Chapter Seven: Revenants

Dio and (y/n) perched high above the battle below. The blond man watching the fight with glee as the girl was disgusted with the evil her mask was used for. This somehow felt familiar. The risen warriors reminded her of something she had seen long ago. Especially blueford and his long hair. What was it? What was it? Her red eyes gazed over the scene and looked to the two behind Jonathan. Speedwagon was looking between the Knights and her, as if begging the girl to assist Jonathan with her ancient power. Jonathan was able to free himself from being tangled in Blueford's hair by burning the hair away with hamon. Blueford seemed impressed and called up to Dio, "Lord Dio, I will take care of this boy myself. I sense skill in him."
Dio seemed to be pleased as the two began to fight. Blueford engaged Jonathan as Tarukus set his sights on Speedwagon and Baron Zeppeli. The blond vampire floated closer to the ancient girl, "My supervision is no longer needed here, I will depart to make more zombies and take over Wind Knight's Lot, then invade all of England like a plague. I'll let you think over my offer, dear (y/n). I know you can find me when you have your answer." He tapped the tip of her main horn and disappeared into the night.

He was not very sincere with his affectionate tone to her, he just wanted her to help him have more control over the world he wanted to make. He more than likely knew she had some power she was not aware of yet. The girl hissed in disgust and looked back to the battle below her. Jonathan and Blueford were underwater and fighting. A few minutes later, she saw Jonathan and the warrior shot out of the water. Jonathan had made a pretty good attempt to hit the warrior. But he only grazed the revenant with his fist. Blueford wrapped Jonathan up in his hair and threw him against a tree, the warrior had Jonathan's limbs pinned to his body, making Hamon use difficult. (Y/n) gasped and jumped down from her perch. The little girl saw the bigger warrior, Tarukus, standing over Speedwagon and Baron Zeppeli. She used her speed and strength to knock the warrior's arm back as he began to swing his blade at the two men in front of him. The little girl used that momentum to change direction quickly and attack Blueford, she grazed her hand on him to sever the revenant's arm as he swung his blade. The girl kicked him to fall forward, right into the hamon filled foot of Jonathan. The hair that bound Jonathan vanished as he filled his fists with Hamon. The little girl watched as her brother pummeled the warrior.

Blueford fell back on the ground and picked up his sword with his remaining arm, he was still determined to fight. The girl felt something change inside the warrior before her. "I am the black knight Blueford. This pain is nothing to me!," the revenant announced as he got up to attack Jonathan. The girl and Jonathan did nothing to stop him, the child looking up at the warrior standing above them as he stopped his sword at the last second. The sword cut Jonathan's cheek. The revenant looked like he was no longer monstrous, his soul had been restored by hamon. "Blueford, it's time for you to return to your rest.," the little girl spoke, "Your queen is waiting for you." "You are in pain. You feel pain.," Jonathan said. Blueford made a small smile and fell to his knees. He looked between the two before him. "I stopped fighting you because I knew you were not going to kill me. You felt pain.," Jonathan explained, "You felt. That is why you stopped your sword."
Up close, (y/n) could see Blueford's face very well. He made her see flashes of a warrior from her past. A warrior that seemed to be more important to her than the others. Blueford had a smile. He looked at peace with himself and what was happening. He seemed happy. "You believed that I would stop my attack, that is what kept you from counter-attacking. Is your trust in humans that strong?" (Y/n) knew that question, although directed at both of them, was inquiring for her answer more.

The warrior coughed and let go of his sword, "If I feel pain, then I can feel joy as well. This is humanity." (Y/n)'s red eyes turned away from this man before she looked back, "Your soul has been restored. Your humanity has come with it. And I apologize for the terrible power that disturbed your rest, good warrior." He was dying, but he was at peace with everything. He met a man of true compassion, he met Jonathan. "You two, tell me your names.," Blueford spoke, "Comapions to worlds so far different than mine." "I am Jonathan Joestar.," Jonathan spoke. "And I am (y/n).," the child added. The warrior held out his sword, "Jonathan, I grant you the word engraved into the sword given into the sword given to me by my Queen: luck." He sliced his finger on the blade and added a 'p' at the beginning of the word, "And for the future, I grant you this: Pluck." The knight placed the sword before Jonathan before holding his hand out to the child. "The future will hold great victory for you, but also great loss.," he spoke. The plum haired little girl took his bleeding hand as she felt him fade, "Say hello to our father, please." Blueford smiled and fell forward, turning into glowing dust that disappeared into the moonlight. All that was left of him was his armor. His queen was fortunate to have a good man like that, the girl wished him a safe trip into the afterlife and eternal rest and happiness with his queen that he loved.

The girl felt a malicious presence behind them. She turned and saw Tarukus. The Goliath of a man crushed his companion's armor with contempt to his memory. "I admired him, but cunning was his game as I chose to become the master of slaughter!," the massive knight exclaimed and raised his giant sword, "I crush, kill and destroy with brute strength alone! Let me hear your anguished cries!" The knight struck the ground with his sword, causing the ground to rupture and split apart. (Y/n) jumped up and out of the way. Her eyes watched the crazed warrior, his brute strength and ability to wield a massive weapon reminded her of one of her warriors that followed her. But that is where comparisons end. She knew her warriors would not attack as wildly as this. This was utterly barbaric. The boy from before, Poco, fell into the cracks made by the massive warrior. Jonathan was able to catch him. (Y/n) jumped as Tarukus swung his sword at her, he barley grazed her leg as she got away. Her blood had glowing particles in it as the wound on her leg closed quickly. She girl hopped from platform to platform, seemingly flying over the gaps. Appearing to be weightless as her movements glided after her brother and the others on a makeshift glider. She saw the eyes of the little boy look over to her as she kept up with them. The child noticed that Zeppeli seemed to have something on his mind. Something very important.

A sound made her look over to the glider again. Tarukus was attacking the glider after jumping off of the cliff. (Y/n) looked below them and saw what seemed to be a castle embedded in the side of the ravine wall, "Everyone, jump! There is a building down there." The girl landed lightly on the rail of the balcony they landed on. Tarukus crashed into the wall meters down from where they were. Speedwagon and Poco looked down to see the dust. The plum haired girl hopped down from the rail of the balcony and to the floor, "He was insane. Not even my warriors would do that without a direct order." She fixed and dusted off her chiton as Poco looked back at her with wide eyes.
"Why are you looking at me like that, human?," She asked. "Are you an angel?," the boy asked and made her laugh. "No. My kind have been called demons by the humans we meet.," the girl answered. Poco shook his head, "You seem more like an angel. You protect." "Speaking of protect, we need to get you somewhere safe. I can feel Tarukus coming.," (y/n) said and looked to the adults who had the same idea. Jonathan opened the door and was snared by a trap. He was pulled in by the trap and the door shut quickly behind him, locking the others out.

Zeppeli pounded the door with his fists until he ruined them, Speedwagon had to pull him away. (Y/n) kicked the door and dented it a little. The only thing between her brother and her was this door. She heard a patter and saw Poco entering a window. The girl looked back to the older men telling the boy to stay put of this before she followed. She was going to back Poco up. As soon as they exited the crawlspace, Tarukus attacked them. The girl jumped in front of the boy and took the brunt of the hit for him, she knocked the boy to the lever that opened the door as she was knocked into the wall. She heard a crackle from her back and fell forward onto her face. She was lucky her horns were not damaged from that. Poco was able to open the door and let the two in. The boy was hurt from the impact and lay unconscious in the arms of Speedwagon as the little girl forced herself to stand. Her energy was draining. She needed to eat soon. Her red eyes looked up to see Baron Zeppeli fighting Tarukus. The warrior thrashed wildly and dodged the hamon filled attacks the Baron was making. Zeppeli was trapped in the chains that linked Tarukus and Jonathan.
(Y/n) struggled to try and get over there, her body sore but healing. The sound of crunching came to her ears. The chains were digging into Zeppeli. The ruthless warrior was not letting him get any air to fuel his hamon with. Tighter and tighter until... Zeppeli's body gave out and he was torn in two. His once red suit becoming crimson with blood. "Will!," (y/n) cried the name of the man who would no longer be able to make his stupid laugh or annoying sayings. He was gone. Tarukus believed he killed both of them. The girl could still feel the heartbeats of the two. Zeppeli's was getting weaker. The revenant warrior was surprised to see that Zeppeli was still barely alive. The Italian grabbed the hand of the British young man and let all of his extra hamon energy flow into his successor.

(Y/n) saw him age before her eyes. He gave Jonathan everything and now his true age was showing. The girl felt her eyes burn like they did when her adopted father George died. Even though she only knew him for a short period of time and they did not really like each other, she had grown fond of him. The girl was crying for this hamon warrior. She felt something, something inside Jonathan. Jonathan pulled Tarukus off of the ground before tearing the collar off of himself. Tarukus could not do that, even with the strength of an undead warrior. Jonathan's body was absolutely overflowing with hamon. He was able to easily cut through Tarukus and kill him with the energy he had. There was nothing left of the warrior. The plum haired girl staggered over to Zeppeli's dying body and held the man's head up. Jonathan and the others were gathered around as they all mourned the man who was disappearing. "Baron Zeppeli, what would we do without you?," Jonathan asked and the baron got angered. "Have you gone mad? You are going to defeat Dio. Destroy the mask. I am satisfied with my fate. When I was young, I was married and had a family, but I abandoned them to hunt down (y/n) and the mask. Even so, I am satisfied. Jojo, you are like a son and a best friend to me."
Zeppeli gripped Jonathan's hand before letting it fall. He was gone. "Jonathan. He may be gone from his body, but his spirit lives on in you.," (y/n) said as she carried the man out, "Let us put him to rest before we continue." Jonathan noticed how she looked. He knew that she was hungry again, but she was controlling herself instead of eating Will, even though his body was there. He saw that she was different than Dio. They may be similar in terms of strength, durability and lifespan, but she had integrity and humanity.

They continued to the town. Dio did say he was going to let loose zombies made from the townsfolk. The girl walked with her brother, Speedwagon and Poco. She looked up to see a man walking towards them. Her horn felt no heartbeat. The three with her seemed to relax after seeing him, but she did not. The girl charged forward and attacked, making Jonathan start to scold her before he saw her rip the disguise off of the zombie. Her arm melted into the flesh o the zombie and the girl began to drain him. Such a small girl with such terrifying power. "He had no heartbeat.," the girl explained, "He smelled dead as well. And I smelled a little of Dio's scent on him."
"It looks like it is too late.," Said the voice of a man as (y/n) hissed into the darkness at the newcomer. Jonathan looked behind him to see someone coming up. "The outskirts are filled with zombies.," the person said. "(Y/n), tell me what he is.," Jonathan said as the man got closer. "Human, I sense he is a hamon user as well.," the girl replied as the man attacked. Jonathan was ready and blocked the attack before the man unleashed another attack. Jonathan headbutted the man and made him drop to the ground. The blueish haired man was ready for this new adversary to attack again when the man put his hand up, "Jonathan Joestar, please. I just wanted to see how well Will Zeppeli trained you."

The child bristled as she listened to this warrior, she bristled even more at the second one. They introduced themselves as Dire and Straizo. Both hamon warriors that Will A. Zeppeli had asked for assistance from. The black haired one, Straizo looked down at the plum haired girl hiding behind Speedwagon's leg. Her red eyes glared at both of the hamon warriors. She looked beyond them as an old man came up, their master, Tonpetty.
The girl hid as she felt the hamon of these men, this scared her. Made her remember the raid on one of the temples she was hiding in with her warriors. She hid behind Speedwagon as the humans greeted each other. They all explained what was happening and what had happened. The master, Tonpetty, noticed the small white dress behind Speedwagon, "I see another one with you. And who may you be?" (Y/n) peeked out and the man's face told her that he recognized her, probably from what Will had told him before. "Ah, you are the ancient child with the link to the vile mask.," the man spoke, "Your eyes hold no evil, though."
"I was only given the mask to hold while I slept until my family and warriors came to wake me.," the girl replied, "I'm sorry it has caused so much grief." "This was not your fault, child.," Tonpetty said, "It was Dio's wickedness. His greed and evil nature caused him to use the mask." (Y/n) nodded, "I am nothing like him. I am not the monster that you hamon warriors think. So why, why did you hamon warriors hunt me and my family almost two thousand years ago?!" "Fear is the only reason I can think of.," the master said, "They feared what you might become. And they feared the power of your warriors." The answer was simple and honest. "I see that you are not the monster they feared, so I decide that you are safe from us, little one. You will no longer be hunted as you have proven that you are a friend to humanity.," the old man said and put his pipe into his mouth, "But now, we have to finish Dio and his wicked heart."
