Damian: I'm Sorry

As my parents are explaining the situation to my relatives I steal glances over at my sister. Every time I see her with that bad influence of a guy my blood boils. She should not be around Fowler. I can't even count how many times they've gotten into trouble together.

My mother is the only person who doesn't have a problem with Fowler. I know my father and I do. My mother says he is good for Skye but I'd like to disagree. I can't even begin to understand what Skye or my mother see in him.

Despite my protests she still hangs around him. And now she's sleeping on his shoulder with him holding her close to him. I glare daggers at him. He catches my glare but quickly looks away as soon as he makes eye contact.

Fowler has always been intimidated by me. Always keeps his head down and is silent around me. Skye hates it but I certainly don't mind it.

When my sister stopped talking to everyone Fowler was the only way through to her. He was the only one she would talk to. I would ask him a million times how that was possible but he'd never answer me. He had said that he wasn't allowed to tell me.

On one hand though. He does bring out the lighter side of Skye. Whenever they're together she just seems to glow.

A very loud, very high pitched scream pierces the air. I look over and see Fowler struggling with Skye. She thrashes in his arms as he tries to hold her steady but nothing will stop her.

"Skye. Skye calm down. What is going on? What's wrong?" He says to her. Worry is clear on his face. He looks desperate to help her but knows he can't. I can't help but feel sorta bad for the guy.

My father drops to his knees in front of her. Shaking her shoulder trying to wake her up. Her eyes are closed tightly and she's thrashing around trying to get away from something not there. Fowler still tries to hold her down and calm her. My mother let's out a small noise and I jerk my head towards her. Her eyes are clouded and she's moving her stele across the air. We all hold our breath as my mother walks towards Skye and draws a rune on her forearm.

Almost immediately Skye collapses onto Fowlers lap. He immediately scoops her up holding her close to his body. She seems at peace now.

"Honey, what rune is that?" My father says quietly.

She lets out a shaky breath. "I... I don't know. I... I'm so sorry. I saw it and felt so calmed. I though it would work. What's happened to her?"

"Clary, it's fine I'm sure it worked. Fowler take her to her room. No funny business you hear me? Lay her on her bed and leave right away." My father says.

He really has never minded showing his disliking for Fowler.

"Jace leave the boy alone. It'll be fine. Fowler make sure she's okay. If she wakes up keep her calm. Magnus we need to talk." My mother says going back to her normal self. Honestly it's a big relief. Her acting the way she was was scaring me.

Fowler simply nods. Who he nodded at I'm not sure. "I understand sir no funny business. And I will be sure she's okay ma'am." He says awfully formally. I had forgotten he was like that around my parents.

Fowler walks out with Skye in his arms. My mother glares at my father.

"Jace." She says in a deadly tone.

My father smirks a little. "Clary." He says in the same tone.

My mother pulls one of her glares on him and he visibly pales. It takes all of my willpower not to laugh hysterically. Nothing ever seemed to scare my father besides my mother.

"Jace it's obvious Fowler likes her. You will need to learn to except him and not judge him by his parents actions. He wasn't even alive when his parents..." She sighs. "Please just give him a chance. He makes Skye so happy." After she says this visibly pale.

What have his parents done that is so bad? I stalk out of the room and to Skye's. When I walk in Fowler is sitting on her desk chair staring at Skye's small form on top of the bed. I grab him by the collar of his shirt and pull him out of the room into that hallway.

"We need to have a little talk." I practically growl out.

"Wh... wh... what's going on. What did I d... do. I'm really sorry for whatever it is... just... please don't hurt me." He says quietly. I ignore him and continue on with what I wanted to find out.

"What did your parents do to make my father hate you so much. What are you hiding huh?"

He starts to shake. "Look whatever you think happened I wasn't part of it. My parents were not good people okay. But that doesn't mean that I'm like them."

I glare at him. "What. Did. They. Do." I yell at him.

He pales. "Okay. Okay I'll tell you. My parents were terrible people and they might've helped bring Jonathan Morgenstern back to life." He rushes out. All I see is red. I raise a fist and start to punch him wildly.  He screams and tries to defend himself. He even gets in a few good punches but it's not enough I keep pummeling him running on pure rage and adrenaline until I'm yanked away quickly.

My mother rushes foreword towards Fowler who is laying on the ground nearly unconscious. My father doesn't let go of his hold on my collar and looks down at me.

"Damian. What was that all about?" He says in a deadly tone.

I shrug my shoulders. "I don't really know father. I'm sorry." I say barely above a whisper.

He shakes his head and points to the door of my room. I nod and walk in and sit on my bed. I hear Fowler's cries of pain, which are muffled through the door, as my mother heals him. I actually feel kind of bad for beating him up. I grab my stele from my bedside table and draw an iratze on my knuckles barely noticing the pinch of it healing my split skin.

I hope I didn't cause too much damage to Fowler. I also hope Skye doesn't find out about this. Though I'm doubting she won't. When she finds out I'll be in for it. She will be so mad at me.

After my mother heals Fowler they both walk into my room. It looks like Fowler doesn't really want to be here as he's fidgeting with his shirt but my mother has a death grip on his arm.

She glares at me. "I think you owe him an apology Damian."

Fowler starts to fidget more. "I... I don't think it's really necessary. I mean I'm fine now Mrs. Herondale. Really."

She turns her icy glare to him. "What Damian did was wrong and he owes you an apology Fowler. Then you can go back to Skye." His face is still pale and he's visible tense but at the mention of Skye he relaxes a little.

I turn to Fowler. "Its fine. She's right. I shouldn't have done that at all. I took things way too far. I'm really sorry Fowler." He looks up at me surprised. Probably at how civil I'm being.

Fowler just nods and walks quickly out the door and across the hall. I follow after him and walk into Skye's room. Fowler sits next to her bed waiting for her to wake up. He gently strokes her face and whispers in her ear. The look on his face is so gentle. You can really tell he cares for her a lot.

I'm trying to look at him differently. I know he really cares for Skye. I walk slowly up to him. He tenses. Obviously knowing I'm there.

"If your going to beat me up or yell at me can we take it outside? Skye doesn't need to see that if she wakes up." He says softly. His tone is bitter. I guess I deserve it though.

"No I don't want to do any of that. I just want to talk." I reply while sitting next to him.

He nods hesitantly. "Look Fowler. I know you like my sister," I start. "Its obvious. And it's also obvious she likes you as well. I'm sorry I've been a jerk to you lately. I just... I just want what's best for Skye and it took me until now to realize what's best for her is you."

He doesn't say anything at all. Just looks down at Skye and brushes the hair away from her face. "Thank you Damian. I really appreciate your apology. I just hope Skye wakes up soon." Fowler says still not looking up from Skye.

I nod. "Me too."

I'm really sorry I haven't updated in ages. I just kinda gave up on writing for a while. Hopefully I'm back in the game for good.
