Midoriya woke up with all his body hurting him. The pain killers the nurses gave him had probably wear off. His eyes were heavier than usual and he was fighting not to go back to sleep. Slowly opening his eyes, Midoriya noticed a card and flowers on the table to his right side. The chairs that his mom and Todoroki have been sitting on were empty, meaning they were elsewhere. Midoriya reached for the card, assuming that it was for him, obviously. He slowly opened it, not knowing who it was from yet. Not even half way through the card, Midoriya was sobbing. All his friends and classmates had wrote him a note in inside the card.

« Were missing you so much Deku. I hope it's going fine with Todoroki, I'm sure he's taking well care of you. We can't wait to see you once you'll get out of the hospital, we hope you get better soon.

« We heard about your state, I hope you get better soon. We are still waiting for you and I care for your well being. I'm the class president after all.

« You better not fucking die on me, Deku. And if you think you can just get away with it, I'll make you regret it and kill you a second time!! Were waiting for you....So deal with it.

Midoriya was trying to wipe the tears, his eyes so watery he couldn't read anymore.

"I'm sorry everyone. I'm so sorry" Midoriya whispered between sobs, now finishing the rest of the card. Everyone had written a little something.

Midoriya stared at the card for a little bit before putting it back on the small table, his eyes suddenly noticing a bag of small oats cookies and a strawberry milk carton.

" Guess he did buy me a snack " Said Midoriya out loud, a weak smile on his face. He reached for the milk first, the carton was still kind of cold, meaning he haven't been out for that long. But also meaning he missed his friends when they came to give him the card, which made Midoriya upset. " Will I even get the time to see them before I..... " Midoriya shook his head. " I shouldn't be thinking like this. Of course I'll see them!" He thought to himself.

The green haired boy started to drink the sweet flavored milk his friend have brought him earlier. It was soft and sweet, as expected, but because he haven't been eating properly in the past days, due to his state, the milk felt like a liquid straight from heaven. Strawberry definitely wasn't his favorite, but at that moment, it definitely was.

Todoroki entered the room followed by izuku's mother. The two of them smiled when they realized Midoriya was awake.

"I read the card, are they still around..?" Asked Izuku

"They left a bit earlier. " Responded Todoroki

" I see....How long as I being out for? "

" Maybe 2 hours. "

"I see...I'm sorry about it. I just feel so tired all the time...I wish I could stay awake and do so much more "

" I don't mind at all. " responded Todoroki was with concerns in his eyes. "I'll leave you with your mother for a bit, you need some time with her right? I'll be back soon, but I got to go home for the night. Only tonight. I promise i'll be back by morning okay?"

"Don't worry! It's alright Todoroki! You're taking so much of your time to spend with me already...I'll see you tomorrow! " Said deku with a soft smile on his face

" Alright, I'll see you tomorrow. Take care. " Todoroki said while leaving and nodding goodbye to Izuku's mother.

The next day

"I'm happy I got to spend the night with you" Softly said Midoriya to his mother sleeping next to him, in her chair

She couldn't bring herself to leave the boy at the hospital alone, even just for the night.They had already transferred room, which was great for them and way more comfortable. Izuku had now a proper bed, a TV and some items of choice they offered him the day before. Izuku had chosen a gaming console to pass time and a deck of card to play with his mother. The sun was slowly rising as Izuku fell back asleep. It was approximately 8am when Izuku heard a knock on the door, he woke up abruptly.

"Yes?" He said out loud, making his mother wake up too.

"Hi" Said a nurse coming in. "I'll be your assigned nurse for the time you will be staying here, happy to meet you Midoriya"

"H-hi! Nice to meet you too." He said, shyly

"Great, I'll bring you breakfast in around an hour, is that good with you? "

"Yes it is! Thank you so much!"

The nurse the  left, leaving the two alone for a while. They played cards and had a chat, following by watching a bit of tv. The nurse then came by a while after, giving Midoriya his food.
He was feeling weak, and even the sight of this food was grossing him out...He gave the orange to his mother, who happily took it. His mother though, was eating it anxiously, thinking about how his boy had got so tinny...Weak and pale...Not being able to do anything about it either, was breaking her. They spent the day together, until Todoroki came knocking on the door.

"I'll take care of him for the night, you should go home and get some rest." Offered Shoto to the mother.
"Shouldn't I stay..? Isnt it my purpose as a mother..If I can't even be here for him I-I.."

"It's okay. It's gonna be okay, I'll be with him. You did so much already, you're a good mother...You can allow yourself some rest, do it for him...He's worried about you too, you know?"  He said calmly, trying to ease her some pain.

"Okay...I will....I'll be back in the morning....Take care of him, please." She said, with a desperate  look in her eyes.

"I will. He's in good hands."

"Okay...." She looked at Izuku with a soft smile and tears in her eyes. "I love you, see you in the morning" She looked back at Todoroki and continued:  "If there's anything, call me"

"Will do."

She then proceeded to leave them, still unsure if she should've had.

"Hey, how are you feeling right now?" Said Todoroki happy to see his friend, who was now his lover.

"Not so great...But yknow...The medication are helping the pain...I just feel a bit useless..." He murmured, looking at his hands.

"Hey....It's okay...Don't say that...You're not useless, you're doing your best." Todoroki said, walking to the boy's bed and sitting on the side

"I know...I just can't help it.."

Silence

"..."

"...."

"What would you do?"

"What?" Said Midoriya confuse

"What would you do...If you could do something again?" Asked Todoroki, with a calm face and love in his eyes

"Mmmm...."

Todoroki wanted to do something for his friend, for his lover. Something special, something that would cheer his friend up. Helping him not feeling useless or incomplete...

"I would dance."

"What?" Said Todoroki surprised

"I would dance." Repeated Midoriya. "It's so hard to walk you know...It feels like...Walking down the hall would end up crushing my bones....Everything hurts, I feel so weak....My body can't take that much anymore and....Well...Dancing is such a free and liberating thing you know? And I failed to see it earlier. I regret not doing a lot of things, but my biggest regret is that I didn't enjoy the simple things as I should've had."

"I see...." Todoroki sad look turning into hope and he smiled at the boy. "I'll be back"

"T-Todoroki? Where are you goin-"

But Shoto was already gone.

It felt like it had been forever, the sun was setting.

"Did he....Leave?" Midoriya felt horrible. "Did I say something stupid...? Why did he leave so abruptly...It's been 2hrs..." Midoriya looked outside, feeling melancholic.

The door the suddenly opened up. It was todoroki, holding a record player.

"Y-you're back! What are you...Holding?" He asked confused about the situation

"Just wait a second. Give me a second." Todoroki said walking closer to the bed, still holding the heavy record player and carefully putting it on the night table next to the other boy.

"What is this for?"

"This." Todoroki sais with sparkles in his eyes.

Shoto unzipped his backpack to reveal a bunch of record disks. Looked at them and kept one, putting a couple of them back. He walked to the small table and proceeded to carefully install the disk into the player and placing the small needle on the disk.

*She Got You by Patsy Cline starts playing* ( Listen to it while reading for extra effect )

" Hold my hand." Asked Todoroki, handing his hand to him.

"W-wha..Okay.." Chuckled Midoriya, listening to what the boy said.

"I'll help you get up." Said Todoroki, trying get him out of the bed

"B-but you know it hurts..."

"Trust me." He said with a soft smile

"Okay..."

Midoriya, hurting, managed to get out of the bed.

"Let's dance." Said Todoroki, bowing like a gentleman.

"Todoroki...You know I can't...Best I can do is standing...I know you want to help my moral but-" Midoriya couldnt finish his sentence because Todoroki was already putting the other one feet on his own. "What are you doing??" chuckled Midoriya, confuse.

"Trust me, we can dance, you don't have to walk, I'll do it." He said looking at the boy straight in the eyes.

Midoriya laugh at the his friend's creativity. Todoroki started to slowly dance, like a waltz.
Izuku struggled to follow his flow at the beginning, but got the hang of it, Todoroki doing most of the job in the end anyways.

"...Thank you... I really needed this..." Said Izuku, tears in his eyes.

"It's nothing....I'm happy if you're happy."

"...." Midoriya smiled, with tears rolling across his face. His face on Todoroki's chest. You could see the sun setting from across the window, letting the golden light enter the room. "I love you with all my heart."

"Me too." Todoroki said looking down as Midoriya looked up.
They looked at eachother for a moment, studying eachother's traits...The eyes...Every details, knowing they wouldn't be able to see the other one like this forever.... Todoroki started to lean towards his boyfriend, gently pressing his lips against the boy.

They spent the rest of the night cuddling in izuku's bed. Talking about school and memories, like the night would never end.

Todoroki woke up with Midoriya, cuddling him, face in his chest. Shoto smiled and kissed the boy on the forehead, happy to be with the boy. "Good morning,sunshine..." He softly said to wake up the boy. But he didn't.

"Midoriya..?"

But the boy didn't respond

"...." Todoroki couldn't move, looking at the face of his friend...Pale, calm....Lifeless.
Tears started going down his face, he tried to say something, but nothing was coming out. Just a soundless cry, which was getting heavier.

"I'm so sorry baby...." He whispered to the boy, hugging him as thigh as possible, knowing in his heart it would be the last time.

"I'm happy you were there for him. Thank you. He was happy, and that's all that matter." Said Izuku's mom, holding Todoroki's hand.

Shoto nodded respectfully, thanking the mom for her kindness towards him.

The other students, who also attended the funeral, tried catching up to him. But he wasn't in a state of mind for kind words and left the reception early and went back home. He sat on his bed, with an empty look in his eyes.

"I'll forever miss you." He simply said, covered in tears. While the last song they heard together, was going on loop in his head, as he wished he could offer him one last dance.
