Chapter 2: Joestar siblings
Jonathan and Dio chased their sister around the large yard, their game was to try and catch the little girl before the other could while she tried to avoid both. The little girl squealed when Dio almost grabbed her, causing the blond to laugh when she jumped out of his reach, "I almost had you that time!" "Getting better Dio! I might actually have to put effort into avoiding you two soon!," the girl shouted back to her blond brother. She sensed Jonathan sneaking up behind her to pick her up and jumped as he pounced. She landed on his back when he fell to the ground, "Nice try. Except you do it every time we play." She crouched on her blueish haired brother's back and poked at his hair, a pair of hands grabbed her and she was hugged to Dio's chest, "I have you! First time you were caught was by I, Dio!" "Oh no! You certainly got me.," the girl said dramatically, "Like you weren't using Jonathan to make me lose my guard."
The blue haired boy got up and dusted himself off, "Well, we were finally able to catch her." (Y/n) waved her hands, "Congrats. I have been caught by weakling humans."
Dio felt her forehead, "You're warm. And pale, are you sick?" "I can't get sick like humans, so, I don't know.." the girl replied. Her health had seemed to be on the decline since she woke up. The two boys did not know what was happening to her. But she was starting to burn in the sunlight, so it was time to get back inside. The little girl hugged her blond brother's neck, "It's probably nothing."
"You can tell us if you feel unwell at all.," Jonathan said and sneezed. "Don't tell me both of you have colds.," Dio said as he made a disgusted face. "It's don't have a cold, but I am pretty hungry.," the little girl said. "You have a bigger appetite than both of us.," Jonathan said and wrapped his scarf around his neck. Dio shifted how he was holding his little sister so she was sitting in the crook of his elbow. The blond felt the three horns brush against his cheek as the girl leaned against him. She was sickly looking compared to how she first looked when she woke.
"What are you two going to study in school?," the girl asked, hoping that they would focus on something besides her declining health. Dio puffed up his chest proudly, "I'm studying to be a lawyer." Jonathan snickered as the little girl smiled. The plum haired girl was more supportive, "I hope you become a good lawyer." "I certainly plan to.," Dio replied and glared at his brother, "What are you laughing at?"
"Lawyers end up in Hell, haven't you heard?," Jonathan laughed. Dio sighed, "And you think you're any better, Archeologist? A glorified grave robber?" (Y/n) snickered at her squabbling brothers, "I'm gonna be a princess." "You're already a princess.," Dio said with a smile, "Your highness." "If I'm a princess, then you two are princes. You certainly look the part.," the girl replied, "And father is the king." The three started to laugh. It was peaceful in the Joestar family.

Several years passed and the boys grew into fine young men. The girl never grew at all. This raised more alarms as they realized that she would outlive all of them, she would probably have to be passed down to the descendants to be cared for. She grew weaker from some unknown reason. She was always hungry. Nothing satisfied her hunger. She however, never grew angry or bitter, staying kind. Her mind never woke up completely. Jonathan and Dio went to school, studying to be what they aspired to be. Dio was the top of his class in the study of law, and Jonathan was writing an impressive thesis for archeology. Their father was growing sick. He became bedridden with disease. The little girl would stay with her father while her brothers were out doing their schooling or when they were doing their football games.
This day was no different. She was sitting on the bed next to her father as he told her stories of his childhood and of his wife. (Y/n) listened as he spoke. He placed a hand on her soft hair, being careful of the horns after he found out how sensitive the little horns were. "(Y/n). When the boys get back home, how about going into town with them? The fresh air might do you some good.," the man spoke kindly to his adopted daughter. Her red eyes looked down and nodded. She would have to wear that little cloak that he had made for her. The plum haired girl heard her brothers get home and looked to the door when they walked into the room. "Hello father, (y/n).," Jonathan greeted with a smile on his face. Dio walked in after him. "Hello boys, how was school today?," the man asked. The two began to tell them their day, it was a good day at school for the both of them. Dio went to his room to study while Jonathan stayed behind to talk to his father more.
George looked down to his daughter, "Jonathan, you're going into town to run errands and purchase more supplies correct? Take (y/n), she has not been in town yet, I think it would be good for her." "Father, you know she is afraid of being around a lot of humans.," the young man said. His father raised his hand, "Jonathan, I am aware. But she needs to know that it is safe here. Take her and show her around."
The young man nodded and picked his little sister up, "Yes father. Let's try to make this fun, (y/n)." The young man took the girl out after she put on the cloak meant to protect her from the sunlight. She rode on his back as he used his bicycle to ride into town. The girl's hood fell off of her head from the breeze that flowed by as she rode. Her long hair streamed behind her. Her red eyes spotted movement in the trees and she saw a large deer. It had a cut on it. The blood made her feel even more hungry than she usually was. Her eyes watched the deer before turned back to look ahead to their destination. Jonathan got off of the bike and pulled his sister's hood back over her head and horns. He did not want to scare the folk there. The first place he went was the general store to get new pens after his broke and some new ink and parchment. He then went to the bakery after seeing one there.
"What is that smell? It smells good.," (y/n) said as Jonathan walked into the bakery while covering her eyes, "Like bread and pastries." The young man uncovered her eyes so she could see. The little girl was surprised to see all of the breads and pastries. Her little face lit up in joy. "This is called a bakery. This is where we get the bread and pastries.," Jonathan explained as the baker watched. "Ho ho. Is that Jonathan?," the man asked, "And who is this?" Jonathan turned to the baker, "This is my little sister. Father adopted her. This is her first time seeing a bakery." The jolly baker laughed and smiled before holding a small bun out for the girl, "Something for you, sweetheart." "Thank you.," the little girl said and held out some coins before the baker held up his hand. "No charge, just this once.," the jolly person said, "Enjoy." (Y/n) grinned widely as her brother paid for some bread to use for sandwiches. The little girl nibbled on the bun as she and her brother walked around the town. He stopped in one store and handed (y/n) a pretty little doll he just purchased for her. The girl took the doll then hugged her brother, her first doll. It was pretty and blonde like Erina. He did not have to get her the doll, she did not even ask for it. But he got it for her out of his thoughtfulness. They continued to walk though he town before going home. The little girl held her doll as she walked inside. She was happy to be part of this family.
The next morning, Jonathan and Dio saw a change in their sister. She had more energy and her skin was not as pale anymore, she looked more healthy. She was playing with her doll in the library. One of the maids ran inside with news of a horrifying sight, there was a deer outside that seemed to be missing all of its internal organs and blood, only skin and bones remained. Jonathan and Dio looked sickened by it when they saw the sight. What could have done this? After that, more animals, smaller animals appeared around the country town like that. Husks. No wounds, just husks.
(Y/n) was getting healthier day by day as this happened. She was also a lot more energetic and harder to catch when the three siblings played. Her athletic ability increased, she was able to jump into trees and onto the roofs of small houses, even jumping to he second floor instead of using the stairs, much to the dismay of the poor maids who got startled by the inhuman little girl.
Jonathan woke one night and looked out his window to see his sister sitting in the tree outside his window. He tapped on the window to get her attention. She turned and her eyes seemed to glow from the light of the moon. He was reminded that the girl was not human by seeing her like this. It was easy to forget that she was a creature beyond human limits from how small and innocent she looked. The girl looked back to the night sky, her long hair flowing behind her in the night breeze. The blueish haired young man went back to bed and found her in the same tree the next morning, staring into his room. This startled Jonathan, "Could you scare Dio too at least?" Her red eyes stared at him before she dropped out of the tree backwards and landed on her feet before going back inside. Jonathan began to think that she liked to scare people with what she could do now that she was bursting with energy. He left his room and saw Dio walking to the library to study again. Behind him was their little sister, barely up to his thigh. The girl tapped his leg and jumped out of view when he turned to try to see her. She kept the game up until she jumped on his back, startling Dio. Jonathan laughed and got a glare from Dio, "You two planned this, huh?" The blond continued into the library with the little girl on his back, he was going to keep studying for his law degree. He did not seem or mind his little sister there watching him or playing quietly with her doll.
"(Y/n). Have you heard of the strange things that have been happening to animals around here?," Dio asked, "Old and sick animals have been disappearing and ending up as husks. It is very strange." He heard her stop playing with the doll and turned to the girl, "You know something about it with that reaction. Your health has improved after these occurrences began, it is only logical that you were the one behind them. Plus I noticed that your appetite at dinner has gone away, meaning you are full."
His sister's red eyes turned to meet his amber ones, her gaze looked the same as when she first awoke. Deadly. "So it was you.," the young man said and chuckled, "How interesting and terrifying. I keep forgetting that you aren't human." (Y/n) turned back to her doll, "Those animals were dying. I made them pass without suffering. It was merciful." "But you still killed them.," the blond spoke with his head resting against his hand, "Such a small creature that can be so destructive."
His sister got up and left her blond brother to go spend time with her father as Dio was starting to annoy her with his quick analysis of what happened. She was starting to rediscover her power, perhaps in time she would wake up the portion of her brain that was still asleep.
