Chapter Fifty-nine: Red Hot Chili Hoe
(Y/n) was drying her fluffy plum colored hair with a towel after she took a bath. She had already changed into a new little dress. The small pillar put the towel up to dry when she was done. She heard Tomoko scolding Josuke. Josuke must have been playing video games instead of studying again. The little girl walked put of the bathroom and followed Tomoko's voice. The woman was kicking Josuke lightly with her foot. The plum haired pillar watched from the doorway.
Tomoko's kicks got to be too much for her son. He lost the game he was playing. "Good. Now put that away and start doing your homework. And take off your uniform.," The woman ordered her son and walked out of the room. She passed the little girl, "Make sure he does his homework." "Okay!," the little pillar child chirped.
She walked up behind Josuke and unplugged the gaming system while he turned of the television. The little girl was putting the gaming system away when the television turned back on. On a TV drama of all things. The child gagged, "Eww. Bad taste." She saw Josuke try to turn the television off. "Jotaro is not leaving although I warned him. Why is that, Josuke?," a voice called from the television. The sight and voice of the stand made the teen mad. The stand that killed Okuyasu's brother, Red Hot Chili Pepper! The electricity covered stand emerged from the television, Josuke glared at the villainous stand. "Why the hell are you here?," the teen growled to the stand.
"You only ask that now? I've been stopping by to keep an eye on you and all of your friends. I'm aware of Koichi's echoes, Yukako's stand and that you put Kobayashi and Hazamada in the Hospital.," the stand revealed. (Y/n) wandered a little closer to Josuke and grabbed his pants leg. "I'm asking why you are here in front of me now after you had admitted to sneaking around like a gutless coward all this time.," the British-Japanese teen said with an angered tone, "But that is not all, is it? You're not dumb enough to try and kick my ass, are you?" "Kick your ass?," Chili pepper echoed, "Why would I do something that awful to you? I'm here to kill you painlessly."
Josuke scoffed, "What a Joke." He called out Crazy Diamond to defend himself and the tiny pillar clinging to his leg. Chili Pepper laughed, "I told this before to Jotaro, He is way too attentive. I can't attack him directly because of his Star Platinum. I also have to be cautious around the one holding onto your leg, Who knows what her unnamed stand is able to do." The stand pointed to the child. Josuke cut his Blue-Violet eyes down to his stepsister's red ones before looking back at the stand before him. "Star Platinum can stop time, I know that for a fact. I want to know how strong my stand has gotten over time, I think you'll be a good test, Josuke Higashikata.," the stand taunted with a smirk, "Please come closer. Closer until you can attack as quickly as Star Platinum!"
The mocking tone of the stand that the user was speaking through angered Josuke. "You are mocking me, aren't you?," Josuke questioned. "Of course not. I've just seen through your abilities. Come on, come closer and give me a good punch.," the stand continued to taunt, "Come on, right here. Right in the face. Come closer and hit me!" (Y/n) gripped Josuke's leg tighter as Crazy Diamond gave Chili pepper a sharp hit to the face. Followed by a barrage attack of punches, a trait that pretty much all the Joestar bloodline share.
The stand had gotten cocky. He severely underestimated Josuke. But he quickly regained his footing and struck Crazy Diamond with a few strong punches. Josuke fell back and into the table behind him, breaking it. (Y/n) was clinging to his leg the whole time. Tomoko yelled at Josuke from the other room, demanding to know what all the noise was. (Y/n) wanted to try her hand at killing this guy, Josuke stopped her. "You're strong. That felt like a jet hit me.," the teen muttered, "He might be stronger than Jotaro." "You too. I guess we both grew. I need to practice more before I can kill Jotaro!," the stand said and disappeared back into the electrical socket.
Josuke was tense as he rose from the floor with his stepsister in his arms. Crazy diamond was summoned to fix the mess before Tomoko came to see what everything was about. "Josuke!," the woman scolded, "I asked what the noise was!" "It was nothing much. We were playing a bit and she fell.," the teen answered his mother. (Y/n) was bruised a bit on her leg from the impact, Tomoko sighed after seeing the bruise. "Be more careful you two. And do your homework.," she said as he walked out of the room. Josuke gave the girl a squeeze. She gave him a squeeze back.
The phone rang and the teen answered, he spoke to the one on the other side, Jotaro. Afterwards, Josuke called Okuyasu and Koichi as he did his homework with (y/n)'s help. She sat on the leg of her stepbrother as he did his work. He talked to them and told them to meet him in the fields outside of town. The teen hung up the phone and sighed. His Blue-Violet eyes looked down to see red ones staring back at him with concern. "So much stress, (y/n). Homework, Chili pepper, the arrow and the stand users that keep appearing.," the teen sighed. The little girl kept staring up at him with her inhuman red eyes. She could sense how tense he was. She reached up and grabbed his cheeks. "Jojo. You can do this. Your father, your nephew, your great grandfather, they all have gotten through dangerous times. You have the strength and heart of a Joestar.," the little girl spoke and smiled, "It's okay that you feel tense right now, you will feel relief afterwards." She smiled enough for Josuke to see her sharp little teeth. She pulled on his cheeks until they turned pink, then she patted them. Tomoko called them to dinner. Iggy was in the kitchen with the woman, he was wagging and waiting for her to pour him some food. The little dog greedily ate as the other three are dinner and went to bed. Josuke laid awake in bed and stared at the ceiling as (y/n) was sprawled on his chest like she usually did. Iggy was at the foot of his bed.
His mind ran wild, but Josuke finally got to sleep.
The next day, he and (y/n) went out to the fields outside of Morioh. The fields that did not have electricity lines exposed so Chili Pepper would not spy on them. Okuyasu and Koichi were already there as Josuke, (y/n) and Iggy walked up. The pillar girl was sitting on one of Josuke's shoulder as Iggy was on the other. Koichi saw the three, his face lit up and he waved at them, "Josuke! (Y/n)! Iggy!" (Y/n) got Iggy and jumped off of Josuke to go see Koichi. She put Iggy down and let the dog stretch, his metal paw clicked as he moved. "So what did you call us out here for?," Okuyasu inquired, "This place is pretty lonely. Why not go to the usual cafe or to Tonio's?" "I'm not the one who organized this. It was Jotaro. He wanted all of us out here.," Josuke explained, "More than likely to talk about Chili Pepper." "Chili Pepper?! You don't mean Red Hot Chili Pepper, Do you?!," Koichi exclaimed.
They heard a branch break and looked to see an infuriated Okuyasu. He was in pain from his older brother being murdered in front of him. "So. He has appeared?," the teen growled. "Yeah, at my place last night.," Josuke replied. Okuyasu got mad and pointed the stick he broke off the tree to his friend, "BASTARD! Why did you not tell me?!"
"Because I told Josuke to keep quiet.," the voice of Jotaro cut the air and made the teens cease their squabble, "Talking about him in the city, where there is electricity running, is dangerous." Jotaro was walking up with Kakyoin and Caesar behind him. "Kakyoin! Caesar!," the little girl squealed and hugged the men's legs. Caesar picked up the little girl and gave her a squeeze. "Jotaro and I had the Idea of bringing you out to this field to keep him from hearing us talk. From what I know, Chili Pepper is a long ranged stand. He is using his stand to keep an eye on us, but keep a distance.," The red haired man explained. Okuyasu made an enraged face, Josuke noticed. "Okuyasu, Chili Pepper pisses me off as well. He got into my house without me or (y/n) noticing until it was too late! He's able to go anywhere and take anything he wants.," the British-Japanese teen said.
Caesar looked up to the girl on his shoulder, "So this town has not been as relaxing as I thought it was." "No. Stands are appearing all over town. I don't know if your hamon will help.," the child replied to her Italian friend, "This guy, this stand, Red Hot Chili Pepper is very different than vampires or pillar men. You can't see him, we can. But, you may be able to hit his user." "But first we need to find out who this guy is.," Josuke said to the two, "That is what is going to be the hard part."
"But how?," Koichi asked. Josuke turned to Jotaro and Kakyoin, "We came out here to figure that out right?" "Not quite.," Kakyoin chuckled, "We will find him." The teens were surprised by this news. "The person who is capable of divulging the identity of the user should be arriving at the Morioh Port at noon.," Jotaro explained. The teens were even more shocked by this news. Josuke spoke up, "Is he a stand user?" "That's right.," Jotaro replied, "His stand's name is Hermit Purple. However, he has gotten too old to fight, he does not have the strength to do so."
"Old? Just how old is this guy?," Josuke questioned the two men in front of him, "Do you two know him?" "We know him very well. As does Caesar, Iggy and (y/n).," Kakyoin answered with a smile as his violet eyes looked at the British-Japanese teen, "He used to be quite muscular and fit, but you would not be able to tell now." "He's 79 years old now.," Caesar said with a smile, "Same as me." "79?! That's really old! Uh, no offense.," Josuke said to the blond Italian. Caesar waved his hand, "It's fine. None taken."
"His legs are weak, so he is using a cane. He had a surgery to remove gallstones two years ago. You would have been useful then, (y/n).," Jotaro spoke and shot a look back to the girl. She bared her teeth at Jotaro. The ocean green eyed man gave her a sharp glare, "He suffers from cataracts. He wears full dentures and complains that he can no longer eat stakes. He's also starting to forget things, he's called me several times looking for her." "Jojo. Stop giving the medical history, we get it, he's an old man. A stupid one at that.," the little girl hissed.
"Don't tell me his hobby is talking to postal boxes.," Josuke groaned. "No. He's more childish. He likes comic books.," the pillar girl sighed, "You want us to protect him, right Jotaro?" Jotaro gave her a nod. She sighed, "If only he kept up his training. He would have aged slower and have been sharper." "He wanted to age with his wife.," Caesar reminded the child who pulled at the Italian's feather hair decorations. The blond Italian took her off of his shoulder, "Stop that."
"We need to protect him from Chili Pepper.," Jotaro spoke up, "If this stand finds out about him, Chili Pepper will try to kill him. This is priority, since Chili pepper fears us finding out who his user is the most." "I get it. But is this geezer really going to be able to help us?," Josuke inquired. Jotaro let out a sigh he had been holding as Kakyoin chuckled. The man spoke, "I tried to stop him, but when he found out about the bow and arrow, he came to Japan on his own." "Came to Japan? Is he a foreigner?," the short silver haired Koichi asked. He was given a nod before he turned to Josuke, "Josuke, this is serious! He's 79, a foreigner and a stand user!"
Josuke was not getting the clues. The pompador teen was confused, "Huh?" "It's our papa, hair for brains.," (y/n) snapped. Okuyasu's motorbike revved up on its own, grabbing the attention of everyone. On the seat was Red Hot Chili Pepper. The stand had a malicious smile on his face, "I heard you loud and clear!" "How the hell are you out here?! There are no electrical lines out here.," Koichi exclaimed. "The bike's battery!," Jotaro realized, "He must have hidden in the battery!" Kakyoin got between the stand and Caesar, "This is dangerous for you sir. You should probably go somewhere safer."
"At noon a geezer will arrive to find my user! I'll be sure to get there first and kill him as soon as he arrives!," the stand announced and drove off as everyone realized the severity of the situation. He was going to try and kill Joseph Joestar, Josuke's father! The teens began to pursue, Okuyasu used his stand to get to the enemy stand the fastest by scraping away space to basically teleport himself. He destroyed the bike, cutting Chili Pepper off from escaping for a while.
Chili pepper was Vunerable. Iggy growled at the stand and sand swirled around him as he began to summon The Fool. "Iggy! Don't get to careless.," Jotaro ordered the dog as the beast stand was summoned forth from the earth. It was a solid stand that Caesar could see for himself. Koichi was relieved that they trapped Red Hot Chili Peppers. Jotaro had to remind him that he was not caught yet, the bike battery was still intact, "I'm sure he plans to kill Okuyasu any way he can and run."
Caesar put the little girl down as the others ran to assist Okuyasu. The girl jumped up onto Caesar again and used him as a springboard to jump off of and launch herself like she did before. She let her stand's wings come out to have her glide towards Okuyasu and Chili Pepper. Okuyasu was beating the hell out of the stand who killed his brother. The stand itself lost its glittering electric yellow hue and turned a rusty color. The little girl saw that he had blood leaking from his rusty hide.
Josuke and the others ran towards Okuyasu as his anger got the better of him and he began using his stand, The Hand, to scrape away at Red Hot Chili Pepper. But as he did, he scraped away the earth below the stand. Below the ground was electrical wires! Chili Pepper was no doubt baiting Okuyasu to make him dig up the cables!
With this, Chili pepper was able to revitalize himself. The shining stand attacked and cut off Okuyasu's arm before he pulled Okuyasu into the cables with him. This made Koichi start to cry in the belief that Okuyasu had died. (Y/n) looked up to Josuke as he, Kakyoin and Jotaro were discussing the power of Chili Pepper. Koichi was crying before Josuke used Crazy Diamond on Okuyasu's severed arm, "Koichi, If I use Crazy Diamond to fix him. He'll come back." With Josuke's power, Okuyasu was pulled back to his friends. Koichi was relieved with this revelation.
Okuyasu, however, was cursing his own stupidity. Koichi knelt to talk to Okuyasu. The tiny plum haired pillar was picked up by Jotaro before he and Josuke walked away, followed by Kakyoin and Iggy. Caesar Stayed with Okuyasu and Koichi.
Jotaro and the others walked to the port while he was carrying (y/n) under his arm. "We did not mention this before but, Santana is also on that boat.," Jotaro said and gained the child's attention, "We will need to split up. One group will stay here to guard the port while another goes to the boat." The small pillar sighed, "Can I be let down please?" Her nephew let her down and she gave him a kick to the shin, "That was for making me go back to America that time." Jotaro did not flinch when she kicked him. He had a good pain tolerance.
The girl walked to the end of the dock to look over the ocean. Kakyoin followed her to talk a little bit. "I'm staying here to help protect Joseph.," the red haired man said, "Caesar is going with you." "Alright.," (y/n) smiled back to Kakyoin, "Just be careful when fighting this guy, okay?" The violet eyed man gave her a nod. Jotaro was using Star Platinum to look over the water. Josuke went to the boat to check the battery for Red Hot Chili pepper. Okuyasu was also checking the boat. Caesar was standing next to Jotaro as Josuke gave the all clear to Jotaro.
"Caesar, (y/n), Okuyasu and I will go to the boat. The rest of you will stay behind to guard against the enemy.," the ocean green eyed man said. "Is Mr. Joseph Joestar the only passenger on the boat?," Koichi inquired. "No. There is one more. He, however, is very dangerous if precautions are not taken. That is why (y/n) is coming to the boat with us.," Jotaro explained, "The rest of the people on the boat are from the Speedwagon foundation." "So what do we need to do?," Josuke asked as Iggy sniffed around the harbor. "Keep guard and prevent Chili Pepper from getting over the water.," Jotaro answered, "I have a feeling he will not use a boat, but instead something with a battery that is faster than a motorboat. He is no doubt stealing a remote control model airplane as we speak. We don't have time to spare. Do everything you can do keep your father safe."
Caesar picked up the small pillar and climbed into the boat, "Jotaro, We should get going." Jotaro climbed into the boat and got behind the steering wheel, Okuyasu untied the boat from the dock and they sped off. Josuke, Kakyoin, Iggy and Koichi were left behind, watching the boat leave. (Y/n) looked back as her stepbrother got smaller and smaller as the distance between them increased. As it usually did for her and her stepbrothers, as history showed.
Long plum colored hair waved in the wind as they sped towards the boat. Caesar sat her down on his leg, "Careful. I know you can probably swim, but we don't want to have to slow down to retrieve you." (Y/n) stuck her tongue out at Caesar. They knew they could not let their guard down. This situation was dangerous for everyone involved. Her red eyes looked ahead, they were getting closer to the boat that her adopted father was on. The man who had defeated her family. The grandson of her beloved belated brother, Jonathan.
(Y/n) knew that Santana was on that boat. She hoped that the ones they left on the shore would do everything they could to end this threat. A bright light made everyone look back. Even Caesar. The glow of arching electricity on the harbor was making a glow as bright as the morning sun after a moonless night. Red Hot Chili Pepper was fighting the ones that were left in the harbor. Jotaro looked back to the water and kicked the engine up to a higher gear. They were able to make it to the Speedwagon foundation ship.
(Y/n) made her way through the boat, sniffing the air and following the scents. Okuyasu and Caesar were right behind her. "Hey, Caesar. Are pillar men really that dangerous?," the dull witted teen asked. Caesar looked back at the teen, "Not just dangerous, They have the potential to end all of humanity. Kars at least was." "Normal pillars and half pillars like me are dangerous. But modified pillars Like Daddy and Santana are even more so. We have to eat a lot to stay healthy, They have to eat even more so. Daddy wiped out a whole habitat with his hunger after he first modified himself.," the small pillar girl explained as she stopped in front of a room and sniffed the air, "They are in here. Both Santana and Jojo."
Caesar opened the door and the three were met with a dim cabin. There was a film over the windows that was blocking out UV light. A massive muscular man looked over to the door, his scarlet eyes reflected what little light was in the room. Okuyasu gulped, "Is he a..." "Full blooded pillar. Yes.," the blond Italian replied as the scarlet eyes of Santana left them and looked down to the little girl walking towards him.
Okuyasu saw Santana's horns peeking from his long vermillion hair. The teal marking under his eye seemed to contrast his greyish skin. The other side of the room had an old man sitting there, looking at the little girl who walked in. Joseph Joestar. "(Y/n)? Where have you been? Why have you not visited?," the old man asked then looked to the door, "Caesar? You've aged." "So have you, Jojo.," Caesar said and came in. The blond looked at the pillar man that the tiny girl was hugging the arm of, "It is nice to meet you, Santana. I heard a lot about you."
"You are Caesar. You fought Wamuu, my sparring partner.," Santana spoke, "You have not aged like a human should over the years." "I have not.," Caesar admitted, "It is Because of my hamon." "Hamon... Jojo has that power as well.," Santana said and looked to the old man, "It is hard to believe that he once defeated me and locked me in a light box for sixty years." Okuyasu was listening to the older beings talked, almost stunned with their stories.
Santana looked to the teen, "You. Human. Are you one of (y/n)'s humans?" Okuyasu looked to Santana and pointed at himself, Santana gave him a nod. "Yes, I am one of her friends.," The teen replied. The scarlet eyed pillar looked down to the little girl who climbed up onto his leg. She had a big smile on her small face. "Santana. I'm happy you are here. I am happy that all of you are here.," the little girl smiled, "But there are dangers in this town of Morioh. We need to be careful." Caesar sat next to Joseph as Okuyasu kept standing to keep watch.
The vermillion haired pillar man felt (y/n) hug his torso the best she could. He returned the affection by wrapping one of his muscular arms around her. For the tiny pillar child, it was kind of unusual to feel a layer of fabric between her cheek and his chest. But at least he was wearing something more than what he had went into hibernation in. Joseph coughed a bit into his hand and sighed. His greyish green eyes looked to Santana, "Santana, can you tell me where my cane is?" "In your hand, Jojo.," the Pillar man said with a tone that told the others that Joseph had been doing this for a while to the pillar.
Joseph looked to Okuyasu and motioned to him, "Excuse me, young man. What is your name?" "I'm Okuyasu Nijimura, I am a stand user.," the teen answered the old man. The elderly gentleman put his hand up to his ear and turned his ear towards the teen, "Huh?" "Stand user!," Okuyasu repeated. "Huh?," the old man said again. "Stand user.," the teen said again with more emphasis on his words. "You can't stand losers?," Joseph asked. "Stand user!," Okuyasu exclaimed with annoyance. "Oh, A stand user.," the old man finally understood, "That is a rough life."
Caesar laughed a little. It had to be from how ridiculous Joseph was acting. Santana sighed and looked to Okuyasu, "We had to deal with this the whole way here." Caesar could not stop snickering, "I am so sorry. He was not like his originally, he was quite sharp." "Annoyingly so.," Santana added. (Y/n) began to snicker as she climbed up onto Santana's shoulders, "He was such a smartass. You and Jojo were handful for Lisa Lisa from what she told me."
Caesar chuckled, "We hated each other at first. But then we became close friends. Isn't that right Jojo?" The Italian put his arm over the elderly British-American's shoulder. The old man looked at his old friend, "Huh?" Santana looked up to the little girl on his shoulder. (Y/n) was looking away from the old man. Not even wanting to see him. The door to the cabin opened, a crew member stepped in. "Sir Santana, Your daytime gear is ready. We should have you get dressed before letting you step out into the sunlight.," the crewman spoke.
Santana rose from his seat to his impressive height. (Y/n) clung to his back as he walked away. The tiny pillar girl accompanied him as she was curious to see what the foundation made for Santana to allow him to walk in the daytime. The plum haired girl sat on one of the stools as Santana was presented with the gear. They looked like regular clothes. Santana put on the coat that was made for him and the gloves to protect his hands. Special sunglasses and a face mask. The little girl was laughing at how he looked, "You look like a celebrity trying to hide from his fans."
Santana had a puzzled expression on his face as he put his sunglasses on. He did not understand exactly what she was talking about, but he did hear about humans that others looked up to. The Speedwagon crew member held up a suitcase for him, "These are all Ultraviolet and infrared light blocking clothes. We even packed the experimental sunscreen that you will have to wear with the cloak, if it fails, please get into the safety of a shaded area as soon as possible to wait until it is safe then call us to tell us. Have a enjoyable and safe time, Santana."
The pillar man took the luggage from the crewmember, "Thank you." The human left the two inhuman beings. The boat was pulling into port. Santana looked at the coat he had on before he took it off and put in the cloak that was closer to the style of clothing he was more used to wearing. He kept the sunglasses on. He picked up the luggage after packed everything back. The little girl on the stool watched him, "Santana. You're going to meet a lot of humans. You can tell me if you feel uncomfortable at all, you don't have to force yourself to do something if you don't feel comfortable."
The pillar man looked up at his tiny master, "You are very considerate, Lady (y/n)." "You don't have to call me that anymore. I am (y/n).," the child said, "Titles such as those are meaningless. We don't have need for them as we are the last living ones of our kind." "Yes, lady- I mean (y/n).," the vermillion haired pillar said as he rose from his kneeling. The two sensed a squabble from the cabin they were in before. The child recognized the energy of Red Hot Chili Pepper. The stand had infiltrated the boat. They went to investigate and found that Okuyasu had punched the electrical Stand's user.
Santana helped to detain him by keeping a vice grip on the human teen. Caesar jokingly reminded that Santana should probably not eat this enemy. Santana looked to the little girl for guidance. Her answer was to insert her hand into his leg and drink some of his blood, of which Santana copied. They did not kill the stand user, only drank enough to maim for a while. The boat docked and the stand user was taken to prison.
(Y/n) disembarked with Santana following, the sight of this massive man impressed the ones who had been wating in the harbor, this ancient creature who had chosen to visit them. The pillar man pulled his hood further over his head to protect himself. His scarlet eyes seemed to gather ambient light and glow. Everyone looked up as Joseph walked off of the boat and down to his son, Josuke. The old man tripped but was caught by his son. Josuke could have fixed the broken cane that his father had, but he chose not to and took the elderly man's hand to walk with him.
Small smiles adorned the faces of the ones watching them walk away. Kakyoin walked up and introduced himself to Santana, "My name is Noriaki Kakyoin, pleased to meet you after hearing about you." "I am Santana. You are one of (y/n)'s humans. I can smell it on you.," the pillar man said before looking at the silver haired boy staring up at him and the dog barking a him. He felt a tiny hand take his, "Santana. The Foundation members have prepared a room for you at the Grand Morioh hotel. We should go." Santana did not disagree, he had not rested since he awoken. He needed that rest now.
Although the bow and arrow were retrieved, there was still a dark presence of danger looming over the city of Morioh.
