14. Don't Tell Percy There are Aztec Gods Unless He is Heavily Restrained

Loki POV

"Don't mind me," I smirked. "Can I just tell you what happened to your silly little friend? She was poisoned, yes... But by whom? With what?"

There was a moment of silence before Stark said, "Well? Tell us, before I send your miserable disappointing self to hell."

"Calm, mortal," I laughed uneasily. "Recently, a purple man who likes to sit in a large, elegant chair contacted me via messenger dove for my services. He was the one who helped me the first time I fought your pathetic team. His name is Thanos. He's somehow tied to all of this. He has many servants and loyal allies. He is the most powerful man in the galaxies."

"And what did he want from Alex?" Strange asked.

"I do not know," I shrugged.

"I do," Percy raised his hand. It had seemed Tony forgot about his presence, and jumped when the boy spoke.

"Why are you here?" Tony scowled. Percy nodded to him and Strange in greeting.

A smaller boy i didnt recognize cast a wave to everyone awkwardly.

"When Alex was attacked," Percy began. "Right before I sort of kidnapped her, the monsters told her to kill me."

"Monsters?" Tony demanded. "What the hell are you talking about?"

Percy sighed disappointedly. "I don't want to tell you, but I guess it seems that the luxury of having decisions has abandoned me."

"Very poetic," I complemented his sentence. He ignored me, which was something I was used to.

He gestured for everyone to sit down. He looked at me for a split second, then said, "Who're you?"

Maybe he hadn't heard of me. For once, someone actually seemed interested in me.

"Loki, Norse god of mischief and evil and whatnot," I smiled and shook his hand as a friendly gesture. "I tried to take over this world once, but these idiot blokes stopped me. Who are you?"

"Well..." Percy sat up straighter and looked to everyone in the room. "That's kinda where I have to start. I'm Percy Jackson, son of Poseidon, ex-praetor of New Rome, saviour of Olympus and this world twice, and-- I'm freaking telling the truth. Don't kill me, man!"

He added that last part hurriedly when Tony pulled out his Ironman gloves or whatever they were to shoot his hand-laser-rays at him. I scoffed. This was a very Tony Stark thing to do.

"Please cut the bull-crap," Tony said calmly. "We don't have that much time, ya know. Someone did die, and her murderer could already be on a flight to Spain or China."

"I'm telling the truth," Percy said just as calmly. "I have a girlfriend and a pregnant mom who's currently the size of a planet. I'm not gonna risk anything, my future and my sister, by doing something as stupid as delaying your research."

"Its true!" The small boy insisted. "I swear!"

"Listen to the tiny man," I said quietly.

"Peter," the tiny man's eyes narrowed at me angrily. "My name is Peter."

Peter was a big baby.

I already knew what stories I would hear from Percy, as soon as I heard his full name. But I didnt disrupt the silly mortals. It was too entertaining to watch them bicker over ridiculous things like snake men and mythological beings.

"... So after Kronos was defeated, the Earth, Gaia, decided to wake up and wreak havoc all over the world. In the final battle of a difficult war we fought and one of my friends died to get her to sleep again. Don't worry. He's okay now. So here I am. Its been a year since the last war, and I exist and... There's really nothing much to say about myself. Those guys sent to bother Alex were my old enemies from the wars."

When he finished giving a shortened story of his life, everyone was staring at him with suspicion, surprise, or a mixture of both.

"I'm telling the truth!" He threw his hands up in surrender. "Those creatures, Kelli, the Minotaur, and Kekrops, did find her and really did try to get her to kill me. Somehow, this guy you know, Thanos, is tied to the Mythological realm."

"That's a stupid observation!" Tony hissed.

"Actually," Peter raised his hand. "I was thinking the same thing as Percy. Seriously, why are you so hard on Percy?"

"It makes sense," I said, smiling. "Thanos would go all over the realms and universes to find potential allies. He probably has some from every mythological world in existence. Greek, Egyptian, Roman, Norse, Aztec--"

"Don't freaking tell me Aztec gods are in on this!" Percy yelled. "I don't even want to know they exist!"

"Maybe not their gods but..." I struggled to find words for a second, which was odd because I was the smooth tongued god and all. "Maybe you're right. Thanos would avoid them, because it would be too difficult to even say their names."

"Thank you," he sighed, relief making its way to his anxious face.

"So what was she poisoned with?" Tony insisted.

I sighed nervously. "Water from the river Acheron."

"What?" Dr. Strange blinked confusedly.

"The fifth river of the the underworld," Percy chimed. "I've seen it. Its... one of the most terrifying things anyone can ever have the opportunity to see... or hear."

Percy seemed to be taken into an old, frightening memory. He visibly shivered and had to lean on Peter for support.

"You okay?" Peter asked.

"Not really," Percy said.

"What's so bad about this river?" Tony insisted. "What makes it poisonous?"

"Its the river of suffering and pain," Percy stated. "You can literally hear the screams of the dead when you're near. They call for you to join them..."

He trailed off in the middle of his sentence, shaking violently.

"Sit down, Perce," Peter helped him to a couch.

"Don't call me that," Percy growled. "I just need..."

Silence. Awkward, worthy of Rikkard Ambrose, Silence. Stormy Silence.

"He needs you to not be stupid" I finished for the poor child. He was broken from being in hell.

"Why is this happening?" Tony asked.

"When the boy told us his life story," I quietly explained. "he left out the part where he and his girlfriend fell into an abyss that led to the deepest parts of the underworld, where two heroic titans and a small saber toothed cat sacrificed themselves for there safety, and ended up suffering and seeing worse than all of the Avengers and even the gods have seen combined."

"Serious?" Tony looked at me through narrowed eyes.

"I don't joke about these type of things," I sneered. "The boy has PTSD. He can control himself, but he needs time."

"I'm fine," Percy mumbled. "I don't need a pity party. Stop telling them things you have no right to talk about."

He stood up, his self confidence seeming to hit its peak.

"We have an investigation to begin, and we should get started so we can figure out what happened to Alex."

That's when the one named Peter toppled to the ground, completely unconscious.

A/N

I just woke up to voices outside, looked to see my parents doing yard work, and stealthily closed the curtains so they won't see me through the window and ask for help. I'm a perfect child, aren't I? Well, off to eating breakfast in the middle of the day! And after that, Batman video games and Lord of the Rings video games!

Is there anything I can do to improve my writing skills?

I TAKE CRITICISM GLADLY! :)
