"Jacqueline, Jacqueline! Wake up,"a voice from downstairs yelled.

I groaned. " One more minute! Okay?" I placed my pillow on my head. It was a Monday morning, the birds were chirping their morning duet while the neighbor's dog barked continuously. Everything was absolutely normal, thank you very much!

Oh, my apologies! I almost forgot to introduce myself! My name's Jacqueline, Jacqueline Arcain and I'm 17. My friends call me 'Jacquey' and although I find it weird, I'm fond of it too. It's short and simple. Nice, huh?

As I began to fall to sleep, I heard deafening foot steps stomping up towards my room. I twitched as I gripped my pillow harder.

"Jacqueline! How many times do I have to remind you that you need to wake up extra early on Monday's, "my mom grunted. My mom was called Kathrine and she was rather glamorous and flashy unlike me. She had beautiful raven hair and a eyes that seemed to sparkle in different colours. I never really understood the chemistry behind her colourful eyes.

" But I'm tired! Just let me sleep for another-,"I whispered as I curled up into a ball.

" Jacqueline,"my mom rasped. "You know Eric was nice enough to agree to drive you to school on Mondays! "

Eric. I frowned. Eric was the smartest person in grade 10. He would always beat me in every subject by 0.1%, but science and french. But that wasn't the point, he would always wave his perfect report card in my face while he laughed at my report card with a 0.1% average lower than his.

"I'm tired," I whined. " Just more one wink of sleep and-"

" Nope! Miss Arcain, you are getting up this instant,"my mom grabbed my soft, comforting blanket and pulled it off my bed.

I shivered, "Alright, alright! What time is it?"

" It's 6 am,"my mom replied as she closed the door.

" What? You woke me up 1 hour early,"I said in surprise.

I sighed as I looked for my school uniform. My uniform was white with a sky blue collar, simple but pretty in my opinion. As I began to tie my hair into a pony tail, I thought of my life for a moment until my thoughts were shattered my mom's loud voice.

"Are you done yet, Jacqueline,"my mom growled.

" Almost,"I said as I stuffed my textbooks into my bag.

"Hurry up!"

" I'm trying!"

" Well, you aren't trying hard enough! "

Quickly, I grabbed my bag and ran downstairs. The smell of coffee and fried eggs filled the kitchen. It was a fairly pleasant smell.

" I'm here,"I said as I took a plate of scrambled eggs and bacon.

" Good, now eat up,"my mom smiled.

Not long after, the sound of a car beeping could be heard.

Beep, beep, beep!

I groaned and looked at my watch. 6:30 am. Of course, Eric was always the first one to arrive at school.

" Jacqueline, "the mom yelled.

" Yeah, coming,"I yelled back the best I could with food in my mouth.

Not long after, I was carpooling with Eric. Eric's butler drove the car, no calling it a car would be an understatement. It was the newest Ferrari!

" So, did you finish yesterday's math homework, "I asked, desperately trying to break the ice.

" Duh,"Eric rolled his eyes as if it were so obvious that he finished his work.

" Of course, "I mumbled. That guy had such a big ego! I bet if he decided that tabby kittens were ghosts, he wouldn't give up no matter what.

" What?"Eric shot me a glare. It was like he could read my mind.

" Nothing,"I smiled gingerly.

Eric pursed his lips, " Good."

After 5 minutes of awkwardness, I took a deep breath and stepped out of the car. "Finally," I thought as I happily walked towards the school's entrance. First period was science. I smiled.

Oh, I should probably tell you why I love science so much, shouldn't I? Don't worry, I'm not some science nerd, believe me, I'm definitely not a nerd!

10 years ago------

It was a normal afternoon all over the world, everyone was doing their regular things. As dusk fell, the sky turned black. Not pitch black, just plain black.

A bright object from space that illuminated the night sky flew over the cities across the Earth.

"Oh my goodness, it's an airplane..no, it's an star...no, it must be a meteorite,"some of the peopleshrieked as they stared at the object.

Me? I was at home watching t.v when suddenly, my dad changed the channel.

" Awww! I want to watch-,"I whined.

"Sorry dear! Must follow the latest news! You know me, I have to know what's up,"my dad chuckled.

I frowned. How could anything be better than what I was watching? Nevertheless, I agreed and my dad continued to wait the daily news.

"Hello everyone, I'm reporting love on SBS news. I'm Katie. It seems like-,"the t.v lady reported.

I rolled my eyes. "The usual,"I thought. "Nothing special!" As I continued to watch the absolutely boring news, I yawned.

"Oh, honey, is it really this boring for you,"my dad chuckled.

I nodded."Yes, in fact-"

I couldn't continue my sentence. What I saw on the t.v was no longer some lady talking about the latest gossips, it was a small, yes, a definitely small meteorite. The meteorite seemed to glow with the colours of the rainbow. It was so mesmerizing, I couldn't keep my eyes from staring at the t.v.

"Whoa," was the only thing I could say. Even my mom had stopped to see what was going on.

"Oh my-"

"Mommy,"I broke into her sentence."I want one of those shiny rocks!"

"Dear, you can't buy that.....,"my mom was lost in a trance as I gave her my best puppy face.

Back to Reality-----

"Jacqueline, what are you doing,"Eric shot me an incredulous look.

I blinked,"Uh, nothing! Mind you own business, would you?"

"Whatever,"Eric said as he gave me an awfully evil smirk.

"The nerve of him,"I mumbled under my breath as I opened my locker.
