Chapter Seventy-eight: aliens and patients
Josuke woke early and got up. He noticed that (y/n) was not on his chest like she usually was and Iggy was no longer at the foot of his bed. He had not slept well the previous night because he stayed up late. The British-Japanese teen went to get ready for the day, only coming back and finding that his uniform jacket was missing. He had his uniform pants on and his undershirt. Josuke looked for his jacket, "Mom! Have you seen my jacket?!" Tomoko looked into her son's room, "I have not." She herself was dressing to get to her job, "You better get yourself something to eat and get to school." The woman left her son to get ready, Josuke left his room to check the rest of the house and heard the small voice of his stepsister.
He followed the voice of his sister. It sounded like she was mimicking him and his favorite things to say. He found her in the living room in his uniform jacket, the sleeves were way too big for her tiny arms. Tomoko saw this and started to giggle from the little girl playing. "What did you say about my hair?!," The little girl mimicked Josuke's tone to Iggy and acted out like she was punching, "Dorararara!" Iggy was wagging his tail and barked at the little girl. Her little acting session was interrupted by being picked up.
"I need that back.," Josuke said to the tiny child who was wearing his jacket. She puffed her cheeks up. She did give the jacket back and pouted a little more before getting and idea and pulling something out of her bag. Josuke saw her put something else on and she started acting out someone else's life. After he got dressed, he looked down to the energetic little half pillar, "Want to come to school with me?" (Y/n) gave him a big smile and jumped up onto his shoulder and hug his head. The two left for school. Okuyasu joined them as they made their way to the high school. Josuke was yawning during the walk. The warmth he was getting from his stepsister and his not sleeping as much as he should was making him sleepy. Okuyasu was talking about how he picked up cooking and was enjoying it. The plum haired child listened to the teen talk.
The small group went the long around to school, through some fields and over a train track. Josuke yawned and stretched, "I am so tired. I should not have stayed up so late." He felt small knuckles rap on his head, "All hair, no brain." "Oi. Watch it, you know what will happen otherwise.," the teen warned. Okuyasu laughed, "I slept great!" "Good for you.," Josuke grumbled. A strange scent filled (y/n)'s nostrils. She sensed an energy nearby. A strange energy.
Okuyasu pointed to a strange pattern in the crop field beside them, "Josuke! Look! A crop circle!" "A crop circle, in Morioh? It has to be a prank.," Josuke said and looked at the crop circle. (Y/n)'s red eyes scanned it as she searched for the energy that she sensed. Josuke saw an arm in the crop circle and placed the child down, "Stay here, I see someone in it!" He and Okuyasu went to check the guy in the crop circle out. He was fine. He rose to his feet without using his arms, like some otherworldly force pushed up. The young man in the crop circle was blond with green eyes. He had a school uniform on that had space themed decorations on it. His ears were pointed at the tips and a chain extended from one of his ears to his nose.
He looked around and turned to the two teens with him, "Where... Am I?" "You're in the middle of a field.," Okuyasu answered as he and Josuke stood after they fell from being startled. "Is this Earth?," the blond asked. Josuke and Okuyasu looked a little questioning to the newcomer. (Y/n) hopped up onto a post to get a better look at this strange new person who decided to claim that he was an alien. The two teen began laughing hysterically at the blond. 'Looks like they lost it.,' the little pillar girl thought to herself and hopped off of the post, 'I'll go on my own, they'll catch up later.'
The plum haired girl's red eyes saw that the young man's green eyes looked towards her as she hopped away, bounding quickly over the countyside. 'I wonder if I can get ice cream if I get to the shop early?,' the little pillar thought to herself. She walked into the town once she got there and found the ice cream shop. It was closed. "No ice cream. Well, who needs ice cream this early anyways?," the child asked nobody in particular and kept walking. "I wonder how Haruno is. He has to be thirteen years old by now.," the pillar child thought to herself. Her plum colored hair followed her as she happily skipped through the streets. Her little red eyes looked everywhere as she wandered around. She still was exploring a city that she thought she knew where everything was. She could go see if Tonio wanted some help. She did not want to go see Caesar or Joseph, especially since Avalon still held a grudge against them.
(Y/n) hopped up onto a stone wall and looked at the people and streets below her. She saw people she recognized as other stand users. Hazamada, that one loan shark, Yukako, and others. She heard the ringing clatter of her stand's wings. "I did not call you out.," she spoke softly, "Why are you here?" "We're linked. I know when you are not feeling well.," the voice of her stand replied. "Makes sense.," the child spoke as her red eyes stayed on the humans below her. "Did you mean what you said, about caring about Jojo?," The male voice of her stand ask.
"I do. I care about all of the Joestars.," (y/n) answered her stand, "Jonathan to Joseph, Jotaro and Jolyne, Josuke... They are my family." "I am your family.," her father's, her stand's voice responded, "Now, why are you upset?" "You already know the answer. You have heard us speak.," the plum haired child said. "Why not go visit your human pet in the hospital?," the metallic stand asked and floated in front of his user, "You do care about him, right?" The child hopped off of the wall and walked down the street, her stand followed. "The hospital is in the other direction.," she heard him speak, "Don't you want to see if your human pets are okay?" "I don't know if he will want to see me, if his parents would want to see me.," the young pillar replied to her stand that floated right above her as she walked, "I could not completely save him. He will have to be put into prosthesics for the rest of his life."
She heard her father chuckle, "The fragility of humans. So delicate and weak." "That's mom you are also talking about.," The little girl snapped to her father. She heard him make a small laugh, "I know. And a bit of yourself." "Don't rub it in.," the child pouted as she walked through the narrow streets to avoid humans. Her small sandal clad feet tapped on the pavement as her stand followed behind her. "How are you here? How did you fuse with my stand?," the child asked her father. "I followed you back. That is how.," the stand spoke, "My want to no longer be alone and my need to protect you spurred me to come back."
(Y/n) wandered aimlessly through Morioh, walking through streets and weaving between humans. The seraphim like stand hovered over her as she walked. She found herself walking to the hospital. Her red eyes watched as a young man was wheeled in, he had been in a motorcycle accident from what she heard the paramedics say. There was a strange energy that seemed to surround the motorcyclist. The tiny girl walked into the lobby of the hospital after deciding that she may as well see her friend and tried to get the attention of one of the workers. The child sighed when she could not get the attention of the receptionist. "Excuse me!," She finally shouted. She saw the receptionist peer over the desk and look down to her, "Why is there a toddler here?" "I'm not a toddler!," (y/n) pouted, "I'm just small for my age."
"What do you want, kid?," the receptionist asked rudely. The tiny red eyes stared at her, "I am here to visit a patient. I can find him myself if you are going to be rude." "Visiting hours have not even started yet.," the receptionist mocked. 'Wow, rude.,' the pillar child thought to herself. She saw her stand reach over the desk and push a pen holder off of the desk. The receptionist looked down and gathered up the pens. When the human looked back over the desk, the child was gone. The plum haired girl ran past her desk and into the elevator with a doctor after Avalon made a distraction for her.
She got up to the floor where Shigechi was and sniffed at the air and felt the energies to sense her friend. She followed the scent to Shigechi's room. He looked like he had lost a bit of weight from having to work with physical therapy. His blue eyes the plum haired girl looking into his room. "(Y/n)! You're here!," the boy chimed, "I was wondering when you would come for a visit!" The little girl walked in and hopped onto the bed. "To be honest, I almost did not come visit, Shigechi.," The girl said with a solemn look, "I'm... I'm sorry, for being a bad friend. I couldn't save all of you." "What are you talking about? You did save me.," the teen asked, "You risked your own life to save mine, even carrying my fat butt here. Although, it's not as fat as it was." He was smiling with a carefree spirit. Shigechi sat up, "You're different than before. There's something different." "Different?," the girl asked. "Yeah.," Shigechi nodded, "Like something that was missing is finally back in place. A piece of a puzzle was found."
"There's not much different about me. Other than my stand.," (y/n) told her friend. The skinnier Shigechi leaned forward, "Let me see!" "I don't know how he will react. He's basically a sentient stand.," the pillar girl responded. Shigechi was a little confused. She sighed, "He can think for himself. And talk from his own mind." "I want to meet him!," the teen said excitedly. The plum haired girl looked at her friend's blue eyes before looking up to the red ones that appeared above her. The teen's blue eyes followed his friend's and saw the metallic seraphim like stand hovering over his user.
"Avalon is his name. But I know him as my father, Kars.," (y/n) spoke and the stand looked down at her with his red jewel-like eyes. Shigechi let his harvest out, "I've been using Harvest at night to get snacks from the vending machines, but the doctors keep taking my snacks." The little plum haired pillar started laughing, "That sounds like something you would do, Shigechi." Her little giggles were joined by Shigechi's signature laugh. "I don't like the food here. It does not taste as good as mommy's cooking.," the teen boy said, "I miss mommy and daddy." "There's nobody's love that is better than a parent's, huh?," the little girl smiled, "You're fortunate to have them." Shigechi's blue eyes widened and he waved his arms around, "I did not mean to..." "It's okay, I've come to terms with it.," the little girl smiled and reached out to her father that floated over her in the form of her stand, "My fate has already been laid out for me. Yours has yet to unfold."
Shigechi got a serious look on his face, "When I get out of the hospital, I want to go to this Tonio's restaurant. I hear it is good Italian food. We can talk about whatever and play more afterwards." He held up his hand, his pinky was in the air. The smaller hand of the Pillar child covered his hand, "I'm no good with promises. People who I makes promises to end up hurt. And sometimes worse..."
Her time talking to Shigechi was cut short after a doctor came in and shooed the child out of the room, Shigechi had to be taken to therapy again. (Y/n) took it as her sign to leave and walked out of the room and left the hospital. She roamed the streets again. Wandering aimlessly. Her attention was brought to a large white house after her name was called, "(y/n)-san." Her red eyes looked over and saw green eyes. Rohan was sitting on his porch, a sketchbook was in his hands. The little girl walked over and hopped onto the railing of his porch. "Hello, Rohan, Josuke won't like that I am talking to you. Neither would Santana.," the little girl spoke. "Then let's be glad they aren't here.," the mangaka replied and motioned to the chair on the opposite side of the table he was sitting at, "Please sit. I'd love to talk to you. I heard your stand has emerged."
"He has.," the child replied and got on the chair, her eyes barely peered over the edge of the table. "He? Oh, I hope it is not too much to ask about him.," the green haired mangaka said and pulled out a sketchbook. "You can ask him questions. He can answer for himself.," the tiny girl spoke and looked beside her as the stand materialized. The red red of the stand looked between his user and the human that sat across from her. The stand picked her up out of the chair and sat her on the table. Rohan cleared his throat to get the attention of the stand, "So... can I start the interview?"
