Chapter Forty five: To fight a Void
Word came back that Hol Horse and another stand user failed in their task to eliminate the group that was inching closer and closer to the mansion where DIO hid. That meant that there was nobody but the ones in the mansion left to fight them. (Y/n) knew that he final confrontation was coming upon them. She was wandering the mansion yet again after being forced to drink another bit of blood by DIO, he said it was to make sure she was at full strength. The girl found that there were some extra clothes in the mansion that were her exact size, style preference and fabric preference. It was as if he had been expecting her. Odd.
The little girl was watched the streets when she saw a small familiar face. Iggy! The little Boston terrier was wandering in the streets below the mansion! The dog must have caught her scent because he looked up to the little girl. However, Iggy was not the only one there. Petshop was on duty again. The falcon had spotted the dog. The little girl knew that her adopted father and the others were nearby. Iggy would not have gone far from the rest of the group.
She had to inform D'Arby about the guests that would be arriving soon. The little girl hopped down from the little table she was sitting on and ran around to find the greenish haired man to tell him what she saw. She heard the screech of Petshop going after a prey item. (Y/n) used her sense of smell to look for D'Arby. She found him retrieving a bottle of wine for DIO. "Ah, lady (y/n). Is something the matter?," the man asked. "I saw Iggy. Jotaro and the others should be here soon.," the little pillar spoke and she saw D'Arby's face change a little. "Thank you for telling me.," the man said and walked out of the wine cellar with the child following him, "I shall prepare to greet them, as a butler should. I will also inform the others of their approach."
The green haired man shooed the child away and told her to go play somewhere. The girl pouted but ran off to play in the great room. She sat on one of the soft carpets and played with her porcelain doll. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw the woman again. The woman was appearing more frequently. It had to be around that time again...
The young half pillar played with her doll more and saw the room around her change. That one guy that she avoided must have used his illusion stand to make this. He had to be nearby. She felt his stand envelop the mansion. What was this guy's name again? Not that it mattered, he was stupidly weak. The plum haired child sighed as she felt a hand rub her head, she did not feel anyone near her. The ghost again... The child waved her tiny hands trying to shoo the spirit away but got a glimpse of the woman giggling.
(Y/n) pouted and kept playing with her doll in the great room. She saw D'Arby pass by, presumably to meet the ones who had just gotten to the door. The girl got up to follow and stayed in the darkness to listen to them. She heard D'Arby introduce himself to the guests and tell them that he knew they defeated his elder brother. The plum haired girl peered out from the darkness and saw that D'Arby moved aside to welcome the group into the mansion. She quickly moved deeper into the darkness when she sensed Polnareff look towards her.
She listened to D'Arby speak about he and his brother's differences before telling them, "Please enter if you wish to fight me and Find (y/n)." This made the group even more on edge. Jotaro stepped up to fight D'Arby.
The tiny pillar knew it would be better to go back into the mansion to wait. She sat back in the spot she was playing in before. Her doll set snugly in her small and fair arms. It was afternoon. In a few hours, the sub would start to set. Then DIO would be free to move about as he pleases. She used her horns to sense around her. She sensed Vanilla Ice wandering about in his horrifying stand. She saw it once and it scared her. She could feel the air be dispersed by the movement he was doing. 'How much does it cost to repair that he destroys?,' the the girl thought to herself as she felt him moving about and saw him peek out of the void to look around. "Hey, how much do you destroy with your stand?," the girl asked and the man looked to her. "Go stay with Master DIO.," the man said before disappearing again with his stand.
The girl got up when she heard the voices of Polnareff and Avdol. She was going to walk a flight of stairs when she heard Polnareff speak, "(y/n)!" The little girl's eyes looked to the place she heard his voice. She saw him, Avdol and Iggy looking at her in surprise and a little fear. The child hopped up the steps quickly as Polnareff gave chase. "Please, come back! We were so worried!," She heard Polnareff call after her before she heard Avdol tell him to be careful and that there may be stand users nearby. He was not wrong.
Iggy found the stand user that was creating the illusion and sliced him up with his stand, the fool.
The illusion broke and the three saw (y/n) again, hugging the doll she had in her hands. Polnareff was very relieved in expression. "(Y/n), thank goodness you are safe.," the silver haired Frenchman sighed and kneeled by the girl, "You're not injured are you? He didn't hurt you?" The plum haired girl held up her doll for him to see. "Oh, your doll?," Polnareff asked and looked, "She is fixed, and changed a little. She looks good."
"Polnareff, we should continue on, DIO is here.," Avdol said, "(y/n), do you know where DIO is?" The child nodded, "The tower, that's his room, he does not allow anyone in without permission."
"Then let's go.," Polnareff said, "Do you think you can find Jotaro and the others as well?" "If they are with Terence, they are probably in the game room in the basement.," the little girl said, "Dio is in his room at the moment and there are servants wandering around the mansion." The men stood from their crouching and walked away, going further into the mansion. (Y/n) felt Vanilla Ice nearby, he was barreling towards Avdol and the others! The little girl jumped up and gave the Egyptian a hard kick to knock him out of the path of the terrible stand, the momentum launched her up in the air and out of the way. He was not caught by the entire stand, only his arms were destroyed. Thankfully, him flying back also knocked Polnareff and Iggy out of the way as well. The girl landed lightly on the ground. She knew that Avdol would possibly have had the wind knocked out of him.
Polnareff held the body of the Bleeding out Avdol as Vanilla Ice and his stand, Cream, came out of hiding in their little black hole of a dimension. Polnareff looked horrified at the stand appearing before him. "It appears that I have missed my targets.," Came Vanilla Ice's voice from the mouth of his stand before it turned to the little girl, "Or they were pushed out of the way." The looming stand and its power made the pillar girl take a step back. Polnareff knew that this meant that she saw the monster before her. "Return to Lord DIO, I have to dispose of this filth who dare think they can face him.," Vanilla Ice spoke as he turned to the three he was set to kill, "Your thinking that you can fight Lord DIO is arrogant. One by one, I will scatter you three into the dark dimension that my stand connects to."
The girl did not move from her spot, she saw that Avdol was getting pale. He did not have a lot of time. Vanilla Ice peered from the mouth of his terrifying stand, Cream. Polnareff was enraged at this man who had attacked his friend and called upon his own stand to attack. This was the first time (y/n) saw Silver Chariot, it was amazing, it looked like what she would picture a knight to look like. Silver Chariot was able to puncture Cream a few times before the stand disappeared as Polnareff held the bleeding body of Avdol. Avdol was barely hanging on. (Y/n) sensed where Vanilla Ice was before quickly hopping over to Avdol to try and do an emergency fix on him. She was able to stop the bleeding and forced the wounds shut. "He needs a hospital, but Vanilla Ice won't let up until you are dead.," the girl said, "If only there was some way to get him out safely." She felt Ice come back around in his stand and pulled Polnareff's head down to make him avoid the sphere of death that was flying towards him.
"Polpol! Listen! Cream is a destructive stand and Ice is a fanatic for Dio! You will have to kill him!," the little girl said while gripping his silver hair, "You can't help Avdol right now, so you will have to survive on your own for he time being." Avdol had passed out from bloodloss. The girl felt the energy of the stand getting closer, grabbed the unconscious Egyptian and jumped out of the way. Polnareff and Iggy ran further into the mansion while the girl dragged the Egyptian out of the mansion and set him out in the garden. "I need to get you to a hospital, but I need to help Pol Pol and Iggy.," the little girl said and ran back inside after she made sure he was okay. The plum haired pillar felt Vanilla's energy running around the entire mansion, chasing Polnareff and Iggy. She saw that there was a hole in the ceiling and hopped up into the second floor through the hole.
She saw that Polnareff was attacking wildly with Silver Chariot, the stand was coming right at her. She instinctively held her arms up to protect herself as Silver Chariot's rapier was stabbed towards her. She heard metal clash against metal and she was pushed back into the wall. She heard more destruction before lowering her hands. Polnareff and Iggy disappeared. Her arms seemed to have some sort of blades on them. Did she develop the blades her father did without the mask's influence? Was it part of her father's modified genes that she inherited? (Y/n) looked around for any sign of Iggy and Polnareff. Her eyes could not find any sign. She did see the head of Cream come into view before Vanilla Ice peeked his head out to look around. "They seemed to have disappeared during that frenzy.," the brunet said before he looked down to the girl, "I told you to return to Lord DIO." "I was taking care of Avdol.," the girl said in return as she head the cut she did get from Chariot's blade.
He was about to say something else before the voice of DIO came ringing out from the stairs, "Vanilla Ice, What is all this noise?" "D-Dio!," the little girl squeaked as she saw her older brother descending. Ice was quick to jump in front of DIO to defend him, "Lord DIO, please be careful! Polnareff and that dog are hiding nearby, Please take (y/n) and leave this to me." (Y/n) stepped forward before she saw some sand falling off of her brother's hand. That was not her brother, it was an illusion made by The Fool! Vanilla Ice kept watch before he suddenly struck the fake that was about to strike him.
"Sunlight is streaming through the windows. The real lord DIO would never leave his room to enter this place!," Vanilla Ice said in an angered voice. 'That's right. He'd stay in the shadows and go to the library or one of the spare rooms.,' the little girl thought to herself, 'I can't stop Ice when he uses his stand. I have to get out of here.' The enraged Stand user curled into his stand and attacked again, Polnareff and Iggy jumped out of the way. The dog scampered away on his three legs, he must have lost a paw to Petshop.
Vanilla Ice went after Iggy, he absolutely infuriated at having to destroy an image of DIO. The young pillar knew that he was fanatical about DIO, but not to this extent. She flinched as she saw the brunet stand user punch the dog. Iggy's small doggie body flew back and hit the wall hard. (Y/n) felt sick as she was forced to watch the merciless beating that Vanilla ice was doing to the dog. This was something not even her father would do, even if the dog was his enemy's. She wanted him to stop. He had to stop. He was going to kill Iggy. She heard Polnareff telling Vanilla Ice to stop. She also sensed something from Vanilla Ice, he was transforming very slowly into a vampire. The girl could kill him and eat him a little to regain strength or increase her mass for later use. Polnareff sent Chariot after the man as the little girl pounced towards him, claws out and teeth bared. Vanilla Ice was able to evade both of the attacks and disappeared into his void.
(Y/n) picked up Iggy and examined him quickly, bleeding out and several broken ribs, a deflated lung. He had to be in immense pain. She looked around and started to absorb his blood to filter as she reached her hand inside the dog, easing his pain and mending his bones and lung as roughly as she could. It would be a fight to keep him alive as she was not good at this like her father and uncles were. She was able to filter the blood out and give it back to the beaten dog. Iggy did not struggle or bite, he was breathing better after she fixed his lung and blew air into his mouth to reinflate it. He was still in pain no doubt. She sacrificed some of her blood to try and help him.
Polnareff was in horror but, his resolve was strong. He had an idea from the sand trick and kicked up a lot of dust, "The Fool's sand gave me an Idea. I know you can probably tell where he is by air movements, (y/n), but I need to know how to avoid him when he comes." The sand in the air showed the path that the enemy stand user was taking, the Silver haired Frenchman stabbed Ice's head when he peeked out of his stand. Stabbed right through the mouth. Straight to the brain stem. Vanilla Ice was not a man that was easily defeated as he was turning vampire. The brunet grabbed silver Chariot and crushed the throat, harming Polnareff in the process. Polnareff yelled at Vanilla Ice to Die already. But he did not. He grabbed the Frenchman's left hand and pulled it to the gaping maw of the dreaded stand he was hiding in. The fingers of both Silver Chariot and Polnareff vaporized.
"I will not die. Whatever it takes to kill you for lord DIO, I'll kill Joseph and the others! Then I will die!," the fanatical follower of DIO hissed. Silver Chariot pulled his rapier back and reached out to stab again. The sword and arm was caught before Ice began to attempt to break the limb brutally by slamming his hand onto it. Polnareff's stand kicked Cream and Vanilla Ice away, causing the man and his terrible stand to escape once more. Polnareff tried to cut Vanilla Ice, but he missed. Ice was able to destroy a part of Polnareff's left thigh, essentially maiming him. (Y/n) held Iggy carefully. She had put her doll into her largest bag for safekeeping.
"(Y/n)! Come here!," Polnareff called her over after he failed to stab Ice and lost the tip of his rapier. The girl did, just in time to avoid getting hit by the ball of destruction that was barreling in a circular path around the room. The plum haired child had to admit that she was terrified, she never thought about how scary stands were before. How could she be able to protect herself from such things without one of her own? Her heart was beating with a fear she had not known in over two thousand years. The last time she was this scared was when a hamon tribe stormed the place she and her family were using to stay safe.
Her arms held the dog carefully as she reached out one of her arms to Polnareff, Chariot pulled her to him quickly to keep her from being hit as Ice came back around. The Frenchman took both the girl and the dog and rolled out of the way. They only had five laps before Vanilla Ice was on them. "(Y/n), take Iggy and run.," the man said as the destructive ball passed by them once. "I can't leave you!," the girl said as the orb got closer with another pass. She had to protect her friends, but how? Iggy was almost passed out and Polnareff was maimed. How was she going to pull something off?
She felt Iggy's stand energy as the ball was coming around again, the dog was right. They could not give up. She got under Polnareff's arm and supported his weight on her with her surprising strength. She gave him Iggy to hold and waited. Another pass. 'I have to try and save them, they are my friends, my family.,' (y/n) thought to herself as she used her strength to lift off of the ground and over the terrifying stand's powerful destruction. She found that they were in the air for an extended period of time, like they were being held up. The girl felt paws on her, Iggy was using his stand to assist her! But she felt another power with her.
Vanilla Ice emerged from the center of the room. He was absolutely enraged, "The reason I am bleeding is because of that damned mutt and Avdol, I'll kill Joestar and the others for Lord DIO." (Y/N) had about enough this. She saw blood drip from Polnareff's leg and down near Ice. The brunet looked up and saw the three in the air, his eyes somewhat shocked by what he saw. Iggy passed out from using his stand in the Frenchman's arms, they started to glide down as the sand fell around them. "Iggy, he may think that you don't have a soul, but I do. You're stubborn and proud, and I have grown to like that about you.," Polnareff said to the dog in his arm as he called out his stand to attack Vanilla Ice.
He was able to stab Ice in the head and snap his neck, making him fall backward as the Frenchman and the girl alighted on the floor. "It's not over yet.," the plum haired pillar said, "I fear he is no longer human." She was right as the newly formed vampire rose to attack the Frenchman. "Leave this to me, Pol pol. Vampires are my favorite food.," she said as she raised her hand to the vampire pouncing to kill the silver haired man with her. A single swipe of her hand was what it took to take his jaw off, only she saw that she cut through his body completely. The blades on her arm had returned. The vampire was still twitching on the ground before she stuck her hand into him to drain him. She stopped once he was dead.
"Pol pol. Are you okay?," the girl asked and looked to the man behind her. Polnareff was looking at her arm, "(y/n). You... You have...," the man said. "I developed arm blades similar to my father's, yes.," the girl spoke with a small smile. Polnareff shook his head, "You have a stand! You somehow developed a stand!" He looked to the dog in his arms. Iggy was softly breathing, he needed treatment. "We have to keep moving.," the Silver haired man said as he looked up the stairs, "It won't be long before sundown, then DIO would be able to come out of hiding."
(Y/n) looked at the dog, "But we cannot take Iggy with us. He's injured. You're injured too." Polnareff set Iggy down, "We'll have to leave him somewhere safe as we head on." The girl looked to the stairs to the first floor and saw a familiar face, the ghost woman. "We can leave him here, Polnareff. I have a feeling he will be okay.", the young pillar said as she wrapped her cloak around the dog then looked to the stairs, "Look after him please?" Polnareff looked to the stairs and must have saw the woman as well, he made a small sound. The plum haired pillar helped him up and to continue up the stairs where he stopped and ripped up some good curtains to patch up his wounds.
