Joel's P.O.V

I've been looking for Ellie since the morning and its the evening since the sun is setting. Me and Marshall had been taking night shifts now to make sure nothing happens to us.

As Marshall was taking the lead, a sound of branch broke. I looked to my back and saw bushes rustling.I motioned to Marshall to lay low and get our weapons out. Soon we were laying on our stomachs flatly on the ground and aiming to the sound with our guns.

Suddenly a short figure was heading to our direction. I wasn't sure who it was. My eyes widened but with anger at the same time as I saw him.

Sam.

I ran at him and pushed him to the ground having my arm on his neck, pressing hard. "Where is she?" I asked him as I narrowed my eyes. "I don't know what your talkin' about." He replies back.

"Don't play with me, Sam. Where is she?!" I said again but louder.

"I don't know!" He replied again. "Yo, maybe he doesn't know.." Marshall interjects calmly.

I stood up and looked around, sighing while Sam did the same.

"Where did you run off to?" I asked.

"When the crew found out you guys escaped, everyone then tried attacking me for doing it and found out. So at night I escaped the place and found myself walking around for days until I found you guys." Sam replies.

"Ellie's gone?.." Sam asks worriedly. I wanted to be quiet for abit since I need to find my girl. "Yeah." Marshall replies to him.

"Let's just keep looking." I suggested as I began walking.

Hours of searching and still no sign of Ellie.

Ellie's P.O.V

Me and the dragon have flown for hours. Since we flew back from where she took me, no one was there.

We kept looking around until I found something shining in the distance between a gap in the forest. "Check there!" I ordered the dragon and she flew toward it.

Joel's P.O.V

As we were walking, I suddenly began hearing wingbeats. These weren't normal wingbeats. They sounded louder and felt bigger. I took my Python (pistol) and held it out, turning its direction as Marshall and Sam did the same.

A black figure suddenly flew above us quickly. "The fuck?..." Marshall asks looking weirdly.

We suddenly heard rustling in the bushes.

"Joel?" A familiar voice came out behind of the bushes. It called again until I noticed who it was.

Ellie.

I dropped my gun and Ellie emerged from the bushes and she ran into me, hugging tightly.

"Um.. Joel.. We have something else here.." Sam says as I look at him and seeing he's pointing behind Ellie. My eyes widen at the sight that I saw.

"Ellie? What in the hell is that?!" I ask questioningly.

"Calm down Joel. She's harmless." Ellie informed me as I took out my knife.

The beast's huge blue eyes darted at me then the knife. Then in the next second I noticed I was pinned to the ground while the dragon was in top of me, it's wings spread to the side.

"Emerald! No!" Ellie called out but the dragon ignored.

"Joel! But that knife down! Or else she'll do something you don't want to know." Ellie called out again but then kept staring into the aquatic blue eyes of the black beast. Surrendering, I dropped the knife and the dragon growled at me fiercely , then it got up and walked to Ellie and sat beside her.

I stood up and stood back. "How did you?..." I asked Ellie thoughtfully as she told me how it all started.

"Well she better keep us company," I suggested. Emerald narrowed her eyes and looked away. "Anyways the sun's going down and we gotta find a place to stay. Let's go." We all glanced at each other as I walked followed my Sam then Marshall then Ellie and, last but not least, Emerald the dragon.
