users."

It was a train ride and a few ferry rides before they got to India. They arrived in Calcutta. (Y/n) was riding on Joseph's shoulder as they got ready to get off of the boat. She felt a mass of humans up ahead and feared the worst. Her little hands gripped her adopted papa's shoulder. The old man looked to her, "Is something wrong?" "A bunch of humans are at the dock, I don't like this.," the little girl said. Avdol laughed, "They are always like this, don't worry."
"They are going to lose their fingers if they touch me.," the little girl growled. "Just stay up on mister Joestar's shoulder and you should be fine.," Avdol spoke then looked to the door, "We're here." The door opened and the group exited the ferry to find a group of people waiting for them like the child and Avdol said. The humans begged for money and offered services in exchange for money. (Y/n) held her bags close to her and wrapped her cloak around her to keep grabby hands away from her body. The humans were noisy as they begged pathetically for monetary gain. She had keep reminding herself that she was not allowed to.

Avdol was fortunately able to pull them through the crowd and to a quieter place, a nice restaurant. Kakyoin tapped at his jacket and pants, "My wallet was stolen." (Y/n) shot a look of irritation at Avdol as he laughed with a jolly and hearty belly laugh. "That's just how the people are hear. Very friendly and eager to do things for tourists.," the Egyptian man laughed. "I was afraid they would take my bags. I have some special things in there, like an Aja.," the girl said and Joseph looked over to her. "You have an Aja? I'm guessing your father gave it to you.," the man said and got a nod from the girl.
She took it out of her bag to show the group. Joseph took a look at it and nodded, "That is indeed an Aja." Avdol laughed as they were given a drink, "Try this. It will calm your nerves a bit. It is called chai." (Y/n) sat between Kakyoin and Joseph as they unwound from the excitement of being greeted by so many beggars at the dock. Avdol was still pretty jolly, "Once you get used to it, you'll see that it is a wonderful place." "I think it is pretty great.," Jotaro said and got a glare from his tiny aunt. "Traitor.," the little girl spoke and some of the group laughed. Even Jotaro cracked a small smile.

It was quite relaxing once they all started drinking the chai and speaking. (Y/n) was still slightly on edge after the encounter with the begging humans at the dock. "I'll be glad when we leave.," the girl said and took another sip of the chai. "Why is that? Don't like the friendly locals? I think I heard one say you were cute.," Avdol asked teasingly. "She's not used to crowded and noisy places as a nocturnal species. She is usually out when everyone is asleep.," Joseph explained, "She, her father and uncles would wander the world at night since the sun is a death sentence for them. She is only resistant to it because of her mother, who was human."
The girl felt her adopted father pat her head, being careful of her horns. The girl sighed as Polnareff got up, "I'm heading to the restroom. Be sure to order something splendid that suits a gorgeous Frenchman like myself." (Y/n) snickered at that. She found Polnareff to be quite silly. The man walked to the restroom while Joseph's jaw was dropped. Kakyoin was not that phased and looked at the menu, "We can order anything. Now what would he like?" The red haired male waved a server over to inquire about the menu. The plum haired pillar girl drank the last of her chai as Joseph inquired if she was hungry.  The girl told him that she was not and looked to her cup with disappointment when she found that she drank all of the delicious chai. The old man laughed and asked for more of the drink for the little one.

(Y/n) watched as her refill and the meal came for the group. Polnareff was not back yet, the child wondered if he was okay. Her horn was set alight with sensing a stand. Her eyes opened mid sip of her drink and put the drink down. She felt that this stand was not Polnareff's.  His stand appeared later. The girl tensed up as she felt that Polnareff was in trouble. She got out of her seat and went to see if the Frenchman was okay. She heard a mirror shatter as she went to see him. He looked mad.
"Pol pol?," the little girl asked as she looked up to the Frenchman. Polnareff looked down at the little girl, his eyes full of hate and pain. But not towards her. He ran past her and to the dining room then outside after telling her to stay inside. He seemed very upset. The girl ran after him with the others, "It was the bastard's stand! He's here somewhere! He's finally appeared. The stand user that uses mirrors is here!"
"I am going on my own now.," the Frenchman said. "Pol pol?," the girl said and stepped forward. Polnareff looked back at her before turning to walk off. Avdol stepped up, "You go out looking for wool. But it will be you who comes home shorn." Tensions were raised and Joseph had Kakyoin and Jotaro go back into the building with (y/n) in case a fight happened.

Polnareff did not come back. The next day, Avdol disappeared to look for him after a rainstorm ran through the town they stayed in. After his disappearance, the rest of the group split up to go find him and Polnareff. (Y/n) was originally with her adopted father, Joseph, but splintered off from him to look for the two men. She saw kakyoin running around and kept on when she felt stand energy. Strong stand energy. Magician's Red. Avdol was nearby. The little girl felt Polnareff's stand as well. Plus two more. More enemies. The girl ran just in time to see Avdol fall back from being shot on the head by something.
Her red eyes watched in horror as he fell to the ground and blood pooled around him. Small tears pricked her eyes. "Av..dol?," the girl said and walked forward to see the body. Human lives were so short and fragile. She felt this pain before several times. But it was a pain that that would never dull, no matter how many times it happened. Her tears fell to the dirt as the cowboy looking man laughed. His voice irritating her as he taunted Polnareff and Kakyoin. Her first instinct took over as she jumped up and gave the man a kick to the chest at full strength. The blond man flew back into the crowd and disappeared. At least he shut up now.
