We meet again.
Meira sighed as she walked down the hallways of the palace. She understood the need to learn of all the cultures of her galaxy, but it could truly be a grueling task. She looked at the puffy traditional garments that she was wearing, the colours were all bright and vibrant. She looked like a jester. She listened closely as she rounded the corner, she could hear Napa snoring loudly and Raditz was training new recruits. She shook her head knowing that he only took up that role because he could use it as an excuse to beat up younger saiyans. Excellent, no one would see her in this attire. She bolted toward her quarters but was stopped by her sister's voice singing. She always loved the sound of Sheira's voice when she sang, she walked slowly towards it into the garden just outside of the 8's windows. She heard it grow louder, her heart raced at the sound. She had only heard her sister sing a few times, she wondered what was special enough to make her sing in broad daylight,
"Look who finally has time to come see me," Sheira said as she sat on a bench looking over the forest that covered the back part of the castle. The brightly coloured flowers and silvery water bodies in between made the landscape breathtaking.
"Surely, you know that our duties are not to be taken lightly," Meira said crossing her arms after removing feathers from her hair,
"Of course, I do. After all, I was the one who taught you to take it so seriously," Sheira chuckled,
"Where are the others?" Meira asked, watching Shiera's tail move slowly from side to side,
"Doing what they each love most," Sheira shrugged, she had always been so non-chalant in her spare time,
"And I suppose this is what you love doing the most?" Meira asked, taking a step closer,
"How could it not be?" Sheira asked looking after her shoulder and smiling,
"The times have changed and it's for the best that we do what makes us happy. We are a warrior race, and fighting will always be our first instinct, but what we do in between is completely up to us. I always loved this view, when I could not see it in person I would close my eyes and imagine it." Sheira continued, as they they watched as the large flowering tree's petals flew wherever the wind would take them,
"And I love singing, so it is what I will do,"
"But you barely ever do it, you said that you refused to entertain them," Meira said before she could catch herself, she saw Sheira's back stiffen but then relax again,
"No one is here to hear it," Sheira shrugged again, Meira was about to ask something but was cut off by the sight of two of her other sisters sparring with smirks on their faces. Their fight was silent as they attacked one another, their speed far more impressive than how she last remembered it.
"Beena and Cabba, are at it again?" Meira asked taking a seat next to Sheila, not taking her eyes off of their fast movements, a smirk of excitement grew on her face as well,
"But of course, it is what they love after all. They have gotten so much stronger," Sheira said, sounding proud, as they watched the younger Saiyan women. Sheira was the oldest and more like a mother to them all. She raised each of them and taught them all she could until they ventured on their own pursuit of knowledge and strength. None of them were actually related but Shiera had raised them all to love and protect each other as family. They all grew in strength together. Meira owed a lot to them all, but especially Sheira, she was who she was because of her,
"They are stronger but I think I could give them a few notes," Meira said playfully, leaning on her knees with her elbows,
"Well we aren't all legendary super Saiyans like you," Cauri said as she walked into the garden, holding a paintbrush, covered in paint, from head to toe,
"What on Earth happened to yo-" Meira caught herself. Earth. Trunks. Her heart dropped, that could have been a dream, he was real. He was right there. They fought a real fight, and she felt his strength...but if that is true... how is she here? On planet Vegeta?
She looked at Sheira and from the front for the first time, she could see a small bundle in her arms...a baby...Meira's mind flashed to all their bodies, at the bottom of their empty tanks, her breath caught in her throat as her hand went up to her mouth.
"So you finally realized what's happening," Sheira said, sadness evident in her voice. Meira's eyes did not leave the baby, whose pointy hair was sticking out of the blanket,
"He looks just like Kakarot," Meira said, her voice sounded somehow detached from the emotions she was feeling,
"Well they are family so I would expect him to," Sheira said chuckling at Meira's shock. Before Meira could even control it, her eyes started to fill with tears.
"Shhhh," Shiera hushed her and moved closer to her, wrapping a comforting arm around her.
"Y-You-" Meira struggled to talk between her sobs, which caught the pair in front of them's attention as well. Cauri, Beena, and Cabba walked closer to their crying sister.
"Damnit Meira, how are we supposed to surprise attack you, when you are so beside yourself?" a voice teased her. Another pair of Saiyan females snickered as they climbed down the tree near them. They were closer to Meira in age and the closest to her in power levels as well. They always made it a point to attack each other whenever they saw each other. They also had long hair like Miera, but they both had one side of it shaved short. That's when Meira realized that she knew where they all were based on their scent and hearing, she had not been able to sense their power levels that entire time. This made her cry even harder.
"L-Leeka...P-Pia," she cried, reaching out to them, their faces softened as they both took her by her hand and pulled her to them in a tight hug.
"Oh Meira, you were always such a crybaby," Pia teased as she stroked Meira's hair. Meira could not care less about their comments. Despite working in separate parts of the galaxy, she had never gone long without talking to them. The three of them were basically on the line with each other at all times. They were inseparable growing up. Meira could not even look at their bodies on the ship, she did not want to think about what life would be without them.
"You smell different, Meira," Leeka commented, which made her sister's all sniff the air. Sheira was the first to react by gasping loudly, it made her baby stir,
"You smell of Prince Vegeta?? Have the two of you finally mated?" Sheira asked, the other girls watched with confusion, Meira blushed, knowing exactly where the conversation was going,
"N-No," she smiled, her tears were finally slowing down,
"Prince Vegeta has sired a son," Meira whispered, but their Saiyan hearing picked up on it,
"He could not have you, so he made sure that his boy gets you?" Pia asked curiously,
"Please do not tell me that he ordered you to mate with his son," Cauri said, frowning,
"I-It's not like that... w-we... didn't..." Meira confessed which made them all gasp again,
"But you already carry his scent this strongly?" Leeka asked, as the pair finally let go of her, allowing her to be in full view again of her sisters, Meira suddenly wished that she was behind them again,
"You are a Pair?" Sheira observed as she put her baby in the bassinet next to her, this made her sister blush and smirk at her knowingly,
"I-I have the s-suspicion," Meira whispered again, avoiding eye contact. She was confident in any other situation, but when her sisters were all looking at her teasingly, she did not know what to do with herself, she turned into a shy mess. Only they got to see that side of her.
"A Pair?" A new voice entered the torturous conversation,
"Chiva," Meira greeted the youngest of the group in the traditional Saiyan way, by lifting her arm to her chest, then pulled her into a hug and pinched her cheeks. She was kept a secret for many years on the ship, she was known as the last full-blooded Saiyan, born. She was born after Frieza's ban on Saiyan's mating with each other. She was respected by all, as the symbol of a Saiyan's will, rebeliance, and hope. It was almost overwhelming to see her and Sheira's baby, both very renowned symbols in the Saiyan race. Meira's heart ached to see her here with her sisters, little Chiva was only 16 years old. Both of the Saiyan race's last symbols of hope are here in a place where the living should not roam. A morbid reality indeed.
"A Pair is two Saiyans whose bodies, minds, and souls were destined to be with one another," Sheira explained, to Chiva.
"It happens so rarely that it does not always get taught," Pia said,
"Go figure it would be Meira to get one," Cauri laughed crossing her arms,
"Indeed, the first Super Saiyan and now the first one that I have heard being a pair," Chiva said sounding so intrigued as she sat down on the grass in front of the rest of the group,
"What is he like?" she asked, leaning her cheek on her upturned palm, she had a small smile on her face, Meira looked at her sisters who were looking at her expectantly,
"He is... he is exactly the kind of person you would imagine a prince to be," Meira said, blushing as her sisters cooed and her remark,
"Is he strong?" Cauri asked, leaning in,
"Stronger than I am," Meira blushed, trying to fight the proud smile on her face as her sisters gasped,
"He is a Super Saiyan too?" Chiva asked, her eyes glittering at the thought,
"Apparently, on the planet where what is left of our race is, everyone is," Meira admitted, her sisters looked at her in shock,
"Does that mean that Kakarot and Prince Vegeta...?" Sheira asked, her eyes widened, as Meira nodded,
"They are far stronger than I am, they have been super Saiyans for years before I came into their lives," Meira said,
"You did not aid them into becoming Super Saiyans?" Beena asked, Meira shook her head.
The Saiyan females looked at each other as huge smiles crept onto their faces. Their lives' purposes were not in vain. The last of the remaining Saiyan were powerful, which was all they could ask for. Chiva looked curious,
"Do you think that they have transcended?" she asked while the rest of their sister cheered and shed happy tears,
"It is quite possible," Meira replied having not given it much thought,
"If they are all Super Saiyans, how old is the youngest of them?" Chiva continued,
"I believe that the youngest of the troop are two 19-year-olds, one being my destined," Meira whispered,
"N-Nineteen?" Chiva said shocked by how young the Super Saiyan warriors were,
"Damn Meira, you like 'em young!" Pia commented making the group laugh and Meira blush. Things like age never really mattered to Saiyans, especially when their numbers started to dwindle out. It did not matter as long as they were able to continue the race, it was their duty.
"Come on Pia, give the poor girl a break," Sheira giggled walking to the group,
"We would ask you to stay, but something tells me that nothing will keep you from going back to him," Chiva said,
"Do not worry Chiva, it is only for a little while, she will be back and we will have an eternity with her, we can share her while her heart still beats," Leeka said,
"You should not be worried about such things, he is your destined partner, and you should live your life well with him," Sheira said putting her hand on Meira's shoulder, her words had a certain sadness to them that made Meira realize that this was probably goodbye,
"You should do what you love, now that you are not the strongest anymore, it will be a while before you have to carry that mantle, find some hobbies," Cauri said as she put a paint-covered hand on her arm,
"But don't let it distract you from getting stronger,' Beena said, smirking at Meria as she put her hand on Meira's shoulder blade,
"Wage war on your plein, just as we will on ours. When we meet again, we will kick your tail," Cabba said playfully, as she put her hand on Meira's other shoulder blade,
"You should probably quit being such a crybaby," Pia said, her voice cracked as she bit back a sob wiping away the tears that were running down Meira's face, taking hold of Meira's hand,
"Have many children, only powerful offspring could be sired from a destined pairing," Leeka said, making Meira blush,
"But do not forget that you are living in a time where you can afford the luxury of love," she concluded, taking Meira's other hand with a teary smile,
"You are the new symbol of hope for the Saiyan race, carry it well. Please do not forget us, tell our stories, fight with all of our conviction." Chiva said placing her hands on Meira's stomach,
"I wish we could follow, " Chiva whispered her eyes glazed over with unshed tears, making Meira's legs buckle as she sobbed once again,
"You all had so much life ahead of you," she cried,
"Shhh Meira, our lives' ambitions have been realized, the last of our race is strong enough to defend themselves without us, and the royal bloodline has lived on and has increased in numbers. You are destined to be with the Saiyan race's heir, I cannot imagine a better position for a protector to be in than the mother of the very cubs, she is meant to protect. We are at peace, live your life to the fullest and we will meet again," Sheira comforted her.
Her sisters' hands all started to glow they all stood closer to embrace her, they all smiled genuinely at her and nodded their goodbyes as the warm light enveloped her.
"Until we meet again,"
