chapter sixty-eight: The history

(Y/n) wandered Morioh until sundown, where she returned to the Higashikata house. Josuke was still a bit sore and bruised. The small pillar child had a little smile on her face as she watched him. He gave her a look, "What is that smile for?" "You look like your great grandfather like that.~," the tiny child chimed, "He was so big and strong." Josuke sighed and sat by the small child on the couch, her smile did not go away as she reached up and grabbed his head to pull him down closer to hers. She quickly nuzzled his cheek before letting him go and Goin to play with Iggy. It was a sunday, which means it was a school night for Josuke. Tomoko looked down at the child and the dog as they wandered into the kitchen.
"Santana is pretty good looking. How old is he?," Tomoko asked the small child. "He's around nineteen.," the little girl replied as Iggy made a snickering sound that the girl made a shushing sound to. This did not go unnoticed by the woman who became a little suspicious of the answer the little girl gave, "He is nineteen and looking after a five to six year old? What kind of society did you two come from?" "A society of warriors. It was peaceful. The only thing we had to worry about was how we were going to prepare out meals.," the tiny girl responded truthfully yet also hid much from the human woman.

The plum haired pillar girl watched the woman cook dinner and plate the food. She noticed one extra plate. "Wait. Tomoko, why is there another plate?," the little girl asked as she peered over the table. "Because I am not letting you not eat dinner again.," the woman answered and sat the little girl on a chair that had a few cushions in it to let her be at the right height. Tomoko called Josuke to come for dinner and they all ate together. The meal was not bad at all. It was human food. Home food. The little girl ate the food that she was so graciously given. She helped Tomoko to wash the dishes as Josuke got ready for bed.
(Y/n) saw Josuke walk by in his pajamas. He was yawning. Bruises from the fight he had with Santana were on his skin. The little girl ran after him to follow him to the bathroom. He was brushing his teeth when she caught up to him. The little girl watched him for a bit before he realized he was being watched. He looked down to see her little red eyes staring at him. He looked back for a little bit before handing her a little toothbrush so she could brush her teeth with. The plum haired pillar brushed her sharp little teeth. Josuke washed her face with a washcloth after she was finished brushing her teeth. Her soft skin squished and stretched like silicone as he rubbed the wet cloth on her face.

Josuke walked to his room with the tiny pillar following like a baby duck. Tomoko found this adorable as the two wandered into the room. The woman heard her son groan and she looked in. The tiny little girl was curled up next to Josuke as he was hugging her like he hugged his teddy bears when he was a small boy. Tomoko smiled and walked away, she stopped at a picture of a young Josuke during his birthday on the wall and looked at it. She stopped smiling when she saw a familiar face in the background. (Y/n) was there in the background, holding a present. She looked exactly the same. Tomoko remembered an antique photo in the little girl's bag and went to find it. She did find it and picked it up to look at it, (y/n) was sitting on the lap of a nobleman with his two sons on either side of him. The woman turned the photo over and read the caption. 'Father, Johnathan, Dio and I.'
Tomoko fell back on the couch after reading it. She put it all together. The little girl was not human and long lived. But, just what was she? The woman saw some other pictures in the girl's bag and took them out. There was a picture of the little girl with a huge man. And several other muscular men. The Japanese woman flipped them over to look at the writing on the back of them. 1938. Each of them had names inscribed on them. Esidisi, Wamuu, Kars. Kars. Tomoko recognized it as the name of (y/n)'s biological father. That big, muscular man with the hat on was her father, Kars.

Another piece of writing caught the woman's attention, Pillar men. The woman jumped when she heard a tapping on the window behind her. She turned to see it was Santana, the vermillion haired man was outside. Perhaps he was looking for (y/n)? Tomoko went to the door and opened it, "(y/n) and Josuke are asleep." Santana nodded and pointed to the pictures in her hand, "You saw." The woman nodded and Santana motioned if he could come in. "What are you and (y/n)?," the woman asked. "Humans call us pillar men, however, (y/n) is only half since lady Ivory, her mother, was human.," Santana answered and was let in by the woman.
The vermillion haired man sat on the couch after being welcomed in by Tomoko, "I'll make this quick for you since you have to work tomorrow. You may ask me questions, I will tell you answers." "How old are you and (y/n)?," the woman asked. "I am around 10,000 years old. (Y/n)'s age is more straightforward as she is 4,217 years.," the pillar man answered, "In human terms, she is around 5 to 8, I am in my mid to late teens." "What do you eat? I have been wondering that.," the woman inquired, "(y/n) always declines food I offer her." "She is not satisfied by human food. It does fill the stomach she has, yet she needs greater calories and quantities of food. Our natural diet is large animals we hunt or... humans who have thrown away their souls.," Santana replied.

He pulled a picture of a mask out of the coat he was wearing and set it on the table in front of Tomoko, "This mask. It was made by her father, my master, a long time ago. It makes humans corrupt into something unhuman, their souls are forfeit as soon as they place the mask on their face." "This does not make much sense, are you and that little girl some sort of monster race?," the woman asked. Santana's red eyes looked to the pictures of Josuke that was displayed and pointed to one, "She has been around for a long time. Unlike the rest of us, she has great love for humanity and wants to protect the innocent. She has been watching over the Joestar line for over one hundred years after meeting Johnathan Joestar, Joseph's grandfather. Josuke's great grandfather.," Santana explained, "(y/n) must have found Josuke while she wandered. She loves human children. She has been called many things by the children she plays with. A princess, a kijo, a zashiki-warashi, an angel, some even think she is some sort of ghost."
Tomoko looked to the picture, "Josuke did say he found a Kijo girl one day at school. All of the children saw her, yet the adults could never get her." Santana made a small smile and stood, "do you have any other questions for me?" "What happened to the rest of your people, her mother and father?", Tomoko asked.

Santana seemed to seethe with this question before he calmed, Tomoko saw the flesh at his sides seem to crawl. "Joseph killed her uncles. Joseph defeated her father. He once defeated me. As for her mother, she was killed by humans. Humans who were afraid of Lord Kars and her.," the warrior replied and paused, "You need not fear us. I let go of my want to harm humanity as soon as I had the purpose of protecting (y/n). She wants to protect humanity from the worst of itself. She means no harm to anyone. Goodnight, Tomoko Higashikata." The vermilion haired man left the house and a stunned Tomoko. She looked at the picture of the mask he left on the table next to the other pictures. Her head was spinning from all of the new information she was getting. She was tired, she would deal with it in the morning.
She passed by Josuke's room and looked in. (Y/n) and Josuke were still fast asleep. Josuke was still hugging her like she was a comfy little teddy bear. Iggy was on the foot of the bed with them. Even with the information she learned about the child, she did not think any different of her. She seemed to only have a lot more respect for the tiny girl who loved her family so great to the point of wanting to protect them. The Japanese woman went to bed.

(Y/n) yawned and woke up early the next morning. She was being crushed. Josuke had rolled on top of her. Not really the first time this happened. Polnareff and Joseph both rolled on top of her before. The tiny pillar let out an annoyed sigh and pushed him off of her and off of the bed. Josuke landed with a loud and heavy thud. He woke with a start and looked up to the red eyes looking at him, "I was a pillar pancake. Your big butt was crushing me." Josuke pouted at her then grinned, "Is that all?" He had his hands up and making a grabby motion to her. "Josuke, no.," the little girl shook her head and backed up on the bed. "You're calling me fat?," Josuke asked and stalked closer, his hands making more grabby motions. Iggy know what was up and jumped off of the bed while wagging his tail and making a bark. (Y/n) tried to follow before getting caught by Crazy Diamond and being handed off to Josuke.
The teen tickled her and blew raspberries on her cheeks. The small pillar squealed with laughter as this happened. "Are you going to say sorry?," Josuke asked with a playful grin. "You were crushing me! You apologize!," the little girl said and pulled his cheeks. Her own cheeks were puffed up in a pout and pink from having raspberries blown on them. The grin Josuke made reminded (y/n) of when Joseph was much younger, back when holly was a baby. He was acting like his playful father.

Josuke shook her little hands off of his cheeks and squeezed his stepsister tight, "I'd love to stay and play with you more, but I have to get to school.," Josuke grinned, "How about walking to school with me? You can ride my shoulders." The little girl was still pouting as she was put down on the floor. She ran out of his room to let him get ready for the day. The small red eyed pillar slowed down as she almost ran into Tomoko, the woman looked down to her. Her brown eyes saw big red ones looking back at her. "I talked to Santana last night.," the woman spoke, "I know that you are not human."
"Then he also told you about my mother and father.," the little girl replied. Tomoko knelt down, "What have you been eating? Santana told me about how you are not satisfied by human food." "I mostly go hunt deer, sometimes I go catch fish.," the little girl replied. "You have not eaten a human?," the woman asked. "Not in eleven years. The one I ate tried to kill Joseph when we were traveling, he was a very evil man.," the child replied, "I don't like to hurt humans."

The little girl walked to the place she kept her bag and noticed the pictures were out. She picked up the picture of her and her father. The little pillar looked back at Tomoko, "Daddy is really handsome, isn't he?" The little girl smiled at the picture of her father then pulled a picture out that Tomoko missed. The picture that one of the Speedwagon foundation men took as her father became the ultimate lifeform. When he was bathing in the light of the sun. The tiny girl showed this picture to Tomoko. "This is my daddy before he was shot into space by a volcano.," the child said with a smile. The woman looked to the man's feet and saw the tiny girl barely up to her father's knee, showing the scale of this man.
"Your father is very handsome.," the woman replied and went to get ready for work, "I'm still surprised that you are not human." (Y/n) smiled at the picture, "Are you scared of me, Tomoko?" "No. I trust you. And I trust Santana.," the woman spoke, "You two are good people." The little girl looked to the woman. The child saw that Josuke was ready and jumped onto his back as he walked out the door. She and Josuke wished Tomoko a good day as they went on a walk to the highschool.

Josuke and (y/n) had high spirits as they walked together. A voice called out to them. It was Koichi and Okuyasu, the two teens ran to catch up with the siblings. "Oi, Josuke, good morning! Good morning, (y/n)!," Okuyasu greeted. "Good morning you two.," the small pillar replied, "Are you feeling good this morning?" "I feel great!," Okuyasu replied. Koichi nodded, "I am fine, thank you. How are you feeling Josuke? How was the sparring against Santana?"
"He kicked my ass.," Josuke replied, "I don't know how dad did it." "With hamon and a bunch of trickery.," (y/n) chirped and held the head of her stepbrother. "Oh? Really? What power does he have?," Okuyasu asked, "Is it cool?" "It is pretty disturbing. He extends his ribs to slice and attack people along with his insane other body powers.," Josuke shuddered. "All of us have some sort of body manipulation power.," the plum haired little girl said as she rode on Josuke's shoulder, "I don't know what mine would have been. Perhaps something similar to my father's bone blades?"

"Perhaps you might have developed something completely new.," The voice of santana made the teens stop and turn around. Santana was out in the sunlight in his cloak and favorite clothes. Caesar was with Santana and greeted the children, "Ciao~" "Ciao Caesar!," the little girl greeted and jumped from her stepbrother's shoulder to Caesar's. Her little hands grabbed his hair as she snuggled his head. Caesar stumbled back with the sudden weight of the tiny girl on his shoulders. Santana watched this happen as a small smile creeped onto his face. Josuke and the other teens saw these old friends interact. Santana looked to the teens after watching the little girl and Caesar. "Josuke. Are you healing well?," the pillar man asked.
The British-japanese teen nodded. Koichi stepped up to the pillar man, "Um. Santana, how are you walking outside? The sun is out." Santana looked at the silver haired boy, "The Speedwagon foundation made some things to allow me to walk in daylight. I'm tying the special sunblock they made for me." Josuke checked the time and began to panic, "We gotta go! See you!" The British Japanese teen ran off with his friends following." "Have a good day, Josuke!," (y/n) yelled after her stepbrother. She got a grin and a wave from Josuke as he ran off.

Caesar chuckled, "He does act a little like his father, doesn't he?" (Y/n) smiled, "He does. He acts a lot like Jojo did." "At least he is more tolerable.," Santana added. The blond Italian walked with the little girl on his shoulder, the pillar man followed the two. "Say, do you know of any good places around here, (y/n)?," Caesar inquired, "I want to have something good to eat." "There's an Italian restaurant next to the Cemetery.," the little girl replied and pointed towards the Italian restaurant's direction, "Tonio is a good cook and a very kind man. He healed my horns with his food."
"Heal?," Santana asked, "Is that his power?" "Yes! His stand allows him to heal people with his food. Such delicious food.," the little girl replied, "I'm sure that if you had anything wrong with you, he would be able to help." Caesar thought a bit as he and Santana walked. "I will go there and try it then.," Caesar spoke with a smile, "Care to have some human food as well, Santana?" Santana nodded. The two followed the little girl's directions to the restaurant.

She hopped off of Caesar and walked into the restaurant. She sensed Tonio in the back, Caesar and Santana walked in just as Tonio turned the corner. "Ciao, (y/n). Did you bring some friends?," the chef asked the girl before looking to his customers. He saw Caesar and froze. "Is that... are you, Caesar Zeppeli?," Tonio asked of the blond italian. "Si. I am Caesar Zeppeli.," the blond actor replied and took a bow. "What an honor, you were one of my favorite actors when I was growing up.," the chef said, "Please, come take a seat. I'll take care of all of you." Tonio saw Santana and the horns on the man's head, he understood that this was another like (y/n).
The little girl and her friends sat at a table. Tonio clapped his hands together.

"Now, let's start the meal."
