Phil was silent, as he watched his brother.

Finally, after several minutes, Robert continued.

"I've had dreams before about making love, but they were always strange and unrealistic in many ways."

He turned to Phil.

"It was nothing like this. I've made love to many women, but it was nothing like what I had with Vickie. It was never so strong, so tender, so amazing.

You don't dream love, Phil. You can't dream love. Love is something you feel. You don't dream feelings."

Robert pushed his long hair over his shoulders.

"I was with her Phil. I was back in 1961. I was with her.

She helps me and she trusted me, enough to keep my true identity from everyone else. She cared about me. She loved me.

She loved me enough to go against all she stood for, to give up her most prized possession, just to be with me. Just to show me how much she loved me."

Robert took a deep breath and wiped his eyes.

"She loved me Phil. I mean, she really loved me. And I loved her. More than I have ever loved any woman before.

I thought I knew love, Phil. A couple times I thought I was in love. Really in love. But, in reality, I didn't even know what love was. Until I met Vickie."

Robert shook his head.

"You can't dream that, Phil. You just can't."

Robert began crying again and for the first time since he had started talking, Phil, stood up and hugged his brother.

"She is out there somewhere, Phil. She is. And I am going to find her.

She might be eleven or twelve years older than me, but I don't care. I know she is out there. I feel it."

Robert sat back up and wiped his eyes.

"And I feel that she still loves me. I know I still love her. I really do."

He looked at his brother.

"You do believe me, don't you, Phil?"

Phil took a deep breath and nodded. He could do no more, for he knew that if he tried to speak, he too, would have started crying.

"I am going to find her, Phil. I am."

Phil nodded and hugged his brother again.

Time has a way of changing things and as the weeks went by, Robert's dream of finding Vickie became less and less of a reality. He began to realize that the battle was a futile one.

He had no idea of where she was. Her family no longer lived near Gideon Lake.

He had no idea of what her name was. She could have married and changed her last name and trying to track down all the Vickies in Canada would certainly be an impossible task.

And a final sad reality sunk in. There was no guarantee that his Vickie was even still alive.

The Knights returned to the studio six months after Robert's accident.

As was always the case with the Knights writing sessions, they were serious, emotional and out letting. As the sessions became more intense, Robert's search became less. The band needed his attention in the studio and Robert was not one to let his bandmates down.

The flames were slowly dying, but the memory remained in Robert's heart.
