Chapter Sixty-six: buggy friend
(Y/n) was allowed to walk around town by Santana after he found about the other pillars staying behind as ghosts. Her golden sandals tapped on the pavement as she walked along the sidewalk to play in town, her mood was high as she knew that she could talk to her uncles again and finally had a relationship with her mother. She felt a small presence brush past her legs. She looked down and saw a bug like thing. The small pillar picked it up, it was purple and gold in color. The bug wriggled in her hands, it was a stand! The little girl saw more running around with stamps and money. Her red eyes returned to the one she held, she dug a candy from her bag and held it up to the stand. "I want you to give this to your user.," the girl said and let the bug go. The stand ran away with the little candy in its small hands.
The little plum haired girl smiled, she was glad that she bought that small pack of candy. But now she was out and needed to get more. The little girl headed to the convenience store. She looked up and saw her uncles looking down at her before she headed in. She purchased the candies and a drink. The drink she was going to have in the park. It was a nice day to relax. She waved to her uncles and Reimi before going to the park to play.
Her sandals tapped as she ran on the sidewalk pavement. The sun was kissing her skin as she ran to the park. She jumped into a tree to drink her special drink. The little girl took the top off of the drink and took a sip. It was sweet and cold. It was wonderful in the warm weather, her small face had a sweet smile on it. She was in her traditional garb and accessories to show her stepbrother. It was very comfortable to move in. It was a lovely day in Morioh, the child was happy. That was, until she remembered that there was a murderer on the loose. Her smile dropped. Reimi suffered because of the vile man that was killing women.
(Y/n) wished to be able to help. The little pillar took another sip of her drink when she heard a laughing noise. A rotund human was walking up to the tree she was in and sat down with empty tins. He kept laughing. A male human, perhaps a middle schooler? He was round and had a odd hairstyle. The young pillar focused with her horns and felt a stand power coming from the boy. She did not know if he was friendly like Tonio, or an enemy like the one that killed Josuke's grandfather. She finished her drink and tossed it with great accuracy into the nearby trash bin. The boy was surprised by the sudden noise. He was even more surprised by the appearance of the little girl landing on the ground beside him with great metal wings behind her.
The boy fell back, his blue eyes wide in what seemed to be awe. The girl's red eyes accented by the red jewels that decorated her circlet and chiton scanned over the boy. Her horns stuck put from her hair and shone in the afternoon sun. This boy did not have any aggressive motives that she could sense. She looked back to see the bugs from before were surrounding her and the boy. He still seemed to be in awe. (Y/n)'s stand's wings stayed out and splayed behind her as she observed the bugs. "This is your power?," She finally asked the boy. "Yes. You can see them?," the rotund child asked. "I can. Like you can see my power's wings.," the young pillar replied, "What is your name?" The chubby human seemed stunned before he spoke again, "I'm Shigekiyo Yangu, I'm 13 years old, 110 kgs, my mommy calls me Shigechi."
"My name is (y/n). I am 4219 years old. I don't know how much I weigh. My parents are dead, so I live with my guard.," the plum haired pillar child spoke, "My family have stayed around as ghosts." This 'Shigechi' did not seem to know whether or not she was joking around. She did seem to be quite powerful. "Does this mean that we are friends?," the round boy asked. The red eyed girl looked back to him after picking up several of his stand, "I guess we are."
"Then, you can come to my house and see my pet turtle!," the boy exclaimed excitedly. His stand started to throw money they picked up into the cans that Shigechi brought. The plum haired pillar watched him and his stand gather all of the coins. "You have a turtle?," the little girl asked. Shigechi nodded with glee, "Yes, his name is Gonta!" (Y/n) was interested in the turtle. She got her interest in animals from her father. She agreed to go to the boy's home. It was on the way to Josuke's. It was a modest sized home with a warm grey color scheme and pretty flowers around it. The red eyed girl followed behind her round new friend. His mother answered the door. She was pretty, for a human. Not as pretty as Ivory, though.
The boy introduced the little girl to his mother. (Y/n) gave her a polite bow. She could see immense joy in the eyes of this woman, she was probably happy that her son had found a friend to interact with. Shigechi showed the little girl his room and his turtle. It was a pond turtle. The little reptile was very cute and friendly. It splashed and swam around in his aquarium. "He's really cute. These live a long time, up to forty years. They are really good companions for humans, not as good as a cat or dog, but they are good regardless.," the young pillar spoke, "I wonder if Daddy would have let me get a turtle."
(Y/n)'s little fingers ran over the shell of the terrapin. It seemed to like the tactile sensation and moved its shell back and forth to feel more. Shigechi picked up a toothbrush, "He likes to be brushed. Use this." The little girl took the toothbrush from the boy and rubbed the bristles on the shell of the pond turtle, the reptile started to move again to be brushed more. "He does like it!," (y/n) laughed, "He's so cute." The two children laughed at the cute little 'brush dance' the turtle was doing. Shigechi's mother looked in on the two to check out what they were laughing about and to check on the children themselves. (Y/n) could tell where both o the adult humans were in the house thanks to her horns.
It was fun playing with the turtle and Shigechi. He was pretty good with board games. The little girl noticed the time was slipping by and she needed to go see Josuke. "Hey, Shigechi, we will have to play again another day. I need to get going.," the little girl said, "See you." "Bye bye.," the round boy replied and waved a chubby hand as the small girl left his room. She walked down the stairs and was stopped by the boy's parents. "Thank you for befriending our son."
"Shigechi is a nice boy.," the little girl said with a large smile on her face. The sun was beginning to set, Santana was more than likely already out and about. The small child was let put of the door by the boy's mother. In front of the door was the imposing figure of Santana. The parents were afraid of the intimidating figure that had darkened their doorway. His scarlet eyes looked at the humans before looking at the child, "Lady (y/n)." The little girl smiled up at him, "Hi Santana, are you ready to go see Josuke?" The vermillion haired man gave a nod before looking back to the humans, "Who?" "The parents of my new friend.," the little girl chirped and looked back to the humans, "This is Santana, he's my bodyguard." Santana gave a small bow before extending his hand to the little girl. She took it and walked away with the older pillar.
"Did you have fun with the human?," the man asked. "I did. His pet turtle is cute and he is good at games.," the plum haired pillar child replied and gripped the hand of her bodyguard. Santana made small hum, "Why did Josuke want to see us again?" "He wanted to learn more about our family.," (y/n) replied with a smile on her face.
Santana smiled down to the small child. The two walked together as the sun set below the horizon and a familiar wind blew the hair of the pair. The little girl looked up to her other side and saw her mother. The woman smiled down at her with a twinkle in her green eyes. Behind them was Wamuu and Esidisi. They had ventured from the ghost alley to join them on this walk. Santana looked behind him, he saw Wamuu and Esidisi after developing the ability to see ghosts. "So you came.," the vermillion haired pillar said to his old allies. "Of course. Josuke is part of the Joestar legacy, I want to meet him officially.," Ivory smiled, "Santana."
The two horned pillar's pinkened a bit and held the hand of his master's daughter, "I guess." (Y/n) took her mother's ghostly hand. The woman held her daughter's hand. The small family walked together through the darkness of the night. Esidisi had a big smile on his face as he watched the only two living pillars on the planet. It was cute to watch.
The familiar house came into view for the two pillars, they walked up to the house with the ghosts following them. Santana picked up the child and let her knock on the door. The last of the sun's rays were dipping below the horizon. The door opened and Tomoko was there. The woman looked a little surprised to see the intimidating man and the little girl again. "Santana, I was not expecting you.," the woman said, "Did Josuke ask you to come over?" "He did.," Santana answered, "He wanted to talk about something." The sound of barking and skittering paws made (y/n) gasp with a grin. Iggy ran out of the house and to the two pillars, he was barking and wagging his tail.
Santana did not know how to react so he held the little girl up higher to keep her away from the dog. Josuke came running out after the dog, "Iggy!" He stopped when he saw Santana and his stepsister, "Oh! You came! Great!" "We wouldn't miss out, Josuke.," the plum haired girl smiled as Santana set her on his shoulder. Josuke put his shoes on and gave his mother a smile, "I'm Going with them. Santana is going to show me some of the moves he has from his culture." "Don't stay out too late.," Tomoko replied to her son, "It may be Saturday, but you still need to get your sleep."
Josuke and Santana walked together as (y/n) jumped from Santana's shoulder to Josuke's. Iggy followed them, his tongue lolling as he walked. The teen was excited. "You two are going to spar?," the little girl asked her stepbrother. "Yeah, Santana said he'd go easy on me.," the blue-violet eyed young man smiled, "Right?" "Don't know the concept of 'going easy'.," Santana responded. A raspy laugh made Josuke turn and look behind him. His eyes widened as the sight of the three following them. Esidisi had a menacing grin on his face, Wamuu stood tall and Ivory was waving side to side with a kind smile on her face. The Japanese teen looked at Santana, "I thought you were the last one left."
"I am. They are dead.," Santana said bluntly. "That is cold.," Esidisi cackled, "If I had my blood, I'd give you a bit of punishment for that chilly attitude." "You're dead, so you can't.," the Vermilion haired pillar shot back, emboldened by the duty he was given and his status as the last full blooded pillar left on earth. The dark skinned deceased pillar made a displeased face as the woman stepped between them. "Now, now. Let's behave and give Josuke a good impression. You are proud warriors, not children.," Ivory spoke to the two before she turned to Josuke, "Hello, Josuke. I am Ivory, (y/n)'s mother. It is nice to meet you."
Ivory held her hand out for Josuke to shake. Josuke looked at her hand and hesitated. He tok her hand and shook it. "Thank you for looking after my daughter until Santana came to take care of her.," the ancient woman smiled, "You are handsome, like your father was when he was your age." "You knew my father?," Josuke asked. "No. I never met him face to face, but I was watching him while watching over my daughter. He really angered my husband.," the ghost woman laughed. "Your husband, Kars?," the teen asked. The brunette ghost nodded, "Not really my husband, but I like to call him that."
Santana and Esidisi quietly got into a discussion behind Josuke and Ivory. The blond pillar walked up to the young man and gave him a polite bow, "I am Wamuu. Your father defeated me over sixty years ago." "Oh, nice to meet you.," The teen replied. Josuke was confused at the sudden appearance of these fallen warriors. What were they here for? His stepsister was not worried about them at all and greeted them with great glee. The Japanese teen felt a little intimidated by these fallen people, they all had a story behind them and power that was unknown to him. Even the woman seemed to have some sort of power.
(Y/n) saw how Josuke looked uncomfortable, "It's okay, Josuke. Mama and my uncles just wanted to meet you. You are part of the Joestar bloodline, a bloodline with great ability and so entwined with fate." Her small hands hugged his head. Her family was here, but it was not complete. There was one missing. She heard Santana huff in irritation from Esidisi's teasing, the vermillion haired pillar man walked by and looked at the human boy. "Follow. We'll spar over here.," the ancient warrior spoke and led the teen to a small field outside of town.
The little girl was set down in the grass and her mother sat beside her. Esidisi and Wamuu sat beside them. Josuke called his stand out to get ready for Santana. What he was not prepared for was Santana's rib blades. The ribs shot out of his torso like a bear trap. This was very unsettling to the Japanese teen. The face Josuke made caused Esidisi to laugh. "Wow, I was not expecting that Santana.," The Japanese teen spoke to his sparring partner. "If I accidentally break a bone, I can set it. You can't heal yourself like I can.," Santana responded, "Unless you want to observe the sparring between (y/n) and myself."
"I think I got this, Santana.," Josuke replied, "Now, let's get to it shall we?"
