Chapter Thirty-eight: Wet and very wild.
(Y/n) had wandered away from the campsite during the night. She wanted to be alone for a while. She hugged the doll that she carried with her, the Crack had gotten bigger and a new one was on the doll's belly now. The little girl watched the stars and felt the wind in the desert, she could have sworn she heard whispers within the wind. Footsteps made her turn her head as she saw Jotaro behind her, "Need something, Jotaro?" "No, just checking on you.," the Japanese teen said, "You scared the old man with your ourburst." The little girl laughed, "Not as bad as Esidisi did." "He mentioned that and told us the story.," Jotaro spoke and took a sip of his drink, "I am surprised that such beings like you exist."
His ocean green eyes looked up to the sky. He seemed to have much on his mind at the moment. The little girl's wounds had healed already. She sighed and looked to the sky as well. It was the same sky that she and her father looked at and the one that her mother and father looked at. The little girl was still a little sore from the hamon.
It was a another beautiful night. She could get lost in the skies, wondering where exactly her father was up there. She closed her eyes to see if she could feel where her father was, she felt him thinking of her as she was thinking of him at that moment. She wanted him to be happy, but he could never be. He was immortal and floating away from her. 'Where are you? I miss you, daddy. I love you.,' (y/n) thought and opened her eyes to look at the stars again, 'Why did you not tell me about my mother? We're you still in pain over her murder?'
The little half pillar stood and heard the laughing of the baby. It was pretty late for someone to be awake during this time. She looked back and saw the baby next to the fire, laughing his tiny head off. She got closer and felt stand energy from him. Time to confront the little bastard. The girl walked up behind the baby and grabbed his head with a clawed hand, the baby stopped laughing and froze. She felt sheer terror from the infant. The stand users around her seemed to be having nightmares. The baby turned around and looked horrified at the ancient girl baring her teeth at him as her claws dug into his skin, "How do you think you were going to escape the desert after killing them hm? I know I would survive by just using my own power to travel across these sands. But you? You are an infant, a smart infant, but an infant nonetheless."
"I don't take kindly to those who hurt people I care for. And you have been hurting them for a while.," the girl spoke and dug her claws deeper into his skin, "Your stand cannot protect you from me. It only works on those who are asleep, and as you can see, I am not. I was waiting for a chance to confront you." (Y/n)'s hand melted into the infant's head as she continued to torture him, "I'm sure my brother told you about me, or if he has not, then you know now."
The infant's yellow eyes grew wide. "You understand now, baby?," the girl said, "I ran out of mercy for you as soon as you threatened my friends. I don't like to hurt young opponents, but I can make an exception with how wicked you are." The infant started to foam at the mouth and his eyes rolled back in his head, be passed out from terror. The plum haired girl removed her hand from his brain, leaving no trace of her influence. The others went into peaceful sleep around her. Her red eyes glared harshly at her adopted father. How dare he even think of trying to make her go back home.
She alighted onto the crashed plane and waited up there until morning. Kakyoin was the first to wake. He made breakfast for the others and looked around. He saw the passed out baby, then looked for the little girl. "Up here.," he heard her voice say and looked up to the airplane. Her red eyes looked down to his violet ones, "That baby had stand energy on him, yet I could not feel a physical stand from him. I'm guessing he was the one giving you nightmares." Kakyoin nodded, "He stopped his attack suddenly last night, I thought it was my threats that stopped him. But I see now that you must have done something to terrorize him."
(Y/n) held her hand up that still had the claws on it, "I did." Kakyoin chuckled and made the baby food for the infant as the little girl kept watch. The others woke up after Kakyoin made some noise to wake them with. The three washed their faces and got ready to eat. Jotaro walked to the airplane and looked up to the girl who was playing with her doll, "Oi. Are you feeling better?" (Y/n) looked down to her nephew, "Yes, I just needed to cry a bit and get myself under control. That is what uncle Esidisi taught me to do." Jotaro made a small hum and took another sip of his drink, "Can you swim?" "Of course I can swim.," the little girl said and looked down to him. Jotaro nodded and took another drink.
After crossing the desert, the group gave the infant to a hospital and got a boat to cross the red sea to make it to Egypt. Joseph was still adamant that the little girl had to return to a safer area. (Y/n) did not want to. She felt like she was needed. The boat that they were riding on was not going to the west, towards Egypt, they instead were going southwest towards an island. Jotaro questioned why they were going to the island. Joseph kept driving forward, "There is a man who is very important to our mission there." All three of the younger men were surprised at this information.
(Y/n) sat on the front of the boat and was watching the water below her, it was beautiful. They landed on the island and got off the boat. The island was very lush and filled with life. The little girl jumped off of the boat herself instead of letting Joseph help her down. She wandered around the beach and looked at everything there. She remembered that her uncles once took her to the beach to play. That was fun.
Her horn felt a heartbeat in the bushes, the energy told her it was a stand user. She looked towards the bushes and saw brown eyes looking back. The energy was familiar. It felt like Avdol! The little girl saw the one watching them take off and she followed, she heard Joseph calling out for her to come back. The person smelled like Avdol, except he looked a lot older. She followed him to he small hut he was living in on the island. There were chickens there that he was feeding. She walked closer to the fence but was caught by Joseph, she looked back as Joseph picked her up and shook his head.
He put her down and pushed her towards the beach, "Go back to the boat." (Y/n) made a pouty face and ran back to the beach. She knew that there was no way that Avdol could have survived that wound, yet there was his energy. No parental variation, it WAS Avdol. The girl jumped onto the boat that was tethered on the beach and pulled her doll out. The crack was even bigger from the trauma it was put under. She pulled the old picture that she had put into a waterproof bag to protect it. George and Jonathan's smiling faces looked back at her. She missed them. They died too soon, even for humans. She looked back up later at sundown when she saw the others come back. They seemed to have serious faces on them.
"We have to tell you something.," Joseph said to the girl who was glaring down at him. Her red eyes seemed to glow from the reflective light hitting them from under her hood. "Avdol is alive.," Joseph said, "He did not die back in India. He came here to the island to heal." (Y/n)'s eyes got wide as she looked down at them, "Alive? You kept this from me this whole time?! From Polnareff?!" She had an angered expression on her face. Joseph put his arms up and tried to calm her down, "There's a reason! You two are too honest! You always have been, you say things that are on your mind and freely tell how you feel and what you sense."
Her red eyes had small tears in them that she wiped away. "We did not mean to hurt you, we had to keep Avdol alive and had him come here to heal." The girl looked to the stars, "I'm glad that he is okay, but I am still mad at you." "No you're not, you still love me.," Joseph said with a grin, "Come on! I think I see a smile! Give me a pretty little smile!" All he got was the girl turning away from him and pouting. The old man rubbed his cheek with his finger before reaching up and pulling the little girl down from the boat, she made a little squeak from the sudden grab. "Come on! Let's see that smile!," the old man said and gave her a little tickle. This caused her to try and supress her laughter.
She finally broke and squealed with laughter as Joseph kept tickling her, he stopped after she kicked him in the gut. The old man dropped her and she ran out of his reach before he could try and grab her again. She stuck her little tongue out at him. Joseph was not mad and just laughed a little more, "Wait for us on those rocks over there. Our next transportation is coming." The girl hopped over to the rocks and sat down on to watch the sky and waters.
She watched and wondered at the stars. The sound of the others coming to join her made her look behind her. Polnareff looked really beat up. She saw Avdol walking up she jumped down from the rock she was sitting on and hugged his leg. The Egyptian man laughed and knelt down to her height, "Hello again, (y/n). I heard from Polnareff that you attacked Hol Horse for shooting me." "She not only attacked him, she was going to kill him by gauging him.," Kakyoin said, "but where is the transportation you got for us?" "It should be arriving soon.," Joseph said and looked around. Avdol got up and carefully picked up the child, "It is right over there." The man said and pointed to the water as the surface began to break.
A submarine erupted from the water like a whale breaching. It was a big yellow submarine. "A submarine?," (y/n) asked, "Are we going to see fish?" "Yes, you can see lots of fish if you out the port hole.," Avdol said with a smile. "Jotaro, you were reading about fish before, can you tell me what's in this area?," the girl asked. Jotaro pulled his hat down to hide a smile. The group boarded the submarine and set off to Egypt. She stood on a small table and peered out one of the portholes to look at the corals and fish that were around them.
It was a beautiful sea. She read somewhere that the red sea is one of the most beautiful and unspoiled seas on the planet. She hopped down to let Polnareff looked outside, he looked thrilled. "Oh man, I always loved things like his. If only there was a cute girl to share this with.," he spoke wistfully while grinning. Kakyoin chuckled and pointed down when Polnareff looked to see why he was laughing. The silver haired Frenchman looked down and his blue eyes were met with (y/n)'s red eyes. "Oh look, there is a cute girl here!," the Frenchman said and scooped the little girl up, "I guess I got what I asked for." He gave her a squeeze before they looked out the porthole together.
"You two act like you are siblings sometimes, it is rather cute.," Kakyoin said with a chuckle. (Y/n) looked over to him with a grin, "Is that an observation out of envy or..?" The red haired teen chuckled and went back to exploring the sub.
The sound of pinging got Polnareff's attention, he carried the child over to were the sound was coming from. "What is that?," the silver haired Frenchman asked. "It's a sonar, like a radar but with sound. Kind of like how (y/n) has been working for us. We can see anyone nearby with this.," Joseph spoke. The child jumped down from Polnareff's arms and went to explore the sub as well. She jumped up onto one of the consoles and looked at what was on it. There was a satellite phone. She immediately knew what she wanted to do! Call Ceasar!
Her tiny hand picked up the phone and she dialed the number, it was late in Italy, so she prepared to leave a message on his answering machine. She giggled and waited for the machine to pick up. The little girl was surprised when the Italian picked up, "Hello?" "Ceasar!," the little girl cheered, her happy exclamation got Joseph's attention. The Italian's tone relaxed, "Ciao, (y/n). Why are you calling so late at night?" "Because I am awake and wanted to leave a message for you.," the little girl said cheerily. Joseph walked up behind her as the others were getting something to drink. "Oh? And what kind of message would that be?," Ceasar inquired, his smile could be heard in his voice. "I'm on a submarine. We are going to Egypt.," the little girl said happily. "Submarine? Egypt? Is Jojo with you?," the Italian man asked. The plum haired girl was grinning, "Si! He's actually right here."
Ceasar was quiet for a second, "Put Jojo on." (Y/n) looked behind her and held the phone out to Joseph, "Caesar." Joseph took the phone and put the receiver to his ear, "Hello? Ceasar?" (Y/n) could hear Ceasar on the other line, "Jojo! It's been so long, (y/n) has kept me up to date on everything that was happening. Late congratulations on getting married and having a family. How old is your grandson now?" "Jotaro is seventeen.," Joseph answered, "Ceasar, how did you survive? I thought Wamuu killed you?"
"I almost did die. But (y/n) put me into a coma to save my life.," Ceasar explained, "I would not have survived if she did not knock me out of he way." Joseph was quiet, "How are you doing now, Caesar?" "Oh, I'm wonderful, Jojo! Being an actor is fun and I like that (y/n) comes to visit.," the Italian said. Polnareff and Kakyoin was behind Joseph as the old man was on the phone. Polnareff tapped Joseph on his shoulder, "Is that really Caesar?" Joseph waved the Frenchman away as Caesar asked him what they were doing. "Were on our way to Egypt. There is some business we need to take care of there.," the old British American said.
"Business huh? Was that a fan I heard in the background? Are you traveling with someone other than (y/n)?," Caesar asked. Joseph sighed, "Yes, he is a fan. I'm traveling with three friends, my grandson and (y/n)." The little pillar child sat on the console as the two old hamon warriors talked. She wanted to talk to Caesar again. Joseph talked and finally gave the phone back to the little girl. "(Y/n). Thank you for calling. But I have to go now. Goodnight, (y/n).," Ceasar said. "Goodnight Ceasar.," the little girl replied and hung up the phone before Joseph picked the receiver up again. "I need to make a call as well.," the old man said and dialed, "thank you for letting me speak to Caesar again."
(Y/n) hopped of the console and went to explore the inner areas of the submarine. The child felt the sub shake from an impact, followed by another impact a little while later. The girl felt stand energy within the sub. Oddly strong stand energy, yet it had the feeling of a long ranged stand. She ran back to the group as they were sitting down to have a drink. One of them mentioned that there were six cups, yet (y/n) only saw five. She jumped up and kicked her adopted father's hand when he made a motion like he was picking up a coffee cup. The girl felt something grab her leg and Joseph's artifical hand was cut off. The fingers from the hand was launched at the old man.
The little girl was dragged off by the invisible thing as the others reacted to the invisible thing, a stand attack. Her leg was bruised when it finally let go of her. What looked like small hand marks were on her legs. The girl saw the door she was pulled through was shut. Her ears heard water and an alarm was going off. The stand user was trying to sink the submarine to kill the ones on board. 'Oh hell no. I'm not letting them die down here.,' the tiny pillar though to herself and kicked the door until it opened. Her feet left deep imprints in the door. "This way!," the plum haired girl shouted to the humans, "There's some scuba equipment this way, you can escape with it!" They followed her and got the equipment on, Joseph had to be helped since his hand was cut off. The little girl clipped his gear on him.
Joseph showed them the hand signals to use when they were diving before Avdol reminded him that they could talk through their stands."I know a hand signal!," Polnareff said and showed them. He clapped his hands together, made a peace sign, an okay sign then put his hand over his eyes like he was shielding them from the sun. Kakyoin knew what the sign meant, "Your underwear is showing." (Y/n) jumped up and gave both a slap on the head while Joseph scolded them. Jotaro noticed that there was not any equipment for (y/n) to use. "I can do well without equipment at this depth. Father and I swam across the Atlantic Ocean before.," the child spoke, "I'm adapted to breathe through my skin. I can pull oxygen from the water around me."
Joseph let the water in and it was filling the room. It got up to the men's knees and the tiny child was swimming circles around them after she bagged all of her valuables in waterproof bags. Her long hair was trailing her like a mass of plum violet wavy seaweed. "The water tastes like fish!," she said as she swam by Jotaro and Kakyoin. The redhead snickered as the water levels rose and the child was getting higher and higher in the water.
The room was completely under water after a few minutes. Joseph opened the hatch and motioned for (y/n) to go up to the surface. The plum haired girl swam towards the Egypt coast and rose slowly to not get any adverse effects. She looked back to see if the others were okay. Joseph motioned to her to keep going. She nodded and continued up, stopping to look at corals and rest every so often. She kept sensing the stand behind her, it was probably tricky for the others to deal with it. She should go to the surface and save them by taking out the user by herself.
The girl kept on swimming up until she got to the coast. Her head broke the surface of the waves and she looked around. It was sunrise. The shore was nice, but not as beautiful as the ocean bottom. Her ability to breathe through her skin saved her a lot of trouble, she was glad that she inherited that from her father. The child swam to the shore and saw a woman standing on the beach. (Y/n) knew this was the stand user because there was nobody else. 'How kind of you to send us a welcome party, dear brother.,' the pillar girl thought as she climbed out of the water and hopped along the rocks. The woman looked back to the little girl and got a golden sandal clad kick to the face. The woman staggered and fell backwards. "I'm sorry, but there are some people I need to protect.," the child said as she swiped her hand across the woman's neck, severing her head. The girl made the death as painless as possible for mercy reasons.
She left the body and climbed on a rock to sun herself and dry off while she waited for her companions. She knew her family would be proud of her growth. Her father may have even let her keep these 'pets' she traveled with if he met them.
She was not going to eat that woman. She was a little hungry, but she did not need to eat at that moment. But perhaps soon, she knew that there were probably more stand users that her brother would send after them.
