Chapter Fifty-five: Memoirs
Starry expanses and the feeling of loneliness creeped into the mind of the tiny pillar, a reminder of the cold and lonely existence her father now had. She felt that his mind was beginning to slip, soon she would not feel him anymore. Her red eyes opened to the ceiling of Josuke's room. She looked to the calendar on the wall and saw it was almost three days since she fell asleep. She light coming through the window told her that it was twilight. The child got up and walked out of her stepbrother's room. She smelled something cooking.
Some small barks were coming from the kitchen. The plum haired little girl followed the sound and saw Iggy panting up at Tomoko, asking for food. The dog got a piece of food from asking for it. "Iggy?," the little girl spoke. The little dog barked at her happily. The child knelt down and patted the Boston terrier, "What are you doing here? Are you here because the hotel won't allow dogs?" "Yes, Kakyoin asked us to look after him. He was a bit stubborn at first, but he has since chilled out.," Josuke said as he was doing his homework.
"He was much worse when we took a trip to Egypt.," the little girl said, "He and Jean did not get along at all. You really liked to mess with Jean." Iggy wagged his tail and barked. "He's a smart and handsome dog.," Tomoko said, "Your friend has a good companion. Wait, you went to Egypt?" "Yes, I went to Egypt with Joseph, Jotaro, Kakyoin, Jean and Avdol. Iggy came to join us later.," the little girl replied, "It was pretty fun, we went to quite a few places. I have some pictures."
Josuke put his homework away as he finished and motioned to the girl to show him the pictures. She placed the pictures that she got from DIO's mansion on the table in front of him. The ones that Her vampire brother did not cut up, those stayed in her bag. "This one was in Hong Kong. This one was singapore. Oh, Pakistan, that was fun. I honestly did not like India, but the drink we had was good.," She said as she pointed the pictures out to her stepbrother, "And here we are in Egypt finally. I admit I ran ahead to Cairo."
Tomoko picked up the picture of everyone sitting down at a cafe in India, "This place looks like a nice restaurant." She got a nod from the little girl, "The locals were a bit too beggary, but the chai was good."
Josuke picked up a picture that showed the little girl clawing a blond man in a cowboy hat, "What did this guy do to you?" "Oh. He picked a fight with Avdol and I. He even shot Avdol.," the little girl said with an irritated tone. "Do you have any other pictures?," Josuke asked. "I think so. I might have one I took with Caesar or even Speedwagon.," the little girl spoke and looked through her bags. Iggy sniffed her bag and started to growl. The little girl looked back at him, "Hm? Oh, you must be smelling this.."
(Y/n) pulled a green heart circlet from her bag and Iggy bristled more, his teeth were bared. "Iggy. He's dead. He's not going to hurt you. I picked this up after Jean cut it off of him.," the little girl said and showed the circlet to the dog, "Jotaro killed him. He won't be able to hurt anyone anymore."
The dog settled down only after the little girl put the circlet away. (Y/n) continued to share her pictures with Josuke. Iggy had an ear up, listening in on the stories the small child was telling.
Tomoko and Josuke looked at the pictures. The woman seemed a little interested in the pictures, "Do you have any pictures of your mother and father?" (Y/n) shook her little head, "Not at all. I only have this picture of a mural featuring my daddy and uncles." She pushed an old looking photograph to the Japanese woman, Tomoko picked the picture up. Like the little red eyed girl said, there was a mural on the image. Four figures, all of them had horns. "This looks like an ancient mural.," the woman said, "Like those I saw in history class in college."
"The one at the top is my father, see how he has the same three horns I have?," the little girl spoke, "The one below him is Esidisi. Then Wamuu. The one on the bottom is Santana." The little girl looked at the picture some more, she of course did not see herself. She was always hidden from the humans, "It's been a long time since daddy and the others were defeated in battle."
The woman got up after she looked at the clock, "Time for dinner, Josuke. Do you want to eat anything, (y/n)?" "I am fine.," the little girl replied when she was actually really hungry, "I'll go get something later." The little girl got up and stretched, "In fact. I'm going on a walk." "You're not going anywhere.," Tomoko said sternly and got up to sit at the dining room table, "You're staying in this house. You're not going outside until it is daylight tomorrow." The little girl sighed, "Yes tomoko." (Y/n) continued to look at the old pictures. Josuke picked one Polaroid up. It was a dark photograph. But it somehow made Josuke kind of angry to look at. A blond man in the picture had his back facing the one who took the picture, a star marking was clearly visible on his neck. He was going to tear the picture up when he felt a small hand take the picture from him, the little pillar girl was placing the photo back into her bags.
"Who was that? He made me kind of mad.," Josuke said, "Something was not right about that one." "That was Dio.," the little girl replied, "The only recent picture of him before he was killed. Iggy and the others hate him. But, I can't help but to have a little love for him since we were siblings over a hundred years ago." Josuke now had an idea of who this DIO guy was and why he needed to be killed.
(Y/n) did not sit down to have dinner with them. She instead was looking at her collected items over the years. Her mother's headpiece, her father's headwrap, her father's feathers, the red stone she was given, Esidisi's horn, Wamuu's horn, the doll that Jonathan gave her and Dio's circlet. The little girl felt a pang of longing for the family she lost. She loved them and missed them. Iggy propped himself up on the edge of the table to look at the little collection she had, he pawed at Esidisi's horn and whined to ask her what they were. "That is my uncle's horn.," the little girl said and held the warm horn out for Iggy to smell. He had to have smelled the inhuman scent on it. His head tilted as he wagged. (Y/n) let him smell her father's feathers, the dog wagged harder. He must have smelled the scent that was similar to the child's.
"These feathers were my father's. He grew wings once he gained the power he sought for so long.," Plum haired pillar child said, "This headpiece was my mother's. She was killed by a rival tribe after they learned that mommy was pregnant with me. Daddy did not like that and he got rid of them." Iggy listened to the little girl. She did not know that Josuke and Tomoko were listening in too. "I miss them, Iggy. I miss daddy's hugs. I miss Wamuu's stories. I even miss Esidisi's teasing.," the child said as little tears dripped from her eyes, "I've never met my mommy but I miss her too."
Iggy whined and nudged her hand with his head, he got some scratches on his head from her. "How about we go play with Avdol and Kakyoin tomorrow? Or we can go play in the fields outside of town ourselves?," the child asked the dog who gave a wag and a bark, "I'll have to be careful though, you are twelve years old." Iggy growled at her. "I am not being patronizing. I really don't want to hurt you.," the little girl said and gave Iggy another headscratch. The girl put all of her items away and went to help with the dishes after Josuke and Tomoko finished eating. The little girl watched as they got ready for bed. She sat on the couch and read as Iggy was curled up beside her. She did not feel as alone as she did before. Almost like her family was with her.
(Y/n) felt kind of happy. She still missed her family greatly. The little girl read all night until the sun rose. She woke Josuke up so he wouldn't be late for school and helped Tomoko to make breakfast. Iggy was able to have some bacon.
As Josuke was leaving for school, (y/n) ran out the door with Iggy following her. She waved goodbye to Josuke and tomoko as she went to find her old friends from her journey to Egypt. Her small feet tapped against the pavement as Iggy's paws padded along with her. The metal paw he had made a clacking sound as he ran behind the little girl. The two followed the scent of their friends to find them. Iggy barked as he smelled coffee gum on Avdol. They had decided to double team the Egyptian together. Iggy went for the coffee gum, (y/n) was aiming for his back to jump on. Iggy was able to grab the gum but the little girl was caught by a bird headed man, "Darn it!"
The Egyptian man turned around to look at the little girl being held by the bird headed man. The plum haired girl was set down by the bird headed stand. Magician's Red was a cool looking stand. It disappeared before she could try and grab it. Her little cheeks puffed up as Iggy was laughing. "Nice try.," the Egyptian said. "We won, actually. Iggy has his gum.," the little girl said. Avdol looked down to the terrier that was chewing the gum. He sighed in a bit of defeat, "Alright. You two got me." The small girl grinned and followed Avdol, "So what are you going to do today?"
Avdol looked at the girl and dog following him, "I am going to the library to do some research regarding this town. It has the highest rate of murders and missing people in all of Japan, eight times the national average." "Because of the stand users no doubt. That and the looming wickedness that breeds here.," the little girl said and stopped in front of the local library. Avdol got on one knee, "Perhaps you should go see Jotaro or Kakyoin. I am afraid you and Iggy cannot follow me any further."
Iggy barked to the little girl to follow him, she did after waving goodbye to the Egyptian man. They passed the alley again. More whispers were coming from the alley. Whispers and a dripping sound. Drip. Drip. Drip. (Y/n) pushed her curiosity of the alley out of her mind.
She and the dog continued to find Kakyoin and Jotaro. The two were walking to the beach. The little girl jumped onto Jotaro's shoulder as Iggy barked. The black haired man looked up at her, "(y/n). Why are you on me?," Jotaro asked. "Because I wanted to spend time with you and Kakyoin. Avdol is at the library.," the little girl said and waved at Kakyoin, "It's kind of sad that everyone could not make it. It would have been fun to have a reunion."
Kakyoin made a small chuckle, "It would be. I have been meaning to ask you, did DIO hurt you at all back in his mansion?" "No. He actually acted like he used to when we were in the Joestar mansion, like he was being my big brother again.," the little girl said, "But I know that he was more than likely just acting like that to keep me from killing him and to convince me to join him." "I am glad you weren't hurt.," Kakyoin said with a small smile. "I meant to tell you something as well.," the little girl said and the violet eyed man looked back at her, "Hierophant looks so cool."
The red haired man let his stand out behind him, it was just as amazing as when the pillar girl first saw it. She grinned, "He has a pretty pattern." "So what is your stand?," the redhead asked. "I don't really know. I only know that there are bladed wings that it has and can cut things very well.," (y/n) replied and let the wings of her stand appear behind her, "The wings are the only thing I can call out." "The wings are quite pretty. They seem to be somewhat iridescent.," Kakyoin said, "Makes me wonder what your stand's true form is."
(Y/n) leaned on Jotaro's hat and let her stand vanish, "So do I. I don't even know my stand's name." "You will in time.," Jotaro said, "Will you get off of me and go play with Iggy somewhere? You are annoying." The little pillar kissed her nephew's head after taking his hat off, "You love me. But we're going~ Love you Jotaro~"
The tiny girl stuck her tongue out at the Japanese man when he made an angry face at her after she hopped off of him. She gave him his hat back and ran off to explore. She saw Koichi was having a meet up with a teenaged girl. Something was strange about the teenaged girl. But, the pillar child brushed it off to go to the park and play with Iggy. She loved seeing The Fool as they played together.
