chapter one hundred and ten: Crime

2011, November.
America, Florida.

Cold shock and horror filled the body and heart of the small child as she heard the news from the police officer at the door. Jolyne had been arrested and was going to be tried for her crimes. The crime was vehicular homicide. (Y/n) hid from sight as she shook with cold fear and unholy burning rage. She knew this had to be a mistake, Jolyne could not kill anyone like that. The pillar girl knew that the nineteen year old was innocent, that this had to be a set up. She listened as the door closed and Jolyne's mother wail in dispair. The plum haired child walked to the woman and set her small hands on the woman's larger ones. The woman looked at her with hopeless and sorrowful eyes. She had so many questions for the tiny ancient being before her, yet none of them would come from her lips.
She did not need to speak. (Y/n) already knew what the questions were.
"I'm sorry. I should have watched her more closely.," the child apologized, "But, I'll follow her to wherever she goes and protect her. Like I promised to."
"How are you going to protect her? And who did you promise to?," Jolyne's mother asked with tears in her eyes.
"Jotaro and Jonathan.," (y/n) replied, "I promised them. A long time ago."
The child wordlessly went to the room she stayed in and packed her bags, she would set off to find Jolyne as soon as she had an approximate location.

'Jotaro, I know you distanced yourself from them to protect them, but...,' the child thought, 'Your daughter is suffering from it.'
The plum violet haired pillar girl listened to Jolyne's mother as she spoke to a lawyer on the phone. She was able to get a little more information from listening to the conversation. Jolyne was being held in a holding cell and was awaiting trial. All she had to do was to find the place. (Y/n) huffed in annoyance, if she was not so restrained by rules, she would break Jolyne out herself and find a way to prove that her ward was innocent. She just needed to find Jolyne. She needed to make sure that Jolyne was okay. The pillar child shivered in rage, she froze in place in order to restrain her stand inside of her.
Her red eyes were closed tight and her hands were clasped together, focusing on keeping her enraged father's soul inside.
"I'm mad as well, daddy.," she hissed as the boiling hate for humanity rose in her body.
Her father's burning hatred for humans left her stomach and bones cold. She sighed and took a step towards the door. The woman she was staying with looked to the child, she was still on the phone. Her eyes met with ruby ones that seemed to shine with a light that had been alive for thousands of years. (Y/n) broke her gaze away from he woman and left after gaining more information from the man on the phone. She walked down the sidewalk with all of her things packed.

She ran through all of the possibilities for helping Jolyne, many she could not accomplish because of limitations of law and possible allies being busy. Perhaps she should not have left Esidisi and Wamuu back in Itlay. Her small sandal clad feet tapped on the sidewalk as she walked. The sun was setting, the warmth that came with it was disappearing into the cold and dark night. The little girl walked past people who were going home or going to work on night shifts. Her cloak covered her small body as she walked. The pillar child looked to the sky. She felt saddened by the lack of stars in the sky, light pollution in the area was too great, she was not able to see the stars she loved. The stars that she and her family had looked at together. Her small body picked up speed as she broke into a run then lifted into the sky with her stand wings.
The metallic wings shone in the light as she glided through the cold night. (Y/n)'s mind thought of all the good times she had with the Joestars. She bit back tears as she glided. She set down and lifted off again into the night. The humans below her did not see her glide silently above. Her horns sensed out for Jolyne. Almost for three hours, she glided around to find Jolyne. (Y/n) was beginning to feel hungry again. She needed to feed. But her priority was Jolyne.

"You need to eat, my treasure.," Avalon spoke to his stand user/daughter.
The little child did not need to be told. Her growling stomach was all she needed.
"You could eat some of those prisoners.," the voice of her father continued.
"Daddy, I'm not going to eat anyone. I'm trying to blend into the human populous.," the child replied. She set down at a familiar street, the one with the church that had the strange priest. Her stomach growled again and she sighed, knowing she would have to eat something. Perhaps she will be forced to eat humans again, as much as she hated to. Her small hands shook in the cold night air as she let her horns sense the life around her. Humans in their homes were asleep. Small animals scurried in the darkness. The occasional meow of a cat reached the tiny pillar's ears. The breeze blew in the scent of what was around her. The street lights and moonlight reflected off of the tiny girl's fair skin.
Her small sandal clad feet tapped on the pavement. The skull in her hands gave her a sense of comfort and companionship besides the stand who was with her.
"What do you think, Johnathan?," the tiny pillar spoke to the skull, "Should I eat a gator or a criminal?"
"He's not going to respond.," Avalon spoke to his daughter.
Her red eyes looked up to where he appeared, the blank expression told him that she was not amused by his attempt of a joke. He tapped the top of her head gently with his wing. His metallic face was gentle as he looked at the girl below him.

Her cheeks puffed up into a pout. She kept walking. (Y/n)'s long plum hair  waved behind her as she walked. The shining stand above her glided gently, keeping a protective position over her. His red jewel like eyes kept a sharp watch. They came across a familiar house. The one that (y/n) had a strange feeling about before when she came to Florida. Her ruby red eyes looked at the house. She felt the original owner in there. However, there was a man trying to break in.
"Looks like you found your meal.," Avalon commented.
(Y/n) knew that the person in that house was more than likely going to get killed by this robber. Her feet moved by themselves as she acted on her instincts of hunger and protection. The man was already in the house as she jumped through the open window and onto his back. The man was startled by the sudden attack and began to thrash and scream, knocking into cabinets and walls, attempting to knock whatever was on his back off. The tiny girl's claws dug deeper into his skin. His clothes tore under the sharp nails and strong grip.
She knew that the owner of the house had to be up by now from all of the noise. The tiny girl knew she had little time to act. (Y/n) dug her hands into the man's skin and began to drain him of his fluids. The girl acted as quickly as possible to kill this person. She fell onto the floor when he collapsed. She then dragged his body out of the open window and into the garden, leaving a mess inside the house. Footsteps could be heard from the bedroom as the owner of the house came to see what was happening.
"I'm sorry about the mess.," she spoke softly as an apology.
She dragged the body to an enclosed space in someone else's yard. It felt warm in there and there were various plants. Even flowers that would not bloom in autumn. The tiny pillar child let out a breath and began to drain the rest of the man's body. She did not feel as hungry anymore. The wounds that she received over the time she did not eat healed.

After eating what she could, she rolled the skin of the deceased man up and buried it in the dirt. She made sure to dig a deep hole with her tiny claws. Her hunger was satisfied. All she needed to do now was to find where Jolyne was. The man on the phone told Jolyne's mother where it was. The guards probably would not let (y/n) in to see Jolyne. So she would have to sneak in. The child took the time to look around in the little building she was hiding in. It was an enclosed garden.
"Woah. Look at all of the flowers, Jojo.," the child's soft voice spoke as she held her beloved skull up.
Her hands shook at the beauty of the garden under the moonlight. It looked like the flowers themselves were glowing as they reflected the soft light of the moon off of their petals. The soft and sweet scent of the flowers made her feel better. Feel gentle. She sat in the grass and took in the sight of the beautiful flowers, forgetting what she wanted to do before and what she had just done. Instead, her focus was entirely on the flowers. The drops of dew on the petals fell softly, creating mesmerizing glittering displays of beauty.
Avalon's clattering wings broke her from her staring. The scent of a human caught her nose. She hid in the bushes, hoping her vibrant hair and jewels would not stand out amongst the colorful flowers around her.

She called her stand back in order to hide even better. Her ruby eyes watched the human walk into the enclosed space. A man. His face was obscured by darkness.
"I was sure that something was dragged into here.," the man spoke.
His voice was familiar. (Y/n) backed further into the bushes and clutched her brother's skull. Where did she hear this voice before? The plum haired pillar child slowed her breath to hopefully not be found as quickly.
"Is someone here?," the man asked.
The little horned girl's red eyes stared at the figure that walked through the garden. This human was familiar. She finally got a good look at his face after he turned on a flashlight and scanned it around the garden. It was that priest again. He was no longer in his priest attire, but in house clothes. A simple shirt and pants. The dark skinned man shown the light around, panicking the small pillar. If that light hit her, it was either her eyes, horns or jewelry that was going to give away her hiding place. In her panic, Avalon manifested near the man and knocked the flashlight out of his hand.
This startled the priest as he looked for what did that, only to find that whatever it was had vanished. The man began to breathe hard before he took a deep breath and began to speak softly to himself.
"1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 11...," he whispered and reached down to pick up the fallen flashlight.
The light was sliced in half quickly, causing the whole building to go dark again. Pucci stood and his eyes scanned the greenhouse. His breathing was shaky before he composed himself.

"Whoever is there, I heard your fight in my home.," Pucci said, "I am guessing you fought and scared off an intruder that meant me harm?"
The man's eyes looked to the dirt and he knelt down again, touching the dirt and grass with his large hands before turning right to where (y/n) was hiding.
"I know you are there now, little one.," the priest spoke, "You don't have to hide from me. Come out, (y/n)."
The tiny pillar shook a bit and raised her head above the bushes she was hiding in, flowers from the bush stuck in her hair as the hanging flowers from the trees above draped onto her locks. Pucci did not look at her with fear, even with her horns. His face showed a sort of kindness. He looked down at the skull she was holding.
"You still have your brother with you.," he smiled slightly, "It's very late. Young ones like you need rest, and so do I."
He reached his hand out to the child. She was hesitant to take his hand. She stared at it. She had to find Jolyne. The man carefully reached out and took one of the tiny hands, feeling the soft skin. He pulled her from the bush and brushed the leaves and petals from her hair, being careful of the horns.
"You can tell me what you were doing in the morning, right now, it's time to get to bed.," the man spoke and picked up the small horned girl, "I have a spare room that you can use."
