8. Nothing is Wrong with Peter

Alex Shmood POV

"Nothing's wrong with Peter," Captain assured me flatly. "But... Well..."

"Are you able to face your kidnapper?" Natasha continued for him. "You won't kill him or anything? Are you emotionally stable?"

I began to sob with the relief of knowing Peter was fine. Tears began streaming down my face.

Then I started using this little thing called a brain.

"My KIDNAPPER!?! You can't go to him! Don't do it! Just...!" I couldn't think of the right words at the time being.

"He kidnapped you!" Tony cried. "He committed a crime and has possibly hurt you. This guy, Perseus Jackson, is a criminal. And he's had a bit of a sketchy past; kidnapped around your age and caught in a gunfight. He's been seen blowing up things. You know, that kinda stuff."

"Don't go to him!" I shouted. "Don't hurt him! Don't talk to him!! I swear, if you lay a finger on him..."

Oh Lord, help me!

Steve Rogers POV

Hearing her cry in her traumatic state broke my heart. Suddenly, I realized she had gone through much more than I had imagined. I thought she had been flown away to some place, punched a guy, stayed at a motel, and then flew back the next morning. I never thought she would lie about the kidnapper's actions. My mind flew wildly as I tried to decide what happened the night of her disappearance. Now, I was overwhelmed with pity and guilt.

"Alex!" I interrupted with gentleness and caution etching my voice. "I understand you're scared. But you have to let us deal with this bad man. We'll protect you, I swear. We'll make sure you're safe and unharmed. Nobody will hurt--"

"OH MY GOD!!!" she continued. "Please listen to me! He's not-- I can't explain! Just trust me on this! You need to leave him be!!"

Bruce came in at the right moment. I gave him the 'Help us!' look, and with one glance at Alex, he disappeared back into the tower, probably to find something to calm her down, like ice cream.

Soon, Alex had an audience consisting of most of the Avengers. They were very confused Avengers.

"Please, please!" Bruce walked toward Alex and rested a hand on her shoulder. "Its okay! Calm down..."

"Don't you dare tell me to calm down! You aren't listening to me! You have to keep away from Percy! He's not bad! He's just--"

Doctor Strange and the Vision held her by the shoulders and tried to escort her back inside.

"Maybe if we watched some Sherlock..." Strange suggested.

"Maybe if you stick your stupidly glorious face where the sun doesn't shine!" Alex waved her finger in his face and then pulled his fingers off her shiny suit's shoulder. "You will not touch Percy!"

She tried to storm into the helicopter, but several people held her back.

"Get off me, you idiotic...! Ugh!"

She fought back, punching, clawing, and mostly screaming inappropriate insults. Finally, when she tried and successfully punched Thor in the nose, Bruce pulled out a syringe needle from his jacket pocket and stuck it through her suit and into her shoulder. She crumpled to the ground like a ragdoll.

"We should get her into bed," I said. "And Bruce, you and... Strange can keep her company. Tony, Thor, Natasha, Clint, Wanda, and Thor will accompany me to find Perseus Jackson. The rest who are staying here should stay armed in case we need backup."

"Actually," Thor stepped forward and coughed. "I can't meet Perseus. There is some conflict between his kind and mine. I'll stay here and serf my favorite TV shows."

"Are you kidding me!?!" Tony scoffed at Thor. "This guy hurt Alex!" He gestured to her sleeping body lying in an uncomfortable position on the ground. "We need to take this guy down!"

"I suggest you listen to the girl," Thor said with a blank expression. "Perseus is not as he seems."

"This guy is really powerful if he can unease a powerful entity like yourself," I acknowledged.

'I'm a god, mortal," Thor sneered.

"God doesn't dress like that."

Before we could begin a cat fight, Vision separated us. Soon, Natasha, Tony, Clint, Wanda, and I were flying towards an apartment complex that was a short walk away. There wasn't even a need for a helicopter.

Soon, we'd be locking up Percy Jackson for his evil crimes.

Percy Jackson POV

"Percy, how'd you get blue on your nose!?!" My mother laughed. "Its all over your face! And you new shirt!!"

I shoved a spoonful of blue cookie batter into my mouth. Mom pushed the cookie pan into the pan and pulled off her oven mitts.

"This is why I don't let you help me bake," she playfully retorted. "You make a mess everywhere!"

I giggled. "Sorry."

Just then, a knock was on the door.

"I'll get it," my mom smiled warmly. She stepped out of the kitchen and opened the front door.

"Mrs. Jackson," a voice said. "Is your son Perseus here?"

"Why?" She asked suspiciously. "Is he in trouble?"

Silence.

"Where is he?" Another voice finally demanded with much more intensity. I reached for riptide in my pocket and prepared to uncap it.

"Is there a problem, mom?" I projected my best friendly smirk on my face and walked up to the door.

It was the Captain America and Iron Man.

Crap.

"Hello," I nodded politely. "I'm Percy. What's up?"

"We need to talk to you in private," the angry voice came from Iron Man.

"Why is that?" My eyes closed a fraction of an inch as if I were curious and confused.

"Don't play dumb with us," Iron Man hissed. "Come outside now."

"Forgive us," Captain America apologized to my mother. "I would be grateful if you would allow me to speak to your son. Its very important."

Five minutes later, I was outside giving the Avengers my worse death glare, and in return, Iron Man stared back and Captain America fidgeted uncomfortably.

"Cut straight to the chase and say what you came here to say," I demanded. "I know why you're here, but I'd like to here it from you."

"You kidnapped and abused our friend," Iron Man claimed. "You filthy little--"

"Tony!" Captain America cried. "Give the boy some time to say something."

I snickered. Their accusation was just so terribly incorrect and absurd that it was funny. "Sorry, but you're wrong. Alex and I settled our differences. In the end, she left on her own. She even left a note. Said she might come back to visit. In fact, when you get the chance, tell her my friends would love to see her again."

"Did you recruit her into some cult?" Captain questioned.

"Gods, no!" I laughed. "It was wrong for me to kidnap her, I admit, but I had to know something. I still don't know for sure and its killing me. But she decided to leave and it was her choice. If she didnt want to know about her biological father, I have to respect that. And just so you know, she did more of the abusing then we could ever do to her. She whooped our butts."

"Who are your friends?" Captain asked.

"None of your business," I shrugged. "They're good people though."

"If they are good people with nothing to hide, then it shouldn't hurt to give names," Tony Stank insisted.

"Just cause they are good doesn't mean they don't have something to hide," I crossed my arms, feeling a bit uneasy. "They didnt break the law or anything. They were just born. Now, for the sake of these people don't ask again."

Captain America looked confused. Iron Man attempted to scratch his nose, but ended up slamming his fingers into his mask.

"Do you guys want blue chocolate chip cookies?" I asked.

Tony Stark POV

Its one thing to meet the kidnapper of my foster baby. Its another for him to threaten me with blue cookies.

I eyed the cookie warily, expecting it to explode in my hand. I sat on the couch in Percy's living room.

As he bit into his cookie, he said, "Sorry I cant explain everything. You're probably dying to know, but you must understand these people I'm protecting are innocent. You came for me, so tell me what your plan was to do. Are you taking me away or distracting me so that guy hiding outside the window can assassinate me? I'd like to call my girlfriend if I'm about to die."

Clint appeared from outside the window and asked, "How'd you know I was here?"

"I saw the top of your head," Percy answered with a small shrug.

"He's their in case you don't cooperate," I sneered at Percy. "We want to take you into SHIELD for questioning."

"Of course you do," Percy shoved a cookie in his mouth. "You can question me here."

"But we have a lying detector thing at Shield," I insisted. "How will we know if you're telling the truth."

"Look," Percy observed the room to make sure his mother wasn't ease dropping. "I have a girlfriend. We really like each other. In fact, I'm hoping to propose to her when we get into college. My mom... I can't disappoint her. She's got a baby on the way. My step dad is hoping to get a promotion soon. I have so many people who count on me to help them. There are so many things in my future waiting. I have a chance to create a family, raise kids, and I didn't even think that was possible until very recently... I-- I wouldn't do anything to ruin that. And I would definitely never destroy the happiness of my Wise Girl by doing whatever you think I did."

We stared at him for a moment, unsure what to say.

"Have another cookie," he gestured to the blue bowl of blue cookies on the blue coffee table.

"If you're so good and innocent," I finally said. "You'll come for questioning. Maybe Alex would like to talk to you."

Steve gave me the 'No!' stare, but I ignored him. I was most definitely not letting Alex see this monster again. I just needed her as bait.

Percy kept silent for a few moments. "Fine."

A/N

Guys, I have a theory.

What if all the mutants were demigods or people blessed by the gods? And Dr. Strange is a Magician like Carter Kane? And Thor's hammer really does stream the internet? I mean, Scarlet Witch is obviously a child of Hecate! And Natasha is an ex-Amazon warrior/Hunter of Artemis.

Marvel should totally team with Percy Jackson in the movies. But a new Percy. Not the one from the movies. Gods no, not him.

Okay, bye!

Is there anything I can do to improve my writing skills?

I TAKE CRITICISM GLADLY! :)
