Swirls of ocean threw themselves at the ship and the Fauna girl glared at the horizon in the distance. She had suffered being on board a stuffy cramped and shoddy ship for two weeks. She had the cabin all to herself thanks to her mother's suspicious connection to the captain, but she already missed her tropical home that was filled with brightly colored birds and shaded by enormous palms.

The ship smelt like sweat, salt, and rum. She couldn't be sure why anyone would choose to be a sailor, but then again she hadn't seen any of her own kind as part of a crew so maybe humans and Elldeon didn't have a sense of smell.

"Excited about being on the mainland soon?" Captian Julius was a middle-aged man well-built man, he had shaggy blonde hair a scar across his face that he often bragged about getting defending the honor of a Fauna Queen. It had actually been a fauna huntress who had been on the election poll and was soon to be chief of one of the tribes in the Cresent Islands, but these details never came to surface with this man.

"I'm sort of being thrown there against my will." She replied forcing a laugh.

"Nonsense princess, you'll be fine! Your training to be an adventurer, what an honor!"

Adventurer was a cute little term for someone who would be trained to hunt down and kill monsters and enemies that threatened the four people their world Serv. Sirina had no idea why she had been selected except that she had a suspicion it had something to do with the embarrassing scene she had caused the year before. This was punishment, not an honor.

"You really shouldn't call me princess, my mothers a chief, not a queen."

"Its the same damn thing kitten ."

"...if you say so..." Humans had no sense to the fauna girl.

The entire ship was now a mess of insanity as everyone prepared to dock. The land seemed to give them all new spirit, and the city of Zett was famous around the world. As it came to view Sirina swished her tail nervously and felt her ears twitch, even from as far as they were she felt that the air was different and it made her heart flutter. This was Zett, the capital of Uscea and the place in the world where all the races gathered, all the gods were worshiped and all its people under one flag.

To Sirina this world was one of fairy tales. She had been raised in a village in the jungle on the island of Linux, following the laws and culture of her tribe. She had only seen the world of the fauna so far. Only seen a handful of humans who traded with the Islands, she remembered catching sight a beautiful woman with the pointed ears of an elldeon once and had no clue if the Rodean existed for certain.

"You'll need a map for this city you know, even the people who live in it get lost. Some people call Zett a country of its own." Captian Julius smiled looking out to the land past the other ships coming in and out of the harbor. The sound of seagulls screaming was becoming louder by the moment.

"Maps are expensive." Sirina shrugged her shoulders as if she had the situation covered, even if it could have been further from the truth.

" Not when there a gift." He pulled a paper from his belt and began un-folding it. Sirina watched curiously as he tapped his finger on a rough looking copy of a map. The handwriting was much too bad for it to be by a map maker.

"You've been a pleasure on this ship Sirina Minux, I made a copy of my city map for you, just don't let it get wet, its just an ink and paper copy after all. "

"Thank you, Captain."

"A pretty little thing like you should be careful not to get lost, If you were a human girl you would be in danger alone in this city, but with the cute fauna ears and tail, it's even more dangerous. " Sirina ignored Julius she knew he had some weird fetish.

"Why would I be in more danger of being Fauna?"

"Most citizens of Zett are human. They're a great many humans who don't treat Fauna well because of Ignorance. Then there're other humans that are perverts and like fauna women more than human women. "

"Are you one of those? I saw how you looked at my mother." Sirina said in a low voice giving him the evil eye.

Coughing with a red face there was a big grin on the man's face.

" There's also a lot of fauna who like humans! " He proclaimed trying to defend himself. " You just be careful Sirina ."

"What about the elldeon and rodean? "

"Trust me you won't have to worry about them, they're each others problem." He said hugging her goodbye. It was time to begin her new life and prove to her mother she wasn't a failure as a daughter.
