19. That Dang Evil Spirit...

Annabeth Chase POV

"DIANE?!!"

"Ugh," I grunted as some obnoxiously loud man continued to scream the same name over and over again. When he heard me making a noise, he stopped abruptly.

"Hello?" He asked. "Is that Diane?"

"No," I murmured, rubbing my aching head and sitting up. It was pitch black and the ground felt very leafy.

"Is this a forest?" The guy asked.

"I think so," I shrugged. "Who're you?"

"David," he said. "You?"

"Annabeth."

"Annabeth, like girl who dated Percy Jackson?" David asked. "I've heard a lot of talk about you and some seven from a prophesy at camp."

"Uh huh," I confirmed his suspicion. "You're a camper?"

"No," he answered. "Me, my girlfriend, and our newly resurrected friend came by for absolutely no reason. Can you help me find my girlfriend Diane?"

"Sure," I grunted. "Help me up. My friends are gone too."

He pulled me to my feet and we began to call for our friends.

"LEO? PIPER??! HAZEL? FRANK!?! JASON?!?!"

"DIANE!!!?"

"Helloo--" I tried to scream but tripped over something.

"Ugh," that something vomited all over me.

"Who're you?" The familiar voice muttered.

"JASON!" I cried with relief, wiping chunky stuff from my face. "Are you okay?"

"Who is talking to me?" He asked.

"Do you still remember me?" Suddenly, fear crept into my heart

"Annabeth, thank the gods!" Light flooded in as Apollo kids and Ares kids rushed to my aid.

Clarisse stared at me with a pitiful and relieved expression on her normally fierce and confident face. "We found everyone else, don't worry. But... We don't know if Leo will be okay."

Peter Parker POV

It had been a day since I was possessed by a mythological spirit and fainted in Ellis Island. I was honestly feeling like crap. And my Aunt May was probably really mad at me for not coming home yesterday.

I was grounded for life, I'm sure of that.

"So, did they find any clue of where your friends might be?" I asked Percy.

He had already explained every detail about the gods and demigods, and since SHIELD now had a document of Percy's life and camp, I felt it was okay to ask even more questions.

"Chiron called from camp," he shrugged. "Them and your friends, David and Diane, were found in the woods. Jason, Leo, and Hazel are severely injured."

"They'll make it?" I dared to question. He looked at me with a pained expression on his face.

"I don't know."

His answer left my heart feeling like it had been squeezed to dust by the Evil Queen. Alex had done this. She had caused this harm. And if we couldn't capture her, we'd have to kill her. It was the only way to save the millions of beings that were threatened by her very existence. The thought terrified me.

After a few minutes of silence, Percy asked, "Would you like me to call my mom and get her to take us home?"

I nodded.

"That's probably for the best," Tony walked in with swagger in his step. "Meet the team at Starbucks later today."

"There is literally a Starbucks on every single block here," Percy muttered.

"We'll meet you at that Starbucks across from Edison Hotel," I suggested. "Its right there next to Times Square, so if we feel like interrogating the Naked Cowboy, we can easily find him."

Five long seconds of silence erupted like a cold, eery storm.

"That was a joke," Percy finally realized with a laugh. "For a second I thought you were serious."

Tony blinked at me, spun around on his heels, and awkwardly walked away.

"He didnt even say goodbye," I poked my bottom lip out jokingly and followed Percy down the elevator and out of the building.

It was almost lunchtime when Percy and I arrived at his house. His home was a similar size to mine. And, by the looks of everything, his family had a similar financial state as mine as well. They at least seemed to manage their house a little better than I did. The floors were clean and there wasn't any clothes randomly strewn across the room.

They were definitely more clean than me. In fact, I was starting to feel embarrassed and slightly lazy because of the way I left the house.

"Mom," Percy said as Mrs Sally, him, and I walked around the house. "I want cookies!"

"No," Percy's mom answered with a laugh. "Ummmm... I know I should've asked you in the car, but what were you doing in Tony Stark's tower?"

"Nothing," Percy offered her a troublemaker's smirk. After being death stared at by his mom, he added, "Our friend is possessed and we we're out to find her, but... We're not the luckiest crew."

Mrs. Sally, satisfied with the answer, disappeared into her room and suddenly the house was quiet.

"Want a blue coca cola?" Percy asked. "They're really good, but if you want normal--"

Bang.

The loud thud echoed throughout the entire house and caused the earth to shudder underneath our feet.

"What was that?" I asked, my eyebrows furrowing.

Bang.

"Holy Hades," Percy cussed. She's not... She's this powerful?"

"Who?"

Bang.

"Alex!" Percy answered my stupid question.

"Oh."

Bang.

"Percy, what do we do?"

"She's the only one who can kill me. Its an impossible battle. We'll die no matter what happens."

Bang.

"WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?" I shouted at Percy.

"It means we need to save as many lives as we can before our-- or at least my life will be taken!" He yelled in my face. "We need to save these people now! Our neighbors, your aunt, are in danger!!! Suit up, Spidey!!"

"Oh." I finally realized.

I stripped my clothes in the middle of his living room while he pressed a button on his watch, who instantly turned his time piece into a shield, and uncapped a pin, which also instantly turned into a sword. Soon, I was Spiderman, not your average, everyday nerd, Peter Parker.

"Wicked," I complemented Percy's attire as I checked to see if my web shooters were in tact and ready for battle.

By the time we were ready to war, Mr. Blofis and Mrs. Jackson (or is it Mrs. Blofis?) had full body armor and weapons as well.

"Paul, Mom, we're gonna save as many lives as we can," Percy told them. "When its clear, leave. Escort the people out of here and find a safe place to hide. Don't come out unless you know its safe, okay?"

"Yes, honey," Mrs. Sally nodded her head.

After everything seemed in order, Percy, his parents, and I split up to clear as many homes as possible.

"Get out of your house!" I screamed to one family of two toddlers and their parents. "Use the back door. There's combat going on outside. Its not safe!"

They immediately understood and obeyed. I jumped out of their window and continued down the streets until I was sure all the houses in a one hundred feet perimeter were absolutely clear.

Then, I turned to find Alex. Right in front of Percy's house, she stood in combat position, ready to take on the world.

"Percy Jackson!" she cried in a hollow, masculine voice. "Show yourself!"

"Here," Percy appeared from a few feet behind me, and began approaching my best friend, ready to fight to the death.

No. This can't be real! They can't hurt each other!!

Alex raised two ninja swords from her sides and screamed a war cry as Percy and she ran to the middle of the battlefield, nothing able to stop them from murdering each other.

Except me. I could stop them.

A/N
Here's a slightly early chapter...

I just watched Spiderman Homecoming (for maybe the second time), and I must admit that that was one of my favorites. Excellent humor, and the portrayal of teenagers... Spot. On. I LOVE IT. If you thought of a person with the awkwardness and humour of Peter and the everything of Ned, you'd have a pretty decent image of me. Ima say it once more. Perfect movie. Perfect. Freaking perfect. (I still like Doctor Strange, but if you're looking for a laugh, watch Tom Holland's Spiderman, please and thank you.)

Also, everyone's single at the end. There's barely any romance the entire time. This is the most relatable superhero movie ever.

OKAY THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT TO ME.

I saw in my notifications, 'CessilyofRavenbow has tagged you.' And I was like, "Ugh. Someone tagged me in one of those contest things."

But do you know what I saw when I clicked it????

Do you see it?

Do you see it now???? Do you freaking see it????

I ALMOST FREAKING CRIED BECAUSE THIS WAS ONE OF THE MOST REWARDING AND HAPPY MOMENTS OF MY LIFE EVER!!! I SPENT YEARS ON THIS STUPID FAN FICTION AND SOMEONE ACTUALLY RECOGNIZED MY PASSION FOR THIS STORY AND LIKES ME AND MY WORK AND I JUST CANT BELIEVE IT!!!! CessilyofRavenbow you are a freaking unicorn princess and I am so grateful for human beings like you!! Keep being absolutely beautiful and perfect!!!! Also, I read through that chapter and we share almost everything in common and now I'm going to make some Lembas Bread. Thanks for that recipe.

I may only have 2 committed followers who actually read my stories (one of them being my best friend thebestwhovian) but I'd rather have the two of you than 10 million followers who don't even pretend to care. Thanks, guys!

Lots of love!
