Chapter thirty: On the seas
A pale hand reached out and touched a mirror in front of a man. His muscular form stood proud and powerful in front of the glass. His black nailed hand pulled back from the cool glass and touched his shoulder that had been getting a feeling from it. His voice seemed soothing and reverberating as he spoke, "I have a question for you, Enyaba. What does it mean to be alive?" "To gain all that you desire my lord.," the voice of an old woman replied, "To put it simply. That is all it means to live. People want money, they want fame, they want food, they want love, they want a lover..."
"But when they get what they desire, there is always a battle is there not?," Came the question from the man shrouded in darkness. The old woman cackled, "Indeed." "If they lose the battle and do not obtain what they desire, they are frustrated and feel failure.," the smooth voice came again from the darkness, "They will be more hesitant when the time comes to battle again, they will be gripped by the fear of failure again."
He brushed his fingers along the star mark upon the shoulder, "I believe that conquering fear is what it means to live. The one who stands at the top of the world is the one who feels no fear whatsoever. Do you understand, Enyaba?" "I was the one who told you about your stand's existence and how to use it. And you have an immortal body.," the old woman spoke, "What is there for you to fear if anything at all?" "Not fear, concerns.," Came the man's voice from the darkness.
"And what is it that concerns you, my lord?," the old woman asked and the man looked back to her. "The Joestar bloodline.," Came the answer to the old woman's question. "Joestar? Those two are mere trash compared to you.," the hag spoke and raised one of her wrinkled and arthritic hands, "They cannot compare to your stand!" "Yes... But the fates of the Joestar bloodline and (y/n) are entangled so deeply into my own that I cannot help but to take notice.," came the deep voice of the man, "I do not fear the Joestars, but it is the fact that I cannot underestimate the Joestar bloodline. I must remove them from my wheel of fortune." "You want to have them eliminated because you feel like they cannot be underestimated?," Enyaba asked, "What foolishness! We have seven stand users on the move. You need not worry yourself, lord DIO."
"Perhaps, Enyaba. But do not underestimate them or (y/n).," the man spoke before retreating into the darkness.

A large ship loomed as the group boarded. A massive and empty cargo carrier. The machinery had power and everything seemed to work, but there were no humans aboard. (Y/n)'s horn was on the alert. There was a power around them. A stand power surrounded them like a morbid blanket of dense and evil air. The young pillar girl held onto Kakyoin's shoulder as he held her. She sniffed the air to search for human life other than the ones she was with. Her horn was numb with the amount of energy surrounding them.
(Y/n) let her red eyes Leer over the ship as they explored. Kakyoin and Avdol noticed her sudden tension. "Miss (y/n), is there something wrong?," the Egyptian asked. "There are no humans other than you on the ship.," the girl answered, "I feel stand power from all directions. I cannot pinpoint where the stand or the user is." The got the rest of the crew on edge. She was a living radar system for them.
The group continued their search and split up to look better.
The brunette girl called everyone to the control room. She had found something. She pointed into the room where there was a cage. The only lifesign aboard the ship was there. "Look! It's a monkey!," the girl said and pointed to the cage. "It's an orangutan.," Kakyoin said as (y/n) dropped off of him to get a little closer to the ape. "He seems to be fairly young and probably just matured. He does not have the cheek growths most male orangutans have.," the plum haired pillar said, "But how has he been alive on this vessel with no humans around? Unless someone comes out every so often to come see him and this is some sick social experiment."
"Let's go see if the person who feeds this ape is here.," Joseph said and left with the other older males. (Y/n) and the stowaway stayed in the room to look at the ape some more before Joseph called for them to follow. The two girls felt the ape's eyes follow them. They followed in time to see a man impaled on one of the container hooks that was on a crane that Avdol and the Speedwagon crew were investigating. Strong stand energy seeped from the crane. The girl that was beside (y/n) screamed before her eyes were covered by Jotaro. The plum haired pillar looked up at the carnage before them, "Stand. There is a stand.," the girl said, "But where is the user?"
Joseph looked back at his adopted daughter, "(Y/n)! Are you sure there is nobody here?." The girl shook her head, "I have been feeling stand energy since we got here. There is a very strong stand nearby." The old man nodded and turned back to the crew of humans, "Don't touch any of the machinery. If it is powered by electricity, don't touch it! Go into the cabin and stay there if you want to live!" The crew followed orders and entered the cabin. Joseph turned to the two girls, "I never go your name, little lady." "Anne.," the brunet spoke. "Well Anne, I need you to go into the cabin as well. Don't worry, my daughter, (y/n), will be with you.," the old man said.
(Y/n) took Anne's hand and took her to the cabin with the rest of the crew. Her horn still sensed enemy energy. Her red eyes kept looking around for signs of the enemy. 'Brother, what have you sent after us now?,' she thought as she kept watch. A hand tapped her shoulder and she turned around. It was Anne. The brunette stepped back after the sudden movement from the smaller girl. Her brown eyes looked at the young pillar child's face then up to her horns. The plum haired child sighed, "What is it Anne?"
"Just who are you and those guys?," Anne asked, "Bad things happen to you a lot." The red eyed child looked around before speaking again, "There are things that happen in the world that the public is not allowed to know. What you are witnessing is part of that. But know this, We are not the bad guys. We are on your side." The plum haired girl sniffed herself and pulled out some of her items to check them for damage, thankfully the seawater did not hurt any of her precious items. "Thank goodness these weren't damaged by salt water.," the child sighed and placed the items back into her bags after squeezing the water out of the fabric.
Anne looked at the objects and picked up the porcelain doll, "This looks old and expensive." "It is old. It is over one hundred years old from the Victorian era.," the little girl said, "It was a gift from my stepbrother. May he rest in peace." The brunette gave the doll back to the smaller child and sniffed her own clothes before gagging. "Ew. The seawater is making me stinky and sticky.," the tanned girl complained, "I need a shower." (Y/n) sniffed the air and motioned Anne to follow, "I smell fresh water and some soap this way. There are showers."
Anne followed but stopped, "I am a little concerned about the Orangutan. Is he okay?" The smaller red eyed girl looked back, "You can go check on him if you want to, but be careful. They are incredibly stronger than humans."
Anne ran off after that and (y/n) continued to the showers to wash the salt water off of her. The Plum violet haired child clean herself of salt water and cleaned some of her treasures off as well. 'I need to invest in a waterproof bag if this keeps happening.,' she thought to herself and dried off. Her wavy hair fluffed up after being dried. The girl checked her bags again to see what else her father and uncles could have placed in there for later use. She found some poisons that Wamuu or Esidisi put in her bags. Wamuu's lip ring was in there. Joseph must have picked that up for her.
(Y/n) cleaned her porcelain doll and her clothes before drying them quickly and putting them back on. She felt better after being cleaned. The girl looked at her reflection in one of the mirrors. She had similar markings to her father, save for the stripe below each eye. They were the same blue color her father's had. She did not know how she got those markings, but the markings never came off. Not even when wet. The sound of footsteps made the young Pillar look to the door as Anne came in. "Oh, you're already done?," the taller girl asked, "How was it?" "It felt pretty good.," (y/n) answered as Anne disrobed.
First her jeans overalls, followed by her pink shirt. (Y/n) stayed nearby to keep watch and played with her porcelain doll. The small pillar child was happy with this simple pleasure and the sweet memories that came with it. She heard heavy steps approach as Anne was showering. The ancient child sniffed and felt around with her horn. The smell of the orangutan was closing in on them. Her horn felt the lives of the crew be snuffed out, "Anne, get dressed, now."
The plum haired girl jumped up from her sitting position on the floor and got ready to fight. Anne was about to question the smaller girl when the door opened and the orangutan stuck his ugly face in. His eyes did not even look towards the smaller girl as he stared at Anne. (Y/n) stepped between the ape and the human girl, her hand up and ready to drain the life of this creature. The orangutan pointed towards Anne and made a soft cooing noise. Anne covered herself with a towel she grabbed. The beast crept closer to the two girls. The orangutan began his attack on the two girls, the attack was cut short by Jotaro hitting the ape in the head with the padlock that was on his cage.
(Y/n) felt the stand energy again. It was even stronger now. It was coming from the ape! The orangutan was the user! Her brother sent a perverted ape after their group. With how DIO was, she did not doubt that he would do that in the slightest. The ape started to slink away after being hit, Jotaro threw the padlock at the ape. The ape turned around and grabbed Jotaro's coat. (Y/n) yelled to the Japanese teen, "The orangutan is the stand user!" The orangutan attacked Jotaro by kicking before his leg was hit by an invisible hand. (Y/n) helped Anne to get dressed as Jotaro was fighting the perverted ape.
The two girls went outside in time to see the orangutan disappeared into the wall of the ship. Jotaro looked back at the two girls, "You saw that right? Both of you, stay close." They obeyed and stood close to the Japanese teen, Jotaro had an arm around Anne as the smaller red eyed girl held onto the legs of them.
Jotaro's sea green eyes looked down to his aunt, "You said you felt stand energy before right?" "Yes. It is everywhere at once. It is like this entire ship itself is the stand.," the little girl replied. Jotaro looked around, "When I touched the wall, I felt stand energy as well. I think the ship is indeed the stand." The ship shook violently as he said that. The mass was shifting. "Of course DIO would have a follower like this disturbingly gross orangutan.," (y/n) said.
Pipes shot out from the wall and grasped Jotaro. The orangutan was back and laughed at the teenage boy. The beast emerged fully from the wall. He was now wearing a captain's coat and hat. A pipe was in his drooling maw. The ape held up a dictionary with the word 'strength' under his finger. Strength was the name of his stand! The ape was smug as he played with a rubik's cube in front of Jotaro, as if to rub in the fact he was superior. He laughed as Jotaro struggled to free himself from the ship. The ape broke the cube toy once he was done with it. His attention turned to the two girls behind him. Anne mostly.
(Y/n) stood in front of Anne, ready to kill the ape if he got closer. The ape turned around once he felt something hit his head. It was a button from Jotaro's school jacket.
Jotaro was trying to rile the beast up and keep his attention away from the girls. The beast jumped at Jotaro to attack and kill him. Only the button flew into the head of the beast, impacting into his skull and causing blood to pour from his eyes. The ape fell to the ground. Jotaro was able to free himself from the biding he was put in. The orangutan pulled his coat open to show his belly and ask for forgiveness. He would get none. Since he was acting like a human, he broke the rules of being an animal. He was no longer animal nor was he human. Jotaro used his stand to pummel the beast before he saw his aunt jump onto the back of the ape and sink her hands into the orangutan's skull. She was draining the ape. She killed it after a few pints of blood was drained.
The plum violet haired girl let the body of the ape fall to the ground. The ship started to warp and decay. "The ship! Something is happening to the ship!," Anne shouted. Jotaro was calm, "Don't scream. You can be surprised later. This ship is going to sink, we better get out of here." Jotaro picked up (y/n) and Anne and ran out of the ship. Joseph and the others were pulling themselves from the hull of the ship. Jotaro jumped on the boat they came on and the others followed. Jotaro held both of the girls against him as they watched the massive freighter turn into a dinky little rowboat.
"What terrifying power. That ape used his stand to get this far into the sea. He had a stand so overwhelmingly powerful that non-standusers can see it.," Avdol spoke. Joseph held his hand over his mouth, "We were completely overwhelmed. If (y/n) and Jotaro did not figure it out, we would have been done for. But I have a feeling we will encounter stands with unknown powers." Polnareff offered Joseph some coffee flavored gum that he had. (Y/n) shivered as she was cold from getting wet and her body heat was sapped. She snuggled to the nearest warm body and fell asleep to sleep off the meal she had, dreaming of what kind of stand she would have if she had one.

"So strength has been defeated, my lord. Jotaro attacked but your sister finished him off by... consuming him.," the voice of the old woman came from the darkness to speak to the man reading by candlelight. He turned the page and let out a small breath, "She always loved animals. And what of the other six?" "The remaining six are incredibly powerful, my lord. You have no need to worry.," Enyaba spoke, "One is my own son. My son will take care of them with both of his right hands if that your wish!" The old woman cackled.
DIO shut his book, "You are a strange old woman. What is it that you desire?" "I have already told you many times.," the hag spoke, "I wish to only stay by your side. Your guardian spirit has an unbelievable amount of power. I wish to see your life unfold!"
