Chapter 7

Chapter 7~ Escaping the Circus

The tent was lighter, but I refused to open my eyes. After everything that happened last night I felt drained, I hope I wasn't catching something! I felt the bed shifting and slowly opened my eyes to see a blushing Ciel and a very flustered stutter coming out of his mouth.

"Wha- why? I-I uh?" Ciel continued to stare and when he looked down at what I was wearing his blush got darker making me giggle.

"Like what you see, my lord?" I smirked.

"Wh-what are you t-talking about?" he continued to stutter.

"My my, I didn't think you would be like this after getting sick Ciel..." I whispered getting closer. In the back of my mind I knew that I shouldn't be picking on him like this, but it's his fault! He shouldn't be this adorable when he just wakes up!

I circled my arms around his neck and shoulders in a loose hug, "Are you feeling better?" I looked him in the eye with a serious expression for once.

He nodded, "I'm fine, don't worry..." he still felt a bit warm and I could tell that his cough wasn't going to go away very quickly but he was looking better than yesterday.

"Well young master, I see you're feeling better..." Sebastian smirked at the two of us as Ciel struggled to get out of my hold, he ended up falling out of the bed.

"Ow!" Ciel began coughing.

"Honestly young master, you could have been more courteous of Miss Sin," Sebastian walked over and picked up Ciel.

I laughed and gave the two a smile, then I noticed Sebastian's gloves were missing. His black nails and contract symbol were in plain view.

"What happened to your gloves?" Ciel asked with and annoying look.

"I seem to have gotten them a bit dirty, so sorry sir!" Sebastian said with a pleasant smile.

"Sure...just a bit..." I said sarcastically with a smirk towards Sebastian. He winked and Ciel looked at us in confusion.

"Anyway, I assume you completed my errand correct?" Ciel changed the subject.

"Indeed, we should probably leave now while everyone is at breakfast my lord." Sebastian stated.

It hit me, they were leaving...

I know that they were only here because of an order from the queen but it didn't stop the overwhelming sense of dread I felt in my heart.

It was silent, I didn't speak. I quietly got up and turned to leave but Ciel's voice stopped me.

"Siren? Where are you going?" Ciel asked me.

"I have to get dressed my lord, as well as let both of you leave. If you don't hurry everyone will finish breakfast and you will be stuck," I replied with a smile even though there was a huge lump in my throat, "If you both will excuse me." I bowed and almost made it out of the tent.

"Sebastian, gather Siren's things...that's an order. Once everything is done we will depart to the townhouse." Ciel order much to my disbelief.

"Yes, my lord." Sebastian said with an amused smirk.

"Ciel you don't have to do this, I do not wish to burden you with my presence. If you would get your work finished-" I started but then Ciel held up his hand and stopped me.

"I am not about to let you go. Your powers as well as your lineage are very unique and could be of great use to me." he stated as Sebastian left to go pack my things.

"But I don't have any connections, the queen doesn't even know about me!" I quietly shouted.

"Then after this is sorted out we will present you to her majesty and work something out. Besides, I'm sure Elizabeth won't mind if I change my engagement partner." he casually smirked.

I was in shock, he basically proposed a betrothal! Between him and I! "Elizabeth is a delightful cousin and she loves you dearly, I don't think it would be a smart decision to call off your engagement with her in order to make one with me. I am no longer a noble at the moment and not to mention from your memories of her, she seems quite taken with the idea of being your wife." I calmly remarked.

"What do you know of my memories! You-You!" he realized it.

"Indeed, I told you I was blessed by the wisdom goddess Athena. With that blessing I am able to learn a persons every thought and life through a single touch." I explained.

"That's how you knew about me, and my asthma!" his eye widened.

"No matter my lord, you should think things through rationally. I will only bring more misfortune..." I looked at the ground darkly. I wanted to be with him, and I wanted to help him, but I knew that what I wanted wasn't what he needed.

"I couldn't care less if you bring more misfortune. I've already been to hell and back, if staying with you means going deeper into this hell that we call life then I am willing to make the sacrifice. After all it's not like I'm going to heaven whether you stay away or not." his smirk made my resolve crumble. I sighed in defeat while he smiled in victory. "Besides, Lizzie only likes me as a cousin..." he added as Sebastian entered once more carrying my things as well as an outfit to change into before we leave.

I quickly went behind a divider and changed into the outfit. It was a dark purple dress with a built in corset and long sleeves, the neckline was square with lace linking it and the skirts of the dress where a high-low style. I wore black knee high socks with black Mary Janes and black gloves. I tied a large purple bow in my hair before stepping out so that we could leave.

"Let us depart young master, Miss Sin," Sebastian bowed before picking both Ciel and I up into his arms and walking out of the tent.

After passing a few I recognized a familiar hedge trimmer, "William?"

He noticed me in Sebastian's arms and regarded me with wide eyes, "Lady Sin!" he dipped his head respectfully as a greeting.

"If I had known you were here I would have greeted you sooner William!" I complained childishly.

"My Lady do not worry, I was busy with work as usual." He stated stiffly.

"You know him?" Ciel asked.

"Why of course! I am related to Thanatos after all, he is the god of death. Shinigamis such as William here are related, underlings if you will..." I explained.

"I see..." Ciel stated.

"Well my master and I are departing now, we leave you to your business." Sebastian fake smiled as he continued walking.

"I don't care where you go as long as your master is with you, but do be mindful of Lady Sin. She is important to all reapers as well as Thanatos himself. You really don't want us as an enemy demon." William T. Spears warmed as we walked farther and farther from the circus. After years of staying with them, and being called family I am choosing to abandon them so that I will be able to be free. As I look back at my home for many years I find myself smiling, after everything I have been through and what the first stringers are doing there is a chance even if it is slim, there is a chance that I will be able to put a stop to everything.

I will make sure that this is their last performance.
