Yuki's POV
It's only been an hour since Leo came in my room, and I still can't get to sleep. Is Leo even asleep? I turned to my right side and saw Leo sleeping soundly. He looks really cute. I then looked at his ears. They looked really soft, I wanted to feel them. I then reached out my hand to his ears, but I then stopped myself. I didn't want to make him think I was weird. I wanted to pull my hand back, but then all of a sudden I stroked his left ear. My face turned red with embarrassment and I turned to my left side avoiding Leo's eyes. After a minute I turned back around and Leo was still asleep. I wanted to try again, so I reached my hand to his left ear, but before I could touch it his left ear twitched. I pulled my hand back, and smiled. This kinda doesn't feel real to me. It feels like I'm in some type of dream.
Despite that I tried again, and I managed to feel his left ear. It was really soft, soft like a feather. As I continued stroking his ear, it kept twitching and Leo was smiling. Does he like it? My face grew hot and I decided to stop. I then turned on my left side and went to sleep.

(Time skip to morning)

Leo's POV
As I got up I yawned and wiped my eyes. I looked to my left and Yuki wasn't there, did he leave? I then got out of bed and went downstairs to the living room. I then saw Yuki in the kitchen making breakfast. "Good morning Yuki." Yuki then turned around and gave me a smile "Good morning Leo. Did you sleep well?" I smiled back. "Yeah I did. To be honest I needed a good night's rest." "Oh good, I'm glad you slept well." I then got close to Yuki and looked over his shoulder. "What are you making Yuki?" I asked. "I'm making some eggs with bacon. Wait can you have egges?" I responded with "Yeah I can. The Lupis can eat meat and plants." Yuki then smiled again. "Good. Well then you should wash up. Breakfast will be done in a bit. The bathroom is the door in front of your room." I nodded. "Alright thank you Yuki." I then walked to the bathroom.
I knocked on the door to see if anyone was inside. No response. I opened the door and as I went in, a towel and a new toothbrush were on the counter. I decided to take a shower so that way the wounds can breath and the dried blood can be washed off. I took off the clothes I had on and went into the shower.

(Time skip to showers end)

As I got out of the shower and put a towel on I then brushed my teeth with the new toothbrush. I brushed for a good two minutes and my teeth are as white as they can be. Then all of a sudden the door opened and on the other side was Yuki. After he saw me in only a towel his face went totally red and so did mine from the embarrassment. He then turned around. "S-Sorry Leo! I should have knocked! Anyway breakfast is ready so get dressed and come downstairs!" He then left and then I got everything I brought in the bathroom and went into my room.
I then went through the drawers and found some comfortable blue jeans and found a non ripped blue T-shirt. I put them on and then I went downstairs. I went into the living room and saw Yuki getting out two plates so he can put the food on there. As he placed down my plate and fork he looked at me and then he blushed slightly. He must still be embarrassed for what happens upstairs. He then went to his seat and put down his plate. "Thank you for the food." We both said and we began to eat. I just noticed that Yui isn't here. I wonder where she is? I asked Yuki. "Hey Yuki, where's Yui?" Yuki looked at me and responded. "She had to go to work. She works at a high school." I realized that humans had to go to school... for 5 days a week. "But isn't today Saturday?" Yuki nodded. "Yes it is, but she got called in for some exam grading." "Oh. I remember now. Humans in school take these tests. I believe they're called... midterms?" Yuki looked at me with a mild surprised expression. "Leo. Do you even go to school?" I shook my head. I wanted to change the subject.
"Hey Yuki is it okay if you can take me to the base of Mt. Haku?" Yuki looked at me confused. "Why do your want me to do that Leo?" I gave him a look of determination. "I have to perform a Howling." Yuki looked at me confused. "A Howling is a ceremony to honor the dead and to pacify the souls of the departed Lupis." Yuki then was enlightened. He thought about it and then said "Sure I'll take you to the base." I smiled and after we ate we went to Mt. Haku.

Yuki's POV
We left the house and went to Mt. Haku. Leo said it was to perform a Howling, but why do I get the feeling that he's not telling me everything. I wanted to ask him a question. "Leo... is Mt. Haku where they died?" He nodded. "And is it where you got hurt?" He nodded again and spoke "By the hunters."
Leo was hurt by the hunters and lived. I can't imagine the feeling if getting shot. It must've been really painful for him to watch his family die and then nearly die himself. After awhile we finally reached Mt. Haku and Leo began to walk closer to the mountain.

Leo's POV
I took a few deep breaths and concentrated on my breathing. Then I transformed into my wolf form and then I began howling. I howled many notes in many different tones. I could feel the souls of the departed be at peace by the howls. Goodbye Malachi, Kyle, Jewel, May. Goodbye my family. Maybe one day I'll see you again. After a few minutes of howling I stopped and turned back into my human-like form. I turned to Yuki and said "The Howling is done. Let's go home Yuki." Yuki nodded and we left the base of Mt. Haku.

Yuki's POV
We began to walk home from Mt, Haku. Hearing Leo howl was nice, I bet he could sing quite as good as his howling. As we were walking home I saw a familiar face. "Oh no." Leo looked at me. "What's wrong Yuki." I looked to him "Leo we have to hide." After that I grabbed his hand and hid in an alley filled with darkness. The familiar figure then walked passed us. He had black hair with bleached tips, wore a Skull T-shirt and was around 5'7'. He walked passed us and then we came out of the alley. "Yuki who was that?" I turned to him. "That was Budo Onori. He's the big bully at my school. I suggest staying away from him." After that we kept walking home.
