The wolf lay on the ground. Her long fur bristled as the cold breeze went passed her. The strong beast got up and walked to her pack leader. "Dolph." 

Dolph, the pack leader, stood up to look taller. "Those mutts have got away . . . we will get them!" He growled. 

The female wolf smiled. "Yea."

"Ice, make sure the mutts come near our trap!" Dolph ordered.

ice, the female wolf, nodded. She padded to the edge of the territory, as she spotted Wretch, beta of the pack, sitting near the trap, but out of sight. "Hi Wretch" Ice said.

Wretch turned to Ice. "Hi, ice." He smiled. "The trap will work, as long as we hide out scent. We will be eating dog tonight!" He howled happily. 

"Yea . ." Ice didn't finish. A bit of unease ran through her. This pack . . . She thought.

"Whats wrong, Ice?" Wretch asked. "It will work. the snow will hide our scent and you should be happy!"

Ice said nothing. She sat down, sighed, and wrapped her tail around herself. She was part of this pack; she should be happy, but she wasn't. She was a newly made member of the pack, and through the stories of the wolves trying to catch those dogs, the dogs they were talking about, seemed like an endless madness to her. 

"Ice I have to tell you something . . . "Wretch said.

Ice shook her head. "No, I hear something." A squirrel shot from under a bush and she ran after it and jumped on it and caught it. "Here Dolph will like this squirrel." 

"Yup," Wretch said.

Ice dropped the dead squirrel at Dolph's paws. "Here I got you something."

Dolph smiled. "Thanks but I was looking forward to dog. But still this will do" He said.

"Your wecome." Ice padded to Wretch who was still sitting down. "Hello."

Wretch smiled. "Did Dolph like it?" He asked.

"yes." Ice couldn't hide her embaressment. Ice padded past Wretch. 

"Umm...Where are you going?" Wretch asked Ice.

"Stay here," Ice ordered. She padded through the icy forest. Then she saw a movement...a dog came into view, but it was only one....it was alone, and yet she knew who it was; Rocky.
